Ryuukokoro

((OOC: This RP is only for my and Sunchaser's Faequine characters, who have been interacting with each other in various RP's since they were foals. Thank you for understanding. :) It takes place at the same time As the Little Lost Love event. ))

They were still far from Willow Glade, but that didn't stop two mares from gamely striding onward through the wintery landscape. One was a pegasus of surprising colors, her body black and blue edged with white, a sparkling mask of blue and white designs swirling on her face. The second was a humbly colored Fae, gray and white, but with a thick shaggy mane and a gigantic fluffy tail marking her as a Hound Fae.

"Are you sure we're allowed to come here?" Gleinir said softly, picking her way carefully through the snow. "We're not parents, Bea. We don't have any foals this season. Or even potential mates." Her floppy hound ears pinned back a little, an expression of sadness.

Her herdsister Beatrice snorted and shook out her multi-striped mane. "Last time I checked, the Fields are a free country, Gleinir. We can go wherever we want.

"You're such a gossip. You just want to see who mated to who this season." Usually quiet and polite, Gleinir couldn't help but tease her closest friend.

"And so what if I do?" Instead of being embarrassed, Beatrice arched her neck and picked up her hooves in a strut. "Not like it's going to be a secret when all the new foals start tumbling about the Fields! Now come on, if we get to the Glen and everyone is already gone, I'm going to be annoyed that we wasted a whole day walking around and following them." She took off at a trot, but didn't take to the air, since it's rather impolite to fly away when the Fae you're traveling with doesn't have wings to follow with.

The blind mare moved near her mate, staying close to him for warmth as she looked at the dancing colors before her. Most of her world was white but she did see some. Especially if she was really close to you. Her body shivered as she tried to clear her thoughts of the foal that as missing. She had no idea where they could be only that they were not here. She looked up at the black mass that was Black Fire. His eyes where glowing and she could see that in the whiteness as well as his black flames that covered her and warmed her.

The black stag move slowly, letting the mare lean on him for support as they looked for the foal. He sighed softly, nuzzling into her neck as he saw her looking at him. "Its okay love we will find them." The mare just nodded before she perked her eyes. Black fire tiltd his head, hearing distant words and then the sound of movement near. He gave a small nicker. welcoming whoever it was, but staying in front of Flastri incase it was a enemy.

The winter made all sounds in the world muted. No leaves to rustle in the trees, no gurgling of rushing streams. Just the subdued sound of snow crunching underhoof. When a low wicker came from ahead of them, Beatrice caught it right away.

"Hey, we caught up to someone," she said, her black-tipped ears swiveling forward. "Maybe the groups haven't made it to the Glen yet. Come on, let's go see who it is."

"All right. Though I hope they're not mad that we tagged along..." murmured the Hound Fae.

Bea snorted to express her opinion on that and picked up speed, cantering through the snow toward the sound. She rounded the side of a hulking white-covered tree trunk and stopped short. She hadn't realized how close the other Faes would be, but she almost ran straight into the stallion as she circled the tree trunk.

"Sorry about that," she said glibly, taking a few sideways steps to put some distance between them, as it was kinda rude to be right up in a stranger's face. All at once Beatrice realized it wasn't a stranger in front of her at all, and she almost sat down right there in the snow in pure shock.

"Black Fire!" she cried out excitedly. "That has GOT to be you, no one else has all those flamey things coming off their wings. What are YOU doing here, you handsome stud?" She winked to show she was just teasing him, then peered around his shoulder and her blue eyes widened. "Flastri?! Is that you??"

Sunchaser

The two faes turned towards the sound of the rushing faes as they waited. Flastri put her head on Blackfires shoulder, looking over him towards the sounds as the male stood strong. However they did not have to wait long till he was almost run over. He snorted slightly in surprise, his flames flickering with surprise at almost being run over. Then they widened even more as he saw the fae. "Bea!" He exclaimed in surprise as Flastri tried to figure out what was going on.

She heard her mates name called and tilted her head. About to ask who that was Black Fire answered for her. She tilted her head slightly as she looked at the smudge that she assumed was Bea as it was relativly her size from what she had seen before. As Bea spoke Flastri chuckled softly and nodded her head. "Yes it is. However these arent good times, we are missing our foal." She frowned and was rewarded with a nudge by Fire. "its okay love perhaps she can help us?" HIs fire orbs turned to look at the pegasus with hopeful eyes.

Ryuukokoro

Beatrice felt embarrassed. Of course Flastri couldn't see her. She clearly remembered their first meeting as little fillies. How Flastri had tried to keep her blindness a secret until she had tripped over a log, and Beatrice's big mouth had gotten her in trouble when Flastri had refused her help. (Ha, the start of a long lifetime of Beatrice's mouth running away with her, for sure.) But after that the two fillies had made up and become very close friends.

The memories rose up unbidden in Bea's mind. She and her herdsister, the quiet little Gleinir, had left their herd and made friends with these two strange young Faes. Flastri, the little blind mare, and Black Fire, the hostile and defensive foal. Oh, and Enigma, of course! How could Beatrice forget the other little colt who had played with them? Together the five young ones had been very good friends, though it had been a long time since Beatrice had seen her friends. Now, looking at them as adults, she was amazed at how far they had all come.

"Yeah, it's me, Flastri. Beatrice, you remember us, right? It's been so long since we've seen you!  Oh, uh, where did Gleinir go..." The pegasus turned and looked over her shoulder.

There stood the Hound Fae. Her amber eyes were wide and her mouth hung open in complete shock.

Beatrice was a clever mare, but in this one instance, she was clueless. She didn't understand the look of complete and total surprise on her herdsister's face. "Gleinir, it's Black Fire and Flastri," she said, nudging her in the shoulder. "You remember them, of course? We played together as foals."

Gleinir seemed to shake all over, her fluffy mane and tail puffing out. She was looking at Flastri, and couldn't seem to look away. "D-did you say . . . your foal?" she breathed out in a soft whisper.

Sunchaser

Oh yes Flastri remebered Beatrice well. She really had tried to hide her blindness but when it had come out it had also turned Black Fire. She smiled softly inwardly at the thoughts and memories before she turned to look at the female agian. "Yes i just wanted to make sure cause of the blurrs. Many blobs look alike." She smirked with humor as she looked at her. "Though i recgonize your voice more then the blob of color." She chuckled softly before turning to see the Hound fae.

When the other voice reached her she nodded her head, nuzzling into Fire with affection. "Yes our foal. WHy?" She tilted her head as she looked at the other.

Black Fire nuzzled Flastri back as he smiled at Beatrice and then Gleinir. "Hello Glenir." He smiled at the two of them as he looked between them. He had not know about crushes and what not until he had fallen in love with Flastri and so did not know that the hound fae had infacted liked him. Fire moved forward, reaching out to nuzzle the two females before steping back and letting Flastri do the same as was her custom when meeting friends. He was made to do it really by her but latly he didnt mind. If it made her happy then he would be happy.

Ryuukokoro

Bea was surprised to hear that Flastri could make her out, even if it was just as a blurry form. "Wow, so you've regained a little of your eyesight? That's good to hear!" she congratulated the dark-colored mare.

Meanwhile Gleinir still had not moved, seeming to be frozen with shock. Beatrice had no idea what Gleinir was so worked up about. It was a very unusual reaction from the usually easygoing young mare. "Glein, what's wrong?" she couldn't help but ask.

But Gleinir could not reply, her throat tight with some unspeakable emotion. She didn't even know what was going on, all she knew was that seeing Black Fire and Flastri brought a swift pain straight through her chest and locked her throat up tight.

Bea's bright blue eyes were still drilling into her with a concerned gleam, but Gleinir couldn't stand to be under the gaze of the other three Faes for another moment. She reared a little, her front hooves flailing in the air, as she turned on her heals and galloped off in the opposite direction.

"Gleinir! Where are you going!?" she heard the faint shout from behind her. But she didn't look back.

Sunchaser

Flastri nodded her head. "Yes but i think its as much as it will clear up. Im just glad i got a little something so i can discern people and figure out who everyone is. She looked to Gleinir as the other asked what was wrong, tilting her head slightly. She moved closer to Black Fire wondering if he knew what was going on and wanting to get warmer from his flames.

However as soon as she moved closer the wolf one raced off. She shook her mane as snow was flung in their direction from the retreating fae. Black Fire rose a brow as the other left before turning to Flastri and makeing sure she was all right. All the snow that had landed on him was melted instantly from his fire powers but Flastri was still learning hers so he made sure the snow was gone. Once that was done he turned to Bea. "What was that about do you know?"

As all of this was going on Enigma was walking around, his head bent down as he wondered what he would do. He had no mate and it seemed everywhere he looked more people where getting together. He had a crush on Beatrice of Ryuukokoro's herd but he doubted she even knew he was a live. He was not one to socialize cause he was a quiet guy and  was not one to go looking for friends though sometimes they appeared out of no where. He moved along in the shadows as he fought his way through the light snow. He had to stop though as he was pushed over by a mare that ran right into him. A loud oof came out of him as he landed on his side in the snow, his eyes wide. He turned to see who it was and saw Beatrice. His eyes grew even widered if that was possible as he saw the mare he was just thinkng about.

Ryuukokoro

Beatrice look a little embarrassed. She didn't like being left behind to deal with her herdsister's random freak out. Not that they happened often! This was really the first time Bea had ever seen Gleinir acting like this. It was a little concerning...

The black and blue and white mare shook her mane out, getting the kicked-up snow off her neck and mane. "I have no idea what that was about," she grumbled to Black Fire. "I'm not really impressed, though." She dug one hoof into the snow. "What has gotten into her head?"

After a moment, Bea made a decision. "I'm not going after her," she announced. "That silly girl can act like a normal Fae or cool her heels off by herself." The pegasus turned to Black Fire and Flastri. "Besides, didn't I hear you say your foal is lost out here? Come on, let me help you look. If Gleinir hasn't shown up by the time we find the foal, then we can go look for HER too." Beatrice pinned her ears back to express her she felt about having to go search for her herdsister like she was a little lost foal.

Gleinir galloped as fast as she could, her hooves sliding out from under her half the time as she bolted away from Bea, Black Fire, and Flastri. Her eyes were squeezed shut against the painful stabbing feeling in her chest. What was this? Why was this happening? Why did it feel like the world was ending? She didn't understand anything, all she knew was that she hurt all over.

Suddenly she really DID hurt all over, outside as well as inside. She ran into something large and went tumbling down into the snow, her legs tangled up in the legs of another Fae.

Panting, Gleinir raised her head and looked into bewildered blue eyes. She felt a wave of embarrassment and guilt replace the painful prick in her heart. "S-sorry," she gasped out, gathering her legs under her and lurching to her feet. "I'm sorry, sir..." She looked away, unable to look the other Fae in the face.

Sunchaser

Black Fire nuzzled into his mates neck as his mind was torn between all the decisions he could make right now. For example should he go after the other fae since she wouldnt have gotten to far yet, should he countiue to search for his foal who could be anywhere or should he just slump and wait to be told what to do. He sighed and just waited to be told what to do since Flastri would  know better. She knew how to deal with people, he didn't.

His body stood still as he wraped his feather wings around Flastri and also flicked off the remainding snow on Bea. His towers twicked slightly as the other mare spoke agian. He nodded his head and a sigh escaped his maw. "Yes the foal is lost somewhere out here. We didn't even have enough time to see if it was male or female before it raced off." He hung his head for the foal had reacted to quickly for he parents to do anything.

Enigma chuckled softly as he heard the other mare. "it is okay Gleinir. I just hope you where not running from a bear or somthing that could harm us. Though if you are then i guess ill have to protect you." He smiled slightly for it was the most he had spoken to the mare. He got up, slowly untangling himself before shaking his body to rid it of the snow.

Ryuukokoro

Bea couldn't help but giggle slightly. "My my, one look at you and your own foal ran off, eh Black Fire?" she quipped, smirking playfully. "Well you ARE pretty frightening to look at!"

Chuckling, Bea trotted up next to Flastri. "So, you and Black Fire, huh? Can't say I'm surprised." She flicked her tail over Flastri's shoulder in a playful nudge. "Congrats on finding your mate, Flasri. It couldn't have happened to a nicer mare."

Bea was not looking for a mate, really. Most stallions (especially the ones in her herd) were featherbrains. She hadn't met one yet that could keep up with her sharp wit and tongue. Besides, she still felt like a playful filly most days. She wasn't ready to settle down to adulthood just yet!

"The little one couldn't have gotten too far," Beatrice consoled Flastri. "We'll find 'em."

Gelinir's floppy ears perked up as the other spoke her name. He knew her? All of a sudden it dawned on her. "Oh Enigma! I haven't seen you in a while!" She bit her tongue, about to say out loud that she hadn't recognized him at first, but that would be too rude.

"I-I'm so sorry for knocking you over, Enigma," she said hastily. "I was being careless. Th-there's no danger, none at all." She hung her head in shame. "I ...I saw Black Fire and Flastri back there. Bea and I were going to the Glen to see the new foals and we ran into them. I-I got upset. I didn't know Black Fire and Flastri were together. It hurt seeing them..." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "I-I think I like him..." She didn't know what made her confess the secret to Enigma, but she felt so bad that it was like it couldn't stay trapped inside her another moment.

Sunchaser

Black Fire rose a brow and snorted, sending tendrils of flames towards beatrice's form. "I'll show you frightening Bea." He smirked as he nipped at her in a playful manner. He really wasn't as evil as he used to be because he wanted to protect Flastri.

Flastri chuckled and nuzzled Fires rump before turning to the talking female. "Yes me and Blackie." She smirked as she looked at Black Fire with a smirk on her maw. Fire snorted, shaking his head and moved off looking for the foal. "It's Fire or Black. Not blackie..." He trailed off mumbling about silly females as he moved deeper into the forest.

Flastri giggled before turning to Bea again. "It is hard to believe that he is still the same Black fire that came out of Shi'ka and Vengenza. But I'm glad he has changed." She blushed slightly as she slowly moved forward, watching the ground intently. She really didn't want to trip especially since Fire moved off from them.

Enigma looked at the mare, watching her with his blue eyes as she spoke. Enigma was used to being silent and so let her open herself. When she said she liked Black Fire he shuddered inwardly but showed nothing on the outside. His name was enigma and he could easily hide his feelings even as his heart was breaking. When she was finished he gave a small sigh that hopefully she didn't hear.

Moving forward he wrapped his neck around her and pulled her close to him. "Shhhh." He murmured as he tried to think of a song to sing to her to try and help her. He did not sing often except when he felt the need but he did have a good voice. Then the song Sunchaser and Ryuu had listened to while watching a animation called Tarzan popped into his head and so he decided to sing it to her.

Come stop your cryin'
and we'll be alright
Just take my hand, hold it tight.
I will protect from all around you,
I will be here dont you cry.
For one so small, you seem so strong.
My arms will hold you keep you safe and warm,
This bond between us cant be broken,
I will be here dont you cry

CHORUS:
'Cos you'll be in my heart,
yes you'll be in my heart,
From this day on now and forever more.

You'll be in my heart,
No matter what they say,
You'll be here in my heart,
Always.

Why can't they understand the way we feel,
They just don't trust what they cant explain.
How know your different
Deep inside us, where not that different at all.

CHORUS:
And you'll be in my heart,
yes you'll be in my heart,
From this day on now and forever more.

Don't listen to them, 'cos what do they know.(what do they know)
We need each other, to have to hold.
They'll see in time, I know.

When destiny calls you, you must be strong
(you godda be strong)
I may not be with you, but you got to hold on.
They'll see in time, I know.

That your there together 'cos

You'll be in my heart,
Believe me,
You'll be in my heart.
I'll be there from this day on,
now and forever more.
Ooh you'll be in my heart
(you'll be here in my heart)
No matter what they say
(I'll be with you)
You'll be here in my heart
(I'll be there)
Always

Always
I'll be with you,
I'll be there for you always
Always and always.
Just look over your shoulder x3
I'll be there always.

Once it was done he went silent and just held her.

Ryuukokoro

Beatrice fell into step next to Flastri. She kept one eye out for where the partially blind mare was placing her feet, though she knew Flastri could take care of herself (and she had Black Fire to help her, anyway). But still, Beatrice cared for her friends and she was ready to step to the side and be a helping shoulder if Flastri should stumble.

"He certainly has changed," chuckled the black and blue pegasus mare. "He's different from the foal I remember playing with when we were young. But it's definitely a change for the better." She raised her head and looked around the landscape, squinting her eyes to try to find any clue of the lost foal. Since both Flastri and Black Fire were dark in color, the foal no doubt was as well, so she checked the shadows of the trees and looked for any dark movement that wasn't just the wind whisking through the snow.

Gleinir trembled a little as she felt the touch of Enigma, his skin was so warm, almost hot against the chill winter breeze. There was a deep pain in her chest and as her childhood friend started to sing a soft lullaby, it brought tears to her amber eyes. They rolled off her cheeks and down her muzzle, splashing onto Enigma's neck, much to her embarrassment.

As the song ended, Gleinir gave a soft sniffle. "Th-thank you, Enigma," she said wetly. She took a deep breath to steady herself, but she just didn't want to move away from his warm presence yet. The feelings were welling up inside her, ready to burst, and she spoke without thinking, "It was during the autumn, when we all went to the Pumpkin Patch. I met him there and he was so... so different from when we were young! And he was kind now and polite and caring...." She trailed off into little hiccuping sobs, having to catch her breath after getting all worked up.

"Oh, I should have said something to him then," she sighed, speaking mostly to herself, shaking her fluffy mane out of her teary face. "But I-I'm so shy. I'm sure he never even thought that way about me. Why would he? I'm just...just...me."

Sunchaser

Enigma looked at Gleinir as she spoke, his neck still all around her. His deep blue eyes watching her as she cried and then finally spoke. A knife slashed threw his heart as he heard her speak of her feelings for Black Fire. It wasnt jealousy so much as he had fallen for this wolfhoud fae.

When she spoke of being shy a small smile appeared on his maw. He moved his lips till he was nibbling lightly on her jaw, his version of butterfly kisses. "You being shy is a good quality sometimes." He looked at her as he laid his head on the grass, watching her from the corner of his eye. "You being you.... its why i fell in love." He closed his eyes for he couldnt believe he had opened himself that much to say he cared for someone. Yet this someone was right here pouring her heart out to him about another. No Engima was definatly good for his name. He never told anyone what he truly thought or about his feelings yet he just told this fae that he loved her.

Ryuukokoro

The blue-and-white Hound Fae and the black stallion with blue markings were laying together in the grass and snow on the mountain's face, their bodies side-by-side, necks entwined. The heat of their bodies kept the icy wind at bay. Or it might have been the warmth in Gleinir's heart that came from the comforting presence of the one who listened to her problems and didn't accuse her or demand any other explanation, just let her talk her heart out.

She was a quiet Fae, and most of the Faes in Ryuu's herd were loud and boisterous (especially her herdsister Beatrice, who Gleinir sometimes figured she was the shadow of, they spent so much time together). But it was just so difficult for a quiet young mare to work up the nerve to talk to someone when she was feeling bad or when she had secret thoughts or feelings, and she had never had someone to just listen to her without judging. Sitting in the snow with Enigma was the best feeling she had had in a long time.

This still didn't prepare her for Enigma's confession. "Y-you--!?" The mare's head snapped up and stared at the stallion in shock. She had never in a thousand sunrises would have expected a stallion to confess to her!

He looked so unsure and cautious, there in the snow with his eyes closed, unable to look at her. But his voice had been quiet and sure. Tentatively she leaned forward and rested her chin on his neck. "Y-you really feel that way, Enigma...? Even after you sat here and listened to me confess my feelings for Black Fire? How... just how can you say it so surely...?"

Sunchaser

It was cold yes but for Engima, he didnt mind. He was with the one that he cared for even if she didnt care for him. Though she hadnt said anything yet so how was he to know how she felt really. His head hit the snow covered ground and felt it melt under the heat of his body. He told her what he felt and then closed his eyes. He was scared for the first time in his life, what was she going to say? Should he open his eyes? or should he keep them closed if she smacked him?

When he felt her head snap and heard the her mane whip around he flinched inwordly. He nodded his head though at the question of Y-You. His eyes poped open with suprise as he felt her chin rest on his neck. He rolled his eyes to look at her as she spoke. "yes..." He felt like he was walking on thin ice and if he said the wrong thing she would run... or perhaps it was he would run.

When she asked about how he could answer her so surly he gave a small shrug. "Because when i know something, i know somthing. And i know that i care for you and believe i love you. I know we dont see each other often but... " He sighed and closed his eyes. "When im around you even when you dont talk to me, i feel at peace. And i wanna protect you if you needed protecting and just live my life with you." the last part came out in a blurp because he wasnt certian if he could get it all out.. This is the guy afterall that doesnt say more then a sentance at a time.

Ryuukokoro

Gleinir felt a blush on her muzzle at the honest confession of the quiet stallion. "I really make you feel at peace? That's... thank you, Enigma." She smiled. "Even sitting here with you on this mountain in the middle of nowhere, so far from the Fields... I haven't felt this wonderful in a long time."

Slowly she gathered her legs under her and levered herself to her hooves. Briefly she shook the loose snow from her body. Then she leaned her head down and nudged the handsome stallion's shoulder. "I-I don't think I'm really old enough to leave my herd and settle down yet," she said honestly (although Gleinir was fully grown, she still thought of herself as a growing filly). "But I would like to spend more time with you, Enigma."

Her golden eyes sparkled with good humor. "We've known each other a long time. I still remember the little foal my sister and I played with, that game of follow the leader in the meadow." She laughed. "Shall we go somewhere together and get out of this harsh wind?" she asked, a little shyly, hoping he didn't think her too forward with the suggestion.
