It wasn't often that he would leave his herd and go exploring, but, for some reason, today he just felt like being out.  It was until he found a deep, emerald green field that he realized he felt restless.  As though something deeper and amazing was waiting for him far from the others.

Purpose lifted his head high, pausing to whiff in and out the air.  He smelled flowers, grass, a sweet hint of clover, calling for him to search out his favourite of treats.  After a long moment, he did just that, dropping his head into the thick grass.  He snuffed thoughtfully, trying a few things here and there as he sought for clovers.

Ursa watched from the tree line, chuckling softly. She had wanted to go for a run today and was resting, her sides heaving with exhaustion. However she had not expected to run into anyone. Feeling a bit of the trickster the mare slowly started towards the stallion. Making sure her hooves landed where they needed to to make as little noise as possible. Her eyes where on him and she moved to stay at his back and with the wind blowing her way. She didn't know why she was a trickster sometimes but it was just in her nature. Her father disproved sometimes, but she didn't care.

With a smile as she came closer she reached her neck as close to his ear as she could get. "Boo!"

Purpose had quite a few good qualities, one of the main ones was his ability to focus on something.  He could put all of his attention, all of his thoughts into completing his tasks.  Of course, this also meant he had a tendency to focus a bit too hard on one thing, to the exclusion of all others.

Today was no exception.  He could smell the clovers and his pale pink nostrils had flared wide as he tried to find out just which way he needed to go.  There were two patches, he decided, one ear flicking backwards at some sound behind him.  Grass rustled, but it was faint, something small, and those clover, they were right around here somewhere--

"Boo!"

Purpose's entire body leapt away from the sound before he even fully processed what had occurred.  At the very last his head followed after.  His ears flattened against his head as he stared at the interloper.  His body trembled with the need to flee as he processed... a mare.  Dark mare with merry eyes and a teasing smile.  Purpose gave his body a whole shake.  "What?"  It was the best he could manage.

Ursa chuckled as jumped, laughing coming from her lips as she tossed her head in merriment. When he finally spoke to her she smiled at him. "Hi." Was all she said. She pranced a bit in place before lowering her head and chomping a bit of the clover that he was after. Her eyes stayed with him.

She lifted her head with a bit of clover on her lips. She tilted her head as she looked at him. A smile still playing on her lips as her mane fell over her eyes. Said eyes twinkled with merriment. She didn't know why she had wanted to scare him but she did. However going slow had caused her to stop breathing so heavy. Though her body still glistened with sweat. Maybe she could find a pond around here?

Purpose's ears came forward and then slipped back again.  Well, she was interesting.  The ease of her movements brought his ears back up again.  "Hello," he finally said, trying to regain some of his dignity.  It was lost, however, when her head came up with clover hanging from her lips.  "Ah!"

He recalled himself quickly and looked away, then purposefully put down his head, trying to find the other patch without being obvious he was doing so.  "So... who are you?" he asked as he sniffed further.

Sunchaser

Ursa smiled at him and chuckled softly, taking the rest of the clover she had on her lip into her mouth. There was still some left so she went ahead and backed up, letting him take it. She could share. She was being silly but she knew her manners. She watched him sniff for a bit before he spoke again asking who she was.

"Well by who am I what do you mean? My name? What I like to do? What I am made up of? Or just the fact that I am a elenaria like you?" She smirked slightly but it was done in a way that showed she was teasing not being mean. She could be mean when she wanted to be but mostly she was having fun today.

Her tail swished behind her, hitting a fly that wanted a part of her flesh. The mares eyes scanned around them, looking for a water source. "Is there water around here that we can swim in?"Yes she had said we. Hopefully he would join her. She wanted to know about him to.

sera

Purpose followed her progress with a flick of his ear, but not with his eyes, not yet.  He kept his attention purposefully on grass and clover.  He hesitated in his search at her rebounding questions.  His ears gave him away again, turning backwards in surprise.  He rolled an eye to look at her, inspecting her body language.  Finally he lifted his head, ears pricking forward, following her dancing movements.  "What do you care to tell me?" he asked quietly, wondering about how a simple question suddenly became a philosophical question.

Of course, she only seemed semi-interested in the metaphysical, as her skin shuddered, proving the beads of sweat still resting on her hide.  He gave a toss of his head, and then turned his head towards the west.  "I smelled water that way," he admitted to her, though he was wondering if he was about to get hauled into something he hadn't particularly wanted.

Ursa watched his ears, knowing he was interested in what she was doing. Made her feel special. Mostly because of the fact she felt like in her herd she wasn't always listened to. Its one reason she went for a run today. As she backed up from the clover she smiled for it seemed he didn't even notice she left some for him. "For now I guess I shall tell you my name. I am Ursa, What is your name?" At the mention of water she let her nostrils take in the scents around her. She could faintly smell the water but mostly she smelled herself.

If a unicorn could blush she would. She turned towards the smell of water, flicking out her tail to him. She looked over her back with a mischievous grin. "Aren't you coming?" Her orbs twinkled with delight. She was having a lot of fun. Maybe she could get to know this stallion more. Maybe before friends? Maybe more? Eh who cared about mates right now? When there was water to swim in!

sera

Despite himself, his lips quirked upwards in a smile as she 'deigned' to share her name with him.  His ears tilted forward again towards her curiously.  "My name is Purpose," he said, knowing that he couldn't just announce his name without specifying it was.  Just announcing 'purpose' tended to confuse people.  And Elenaria.

The mare turned towards the water and Purpose watched her instead of turning with her.  He fook a step after her without really thinking, then stopped with a shake of his head and another secret smile.  "I don't know," he said.  I wasn't planning on swimming today."

Sunchaser

When she heard his name her ears perked up. Oh this would be fun! "Purpose" she said his name, tasting the feel of it on her lips. She had used the word before of course but never as a name. She liked it and it seemed to suit him. She saw his smile and her own widened.

She saw his movements start to follow then stop. Oh now is that how he wanted to play huh? She chuckled and trotted around him, her head lowered slightly as she looked at him through her mane. "You hadn't planed on swimming huh? Well Purpose, maybe it has become your purpose for the day to escort me." She raised her head and tossed her mane lightly. "If you come swimming with me we can perhaps find out more about each other." She nipped a bit of clover from the ground, "Perhaps a bribe?" She grinned.

sera

Somehow, his odd name seemed less odd the way she spoke it.  His ears twitched and then tilted back towards her again curiously.  She wasn't asking.  She wasn't ordering.  She was suggesting in a very interesting way.  He felt himself drawn by it, even though he wasn't certain it was a good idea.  She seemed like a tease.

She seemed very interesting.  He wouldn't mind getting to know her a bit better.  Perhaps a lot better.

Purpose twitched his tail, tilting his head and cocking one ear towards her.  "A bribe?" he asked, pawing the grass with one forehoof.  He was nearly smiling again, amused by her play.

Sunchaser

The mare watched him as she pranced around him. Oh yes this was very amusing to her and she was having a lot of fun. She wanted to know more about this curious stallion who's name was Purpose. He probably had some interesting stories to go with that name.

Her ears twitched towards him, her eyes twinkling with delight as she stood before him. She tilted her head with the clover still in her lips. "Yes a Bribe. For each question I ask you, you can ask me a question. And ill be nice and share some clover. Or perhaps you would rather have some sugar cubes? I know where some are but it would have to be after we swim." She pranced in place, almost dancing as only a horse or elenaria could. She was super happy right now and just having fun.

She did know where sugar cubes were hopefully her herd mates hadn't found her stash.

sera

A whinny of a laugh escaped and Purpose arched his neck as he took slow, careful strides closer to her.  "That sounds less like a bribe so much as a game," he said.  He stretched his nose towards her and snorted lightly into her mane before drawing back again swiftly.  "The humans play it; Twenty Questions, i think."

Still... he did love clover.  Sugar cubes were nice, but clover: mmmmhhhhhh.  Very few things could be a nice mouthful of clover.  His muscles all bunched tight for a moment, then he sprang forward, past her.  He whipped his tail at the last second, snapping the long strands in front of her nose.  "Race you there!"

Sunchaser

Ursa watched the stallion as he headed towards her. As he snorted lightly into her mane her body quivered slightly at the touch. She chuckled softly. She probably reeked but it was nice that he would be willing to be that close to her before the water. Her eyes saw the bunching of muscles but she was not prepared for him to race her!

"HEY!" She neighed with indignation and raced after him. As she caught up with him she nipped at his flanks lightly. "You got a head start!" Her nose still stung lightly from where his tail hit her nose but it wasn't painful just as if a fly had landed there. She worked at keeping up with him but she would soon fall behind because of her run earlier. As they reached the water she just plunged right in. Tossing her mane, she managed to get water all over her and hopefully some on him to.

sera

She stretched her legs very nicely; Purpose could hear her hooves delicately stamping a rhythm of movement and life behind him.  And then she was beside him, strong teeth teasing his skin with a quick nip.  He half-jumped sideways, and she surged right up beside him.  He slowed as she did, staying just a bit ahead of her.  When they reached the pond, however, he plunged to a stop right on the edge of the shore.  Not good enough, though, to keep him from getting soaked.  Ursa leapt into the water, sending up a swift wave, and then she shook her mane, flinging small droplets all over him.

His whole body shuddered, as if it could rid him of the damp and he snorted at her.  Still, his ears perked forward and the look he sent her was more amused than irritated.  "Feel better?" he asked ironically.

Sunchaser

Ursa grinned as wide as a Elenaria could grin. "Just a little bit." She pranced in the water, getting the sweat off her body. Her mane was tossed a bit to lay on her like a river, her hair curling slightly from the dampness. She flicked a bit out of her eyes and looked at him slyly. "Though I know what would make me feel better." She smirked slightly. She wanted to drag him into the water but how to do it? Eyes lit up with an idea and she slowly started to move out of the water.

If she could time this right then she could get him fully into the water.
