Also just a little warning to people: DO NOT ever click on the links you see in these stupid spam pages! It's VERY common for bots to link to pages with viruses that download onto your computer when you click the link! >.<

Omg Whimsy, really? That is just ridiculous.
I've never got a ban for something like that, but i did get a 3 week full ban for 'scamming'. There was a misunderstanding with another user, and then the next time i logged on i was banned and could do nothing about it. Apparently they didn't need any more evidence than what the other user said. Rant over.
I'm actually thinking about leaving, and perhaps trading the account to someone on here who is still there? I'm not absouloutely sure though.

There's already a capcha in place. I've added a new question to the registration that has to be answered correctly in order to register, which hopefully people will be able to answer right and bots will fail. We'll see how this does.

Aww come on guys, no need to bad talk PI T_T Sometimes mistakes are made, but usually its our fault for breaking the rules.

I got a few weeks ban once for "art theft," because I didn't post that the pixels myself and a bunch of other people were mashing together all belonged to Pokemon, despite the fact that the thread author said that's what we all were doing. Some got banned, some didn't. It ticked me off, but I dealt with it. The people on PI (and secundi as well) are just too dang amazing for me to leave^^

You will find that quite a few users here aren't too fond of PI after the whole male-anatomy fuss (TheKennel lineart would be inappropiate because of a modest bump on male lines, Skyreels showed a similair bump and were later used as "examples of what ís acceptable") and falsely accusing TheKennel of art theft (they claimed the poses were stolen, but would never show the staff any examples). It hurt a lot of feelings and a bunch of users on secundi left PI after that. I am among them and am only back on PI because I couldn't quite get enough adoptable work done on here and I had too much time on my hands XD But I still avoid most of PI.

Also, if you are upset about something on PI or anywhere really, which of course happens every now and then, it is nice to have another place where you can talk to people and rant a little ;)

Agreed. I have seen waaay too much unfair and outright cruel treatment of perfectly innocent people on PI by the Mods and owners, to speak anything but horribly of the place. Sorry Deekkru. >.<

This site was originally made as an alternative for people who wished to continue adoptable activities after PI made a rule that disallowed the continuation of several popular adoptables. I think it's pretty natural that the topic of PI comes up so much, since it's an experience that so much of our current user base has in common. I also think it's natural that some of us have strong feelings, positive or negative, towards PI.

All that having been said, PI is PI and Secundi is Secundi. Our existence is not tied to PI. I hope we get to the point that a mention of PI means as much and as little here as a mention of Neopets or any other site.

Also, small note, sometimes the answer-correctly question on the registration page pops up with the correct answer as Default. That might allow a lucky bot or so entrance every once in a while!

That question has sadly also denied a couple of my friends registration on the site, since it keeps telling them they got it wrong. (I noticed when I installed it on my forums and tested it that even I couldn't successfully register, so it must have some bugs in it).

There is a reCAPTCHA for Secundi when you sign up, I'm fairly certain. But perhaps there is a bot database and once one figures out how to get through on a particular forum, it is updated for all other bots. >.o

Already new registrations have to click a link sent to their email to activate their account, the registration process includes a "human check" question and a captcha test. I think we're dealing with real live human spammers, not just bots, and the best we can do is deal with them as they come.

Would it maybe be possible to create a sort of spam-fighting committee made of users with just enough moderator rights to get rid of the spam/bots? That way our eagle eye members could just take care of the bots themselves rather than post here for an admin to take care of the issue.

This is getting rediculous. This is the third time TODAY I had to clean spam out of EVERY forum. I also cleaned at least a dozen fake accounts that hadn't made any posts yet but had obvious advertisements in their sig and profile. This is just today's cleaning!
