ATTN: Photobucket No More!!

Hey guys,

It has come to my attention that Photobucket just announced today that they will no longer allow 3rd Party Site hosting without paying a hosting fee. What does this mean? This means they won't let you post the image on a site like ebay or a website or a forum (like ours).

So I think that means a lot of shops here on Secundi will have to think up some alternatives quickly!

I was able to upload photobucket images last night, so I'm not sure when these laws are going into effect... Both of my photobucket accounts are like almost ten years old, so maybe they are holding off on the older accounts?

I'll keep people updated here as I learn more.

You can still upload and use your photobucket, that's not going to be the problem. The problem would be that any IMG code you use on these forums wouldn't show the images anymore, so people can only view their pets by visiting photobucket's site directly. Which is a pain with their billion ads >_<

I've been keeping an eye on it and there seems to be no effect just yet. I know they are losing a lot of long time users though but would they really care about that if they aren't making any profit from them?? *shrug*

Reminder: If any of you have old adoptables from people who aren't around any more, you might want to save images of your pets before their old pb accounts are locked. 

For example, Misplaced's Caprani and Marbles accounts might be hit at any time.
