I don't know/see if it's been mentioned before, but I think adding the ability to generate random numbers (or even a dice roller) would be a nice option for the forums!
It can make for interesting games for various adoptables, and also allow raffles and the like to be generated on the forums instead of having to go offsite, like random.org, where results can be regenerated or changed without the participants knowledge.

(a code for SMF can be found here http://www.houseofgenius.com/downloads/ though I'm sure there's plenty of other places to find free source code for it :3)

I think I've seen something like that.  Like you'd check a box in post options labeled roll dice or whatever and when your reply is posted it adds a randomly generated roll like "The dice come up 2 and 5" on the bottom or something. And with it being a check box thing there's no way to skew results.

That would be a great thing to have, definitely for adopt games like you said =D

Support!

You have no idea how many times I wanted to run games and be like "if only we could roll dice on here"
I know the forums on gaia have that option and it's really handy.

And yes, if this goes through I will run a massive event. I plan on running a board game on here! xD

I know I posted here already, but I am just so excited about this xD
I could think of sooo many fun things =o
And I am a Mario Party addict so I would want to run something similair. Yes yes, YLO is crazy. =3

Garney

Not sure if this is something Silv would want to implement, but it looks like an easy forum modification supported by the dev site.

I do hope she goes for it X3
It's something I miss on most forum sites that I got used to having on GaiaOnline
And there's so many fun and creative ways to use random numbers and dice (one I find fun is rolling 3 6-sided dice, and giving a prize to whoever can roll the same numbers in the same order!)

YourLoveOnly

Wanted to poke this up to see if anymore people are interested, I would still LOVE to see this happen.

PonyMama

I woudl love the option of dice for sure
or any random helper

this might be good for rp purposes somehow.  But not sure that it will take the place of/stop folks form using random.org.  Personally, I don;t actually use their dice roller too much.  But I use the heck out of their list randomizer, and the coin flipper.  If I need to roll dice, honestly, I usually just grab my DnD dice.  So, yea, for adopty stuff I would still (probably) use random.org and my own dice.

Not for randomizing raffles and stuff, it would be more for games I think.
Like the AAA forum has a dice feature and they had a game who could roll the most 8s with 10 8-sided dice or who could match the exact number the adoptable runner rolled and things liked that and winners can earn prizes. It would also open up the possibility of boardgame-like events.

SGA

hmm well maybe.  I can't atm think of any game I may use it for other then possibly rp, (and it WOULD be nice for rp purposes) but yea, maybe.  But then, my brain isn;t exactly functioning properly yet lol *pumps caffeine into body trying to wake up*

XD Caffeine is good for that!

And yeah, I personally love boardgames, so I had ideas for boardgame events for a long time. Didn't personally come up with small quick things myself, but when seeing Solistia and xenon and Crystal running them with their adoptable I thought it was great fun! :D

Neocridders

Would the users be able to see previous roles of any other user? Or is it private?
I sometimes like my things to be private just because I like it that way. I don't want someone pokeing me telling me I didnt do something right for my event when infact I was rolling it my own way and they don't need to poke their nose there since it would be my own method.
But of course, I could just use another site if I wanted to be private.

But it would be cool to have board games. RP would be cool if we were doing a 'what does your path behold when you roll 'thid and this number' :)

YourLoveOnly

As far as I have seen on other sites, yes you can see the roles of any other user, otherwise it will be quite hard to have events xD I think this feature is not for adoptable runners to get results and randomize raffle or Franken lists, although you can of course do that as well ^^ But if you want that private you can always use random.org or real dice or something like that, it's really for events and games and RP where multiple users will roll the dice. Right now I wanted a boardgame event I would have to roll dice for every user that posts and that would go super slow, it could move much quicker if people could roll themselves ^^

Neocridders

Ohhh i get it.
That would be cool. I was thinking it was for an easier 'event dice roller' like what someone would use to randomize something for a game.
Ok. That's a good idea.
XD

Winged

I love this idea! It would be cool to be able to play board games and the like on Secundi :) Adoptable-wise i'm thinking, so using the dice for games within one adoptable shop.

This should be easier now that the forum is upgraded! =D

Solistia

With the upgrade this mod might be able to just be diretly installed =D

It's the same Diceroller AAA uses :3
