Billions of years ago, Earth was covered with all kinds of wildlife, and man had not been introduced yet. The animals thrived, and natural selection worked at its best to bring on the rise and fall of various species. After many years, however, hundreds--no, thousands--of species were wiped out, and the remaining wildlife grew fearful of what had been introduced to Earth: humans. Then, one day, a large black wolf accidentally found a portal to another world.


So it begins...
The wind was blowing frantically, and it kept whipping my hair into my eyes as I walked along the long dirt path back to my house. I didn't know what was going on at first. One minute it was just me, hurrying along as fast as I possibly could, and the next I was stopped dead in my tracks by a huge furry beast.

I'd heard about portals before. Where creatures from other worlds pass over into our own. But I'd never seen it happen right before my eyes.

Before me stood a large black wolf. At least, I think it was a wolf. It's hard to tell exactly what something is that passes through a portal. Not only can the portals give an animal extra abilities, but they also lead to many, many different worlds. Her golden eyes seemed to peer into my soul, and I felt a tingling in my head.

Excuse me, but could you tell me where I am?

I was shocked. A wolf had just spoken to my mind! Okay, this was a little strange. But this world is filled with strange. I remembered what I'd been taught, to show foreign creatures that they were welcome here, in our world. I smiled and replied, "Welcome to the world of Secundi. My name is River. I am pleased to make your acquaintance." The wolf lowered her head, as if bowing, or showing respect.

Thank you. If I might ask, do you have living quarters for me and my companions?

Companions? I don't see any companions, I thought. Then I tore my eyes away from the animal's gaze, and realized that there were more. Many more. Perhaps too many. Where on earth are we going to keep all of them?! The thought quickly vanished. I knew what I had to do. It was time to call some of my friends, who live in the heart of Secundi.

First and foremost I would like to point out to those of you who do not already know, some big changes have been made regarding breeding (among other things that I will reveal later on).

First, we now have a clear schedule for what will be happening each month. Here it is:
January - Breeding
February - Events
March - Competitions
April - Breeding
May - Events
June - Competitions
July - Breeding
August - Events
September - Competitions
October - Breeding
November - Events
December - Competitions
Now, just because a month is not specified as an event month, does not mean I won't throw random events here and there for holidays and such. The main thing is that the breeding and competitions will only be for those months specified.

Second, there are new rules and guidelines put in place for breeding and choosing which wolves to breed together. Here they are:
*Your litter will have anywhere from 1-4 pups in it. You may keep 2 pups from that litter.
          - 1 Pup - 40% chance
          - 2 Pups - 30% chance
          - 3 Pups - 20% chance
          - 4 Pups - 10% chance
*You may use special breeding bones to increase the chances of getting male, female, or fantasy colors.
          - Blue Breeding Bones increases the chance of a male pup by 10% (-10% for female).
          - Pink Breeding Bones increases the chance of a female pup by 25% (-25% for male).
          - Fantasy Breeding Bones increases the chance of fantasy colors by 10%.
*You do not need to use more than one of these items. The chances will be the same for all the pups in the litter.
*Pups will grow up one month after they are born
*The different locations also affect different things during breeding.
          - Forest (30%) - 60% chance of +1 pup to your litter
          - Mountains (30%) - 60% chance of +1 pup to your litter
          - Island (20%) - +15% chance of a female pup (-15% chance for male)
          - Desert (10%) - +5% chance of the fantasy item to work
          - Rainforest (10%) - +5% chance of the fantasy item to work

To see what location your wolf has been assigned, go to the photobucket link for him/her and look at the description. It should have one of the five locations assigned to it. If not, please let me know so I can amend that.

Good news! We have moved to Dropbox! Everything has been updated in this thread. Owner's folders for the wolves are now separate from inventories (your items no longer show up in the same folder as your wolves). To see your inventory, there is a link in the first post, right under the link for owner's folders. If there are any issues, please let me know and I will fix it asap. (:
