Hi Guys!

So there's an art contest run by the PTA in school called Reflections.  Not sure how well-known  it is in other areas.   Anyways, it has categories like traditional art, literature, song, dance, film, etc.  This year LilBit made a little movie about some Wobble characters she (and I) made up as her entry.  She did all the drawings, voice work, and editing for the film.  She's 9 years old now, in 4th grade.

If you're interested to see the video, it's up on YouTube here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AimbAGbDV_4&t=2s

Thanks guys, you totally made LilBit's day! :) I think there will probably be several more videos eventually now that LilBit knows how to make them. She's definitely taken the idea of Wobbles and run with it, she's got a whole bevvy of wobble characters she likes to make comics about (and insists I help her - it's her church "quiet activity" ^^;; Ok ok, it's fun for me too.)

Let's see, as far as what I've been up to - It's been an interesting while for me. So to recap, Conrad died 3 1/2 years ago. LilBit and I moved in with my parents, I got a full time job and planned to try to move out from my parents hopefully with the year or so. 2-ish years ago I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and realized that trying to live on my own with no other adult help would be an awful idea, especially with LilBit to think about. I also realized that no, I really wasn't going to get used to the full-time work schedule and there was a reason I was too tired to do anything but go straight to bed after a full day's work. I started a regime of MS medication (they can't cure or even fully prevent MS symptoms yet, but they can delay it) and cut my hours down to part time, which helped a great deal – I actually had energy to give a little time to poor LilBit after work.

At the start of this year I had a bad kidney stone, the kind you have to have blasted because it was too big to pass on its own. It was kind of awful, took a full week, and multiple trips to the ER and one overnight stay at the hospital to take care of. The upside to the whole ordeal was that they were monitoring my oxygen levels during my hospital stay, and I realized that my fatigue issues might have their roots in more than just MS. One sleep study later, and I'm now diagnosed with sleep apnea and am the very, very happy owner of a CPAP machine. It's made a big difference too, and now I not only have energy after work for LilBit, but for a bit of leisure too.

Provided that work sticks to part time hours. Which has actually been an issue in the few months since I got my CPAP machine. I got it towards the start of the summer, and then had to work full time hours all summer, because summer is crazy busy time for the screen printing business, and my coworker took tons of time off leaving me the only one in the company who could do the job. Once the school year started, it was supposed to slow down, it did every other year, but this year ... I guess the company just grew. It's stayed really busy. I've been training a 3rd person to do the job this past week, so I'm hopeful that will help, because even with the CPAP I'm really not up to sustained full time hours anymore.

On the other hand, my bosses have been very kind and understanding of my situation. They've moved me off the floor working machines, and onto a computer job. I'm actually using my photoshop and art skills, which I never believed I'd manage to get a real live job doing. But here I am, and I'm really enjoying it. :)

I'm not going to make any promises, but I do have vague hopes to get back to Secundi and Quinsta sometime in the next months.  My health has made some good progress this year, especially with the CPAP.

So sorry to hear about your health issues, but glad to hear things are now looking up somewhat.  We've missed you!

(And i can relate to church "quiet time" activities - I remember using bulletins or notepaper as sketchbooks when I was around LilBit's age, too!)

Don't rush yourself Silv <3 I've learned that people, your friends especially, will always welcome you with open arms! Take all the time you need to get back into the grove of things, and even just participate in the games we have <3

I'm so happy to see you back on secundi, even just to check in with us <3

P.S. LilBit dd an amazing job on her video x3 It's so stinkin' cute I think I might die!

As Crys said, take all the time you need.  As much as I miss Quinsta events, it's more important for you to pace yourself and get back into the swing of things.  My herd waited patiently for the 3+ years I was inactive here.  Another few months - or years - won't kill them.

Riverwind

I second everything everyone else has said. I cannot tell you how happy I am just to hear from you--even if you are not able to come back to Secundi, you will always have a place in my heart and I have honestly been genuinely worried about you over the past few months since Secundi was revived. This community has been a kind and loving place and has always welcomed me with open arms and a warm heart.

I am sorry to hear of your health issues, but glad that you seem to have had some improvement over the past couple of months. I pray that you will continue getting better and it's always nice to hear about LilBit as well <3

Ember

That video is super adorable!

It's also nice to hear from you. I'm sorry to hear about your health downs but I'm glad they sound like they're on the up. Ditto what everyone else has been saying, take as much time as you need to feel your best and always feel free to come poke your head in for some support or to say hi or whatever else!

Midnight Phantom

That video is really cute!!

I'm glad to hear thinks are looking up, especially finding the problem with sleep apnea x.x restful sleep is good.
Also very glad to hear you found a job that is understanding and and placed you in a position that you are doing what you like :3

I am glad to see you posting silv even if it's just a update. I follow on Facebook sometimes but it's not the same. Give lilbit our love and whenever your ready to come back even if it's only to get goodies for yourself it's ok :)

Oh Sil!  :( I'm so sorry to hear that! My aunt had MS and it's a very hard thing to deal with. I'm glad your medication is improving things. -hug-

It would be great to have you around more, if/when you have time! :) We all miss you. And the site is still small and insular at this time, so I think if you were able to come back, you wouldn't be overwhelmed.

Good luck in your art contest, LilBit!

<3333!!!

So good to see you 'round these parts and get the update! Sounds like life is looking up some, at least... awesome that you get to use creative skills at work! :D And having an understanding job can make so much difference.

My dad had MS, so I've seen how that goes :( I'm always hopeful that they'll find a cure before too long.

Best of luck to LilBit in the contest!
