I'm sort of an addict to it, though I'm looking for a better version if you have any recommendations. I know some good guides and tips too  ;)

I play it! I have the action replay for it, though, so I don't usually play it without cheats. XD
I haven't played in a while, but I don't think I ever played a single game past the second year. It got too boring with all my cheats... :P

I have Harvest Moon: It's A Wonderful Life for the GameCube.  Not sure if it would be the same as the one for the DS or not..  And I'm "trying" to get my hands on Harvest Moon: It's Another Wonderful Life, but my game supplier has been having trouble getting it for me.

I didn't know there were cheats! lol  I wonder if they would work on my GC version..  And what's the replay do?

There are cartridges called "action replays" for the DS, which are larger than regular game cartridges and you insert them directly into the DS, while you put the game you want to put cheats on in the slot which is in the top of the larger cartridge of the action replay. You start it like you would any other game, but the first thing that you see is the menu of the action replay and you activate the cheats there, and when you're done you can start the game with the cheats.
They cost about $20 at most major retailers. You can find some at walmart and places like that (the ones that are being sold now are the black ones [mine is the older version and it's red] which are formatted for the DSi, but will also work with normal DS games). Here's a link to the official website for them (apparently, they are cheaper now.. only 15.99 euros!): link!

I know that there are action replays for the gamecube, but they are much harder to come by now with the Wii being it's newer counterpart. I don't have one, sadly, but I'd love to get one! XD I'm sure they have similar cheat systems for the Wii, but I doubt that those will work with gamecube games.
I have Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life for the gamecube. <3 The pony is so cute!

lol I don't have a wii, I've been balking about getting one since they were released.  Cheats would be awesome though!

And gah I relaly want another wonderful life.  I hope my supplier can manage to snag one for me soon lol

I am actually quite addicted to Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar (for DS). Harvest Moon 64 used to be my favorite, but I think grand bazaar takes the cake X3

Not only do you grow the crops, but you get to sell them, and the food you make, at a weekly bazaar =D It's a lot of fun ^o^ I definitely recommend Grand Bazaar to fans of HM :3

Ravvana

I am such a huge Harvest Moon dork.

My absolute favorite is A Wonderful Life for the Gamecube. I have played it through marrying Nami three times (trying to push my adorable ginger son toward different careers) and Celia once. I got it when I was super little and it was the first game I ever played all the way through the end <3 Another Wonderful Life I didn't enjoy as much, just because none of the bachelors really appealed to me, and because I didn't like a few of the changes (sleeping system, grass system, etc).

My recent favorite is Grand Bazaar for the DS as Solistia said. Although I married Angelo and then he really started to get on my nerves >.> The bazaar was a really effective way to keep me playing past marriage (when I usually get bored), since I wanted to upgrade it all the way. And I really liked having the basement for my pineapple monopoly.

If you guys haven't tried Rune Factory yet, though, I highly recommend the original title for the DS or, even better, Rune Factory: Frontier for the Wii (although I think it's getting harder to find). It's all the joy of HM -- farming, ranching, courting -- with the addition of dungeon crawling, creature/boss battles, and a more intriguing storyline. It's not really fair to directly compare HM to RF games because they are different, but nonetheless I'd say RF:F is my favorite of both titles.

For some reason, I've also been more of a fan of the older harvest moons XD Harvest Moon 64 is definitely my favorite, but it's mostly because I know that game the best :)

Back to Nature/Friends of Mineral Town are a close second. I guess I really love the Mineral Town/Flower Bud characters (Gray is SO. CUTE.)

My third favorite is the original Harvest Moon for SNES. Dunno why, I guess I like reading girls' diaries. >_> It also had a lot of fun little secrets and the multiple endings thing was fun!

Hmm... The DS games I haven't really been able to get into so much. The Rune Factories were a little weird for me and HM DS just didn't grow on me. Though, my sister has been playing Grand Bazaar and says it's pretty good, so I'll have to try that one too, especially since so many of you guys also say it's good :)

I'm in my 7th year of Harvest Moon DS, but it's starting to get boring(kid was born about a year ago, married Nami <3), especially since when I first got the game I looked up and saw a bunch of stuff where my kid could get married and all. Then I discovered that none of this was true on DS, your kid just becomes another character to friend and talk to occasionally. Which really sucks in my opinion =/
I don't think I could do Harvest Moon games on a console hooked up to a TV, I like to put lots of time into them *completely OCD about making sure my farm is always awesome looking* I couldn't sit in front of a TV for hours. Well..actually I played Kingdom for Keflings for like 6hrs straight once. But I normally don't have that much time on the TV to myself because of my younger bros always wanting a turn.
I'll definately have to look into Grand Bazaar. It sounds fun and I'm interested on how it would be like to play as a girl. I certainly hope you don't do all of that farm work pregnant o_O
I've heard Rune Factory was really good, just never looked into it much, a friend was talking to me about all of the different characters, and possible wives and all, and it sounds a bit weird. But heheh...that just made me want it more XD

I too loved the 64 version, it was different. Mostly cause I play AWL on gamecube and PS2 Save the homeland. So I was going backwards.lol But I never got to play the SNES or the older gameboy games. I have most of the ds and gameboy advance except ruin factory. I love the wii harvest moon games, very cute and fun. But I like the first one the best cause finishing was fun and got me lots of money. Oh and doing odd jobs helped passed the time and get a guy.:)

Madisen614

2. RUNE FACTORY ;D
3. RUNE FACTORY 2
4. HARVEST MOON DS CUTE

Can I be your guy's friends? Please/
