WildGrowths: There's a What In My Park?

WildGrowths

((I only have a vague idea of where this is going; please excuse me as I've never run an event like this before.  There's a possibility of items, breedings, or even more blobbies. . .  Open to everyone, not just blobbie owners.))

Dr. Kayesh is on a rare excursion outside of his lab, bringing along his own experiment, Miki, to see how she interacts with the 'outside world', as it were.  He's more concerned than excited; Miki has ingested a few more things than he thought possible, and, thus far, hasn't shown any evidence of illness or issue with each new item.  He, however, was going to need some new pens and pencils.

The blobbie still had a tendency to ooze ink from time to time, further proof that she had not only ingested the items, eaten them, perhaps, but had somehow actually incorporated it into her genetic make-up.  This, at least, was fascinating and managed to offset some of his irritation at the strange blobbies.

The scientist is at a park near the lab where he works, out in the sunshine on this fairly cloudless day.  Miki is nearby looking a great deal like she did when the adopters had come by to pick up their blobbers, though from time to time she leaves a splattering of ink footsteps.  The little WildGrowth is currently sniffing around a bush and eyeing some round, red berries that she'd neer seen before.  It's obvious she's contemplating eating some, especially as her owner is currently writing some notes, frowning from time to time at the papers before him.

YourLoveOnly

YLO wandered into the park, her journal tugged under her arm and holding Sookie in her hand. She walked up to Dr. Kayesh and simply stood next to him. The man seemed busy and she would rather not disturb him. Carefully she put Sookie on the ground to see what it would do.

The little blobbie looked around a bit, taking in all the new things. YLO observed closely, journal and pencil now in her hands, ready to write down everything Sookie did. She was also trying to understand this blobbie creatue a bit more, trying to figure out what it was exactly. For example, how was it able to see?

While YLO got distracted by her own thoughts Sookie quickly hopped over to Miki and ate one of the berries. When YLO looked back to Sookie she saw the berry getting nommed on. Now she had a general idea of its form, the head seemed to be the smaller part bigger part was likely to be its body. She drew some arrows in her journal, where she kept a sketch Sookie's current form, quickly jotted down "one red berry" and then locked her eyes on Sookie, determined not to miss anything else.

((I think it would be neat to actually keep the journal somewhere, so people can see what I would write in it. Would that be okay? And where should I put it? Recruit and Organize, maybe?))

WildGrowths

(Oh, that would be very cool, YLO!  Perhaps keep a running journal in the Cafe?  I'm not certain if the journal would fit under the category for Recruit and Organize. . . but, again, I'm really just not certain.)

Dr. Kayesh, absorbed in his work, doesn't immediately notice the addition of another blobbie nearby.  Nor is he keeping a close eye on Miki, despite his many warnings to the adopters.  He finishes his thought, glancing around for Miki.  He blinks in surprise to, first of all, see the purple blobbie in the company of a red one.  He turns to see YourLoveOnly and makes a sound, also of surprise.  "Oh, hello.  How is. . ." He pauses a moment, trying to remember the red blobbie's name.  "Sookie getting along?"  He makes the name a question, though.  "Any problems?  New developments?"

SeaCrest

SeaCrest wanders into the park, grinning at the sight of the new blobbies. She waves at YLO and Dr. Kayesh, who are both busy jotting down notes in their journals. As the red blobbie swallows a berry, SeaCrest snorts as the purple one copies it, and Dr. Kayesh doesn't even notice. Walking over, she looks at the two owners' notes.

"Hello," she says. "Dr. Kayesh, I think Miki either has or will eaten one of those berries - maybe you should keep an eye on her?"

YourLoveOnly

"Sookie seems to be doing fine." I say and look over to the berry bush to make sure I know what it is doing. "Although I must admit, watching the little blobbie is harder than I expected. Well not watching, but making sure it doesn't do anything can be hard. Sookie is very fast. My other pets seem to like having this interesting thing hop around, they are always watching Sookie. I'm not sure if they realize it's a living and breathing creature. I've also noticed abnormally high jumps/hops, like it is trying to fly." Just as I finish my sentence I see Sookie jumping over the berry bush. "That's what I meant. Excuse me Dr. Kayesh, I have to follow Sookie!"

WildGrowths

(I live again! Sorry about that, weekend things ended up sucking up all of my free time.)

As a matter of fact, after watching Sookie scarf down a berry, Miki eats the end of a branch, getting a few berries, some leaves, and even part of the branch itself.  She looks over her shoulder at her person and at the two new people and seems to eye them thoughtfully.

The scientist nods at YourLoveOnly's synopsis, and he seems quite intrigued with both the information about her other pets as well as the fact that Sookie seems to want to be up in the air.  He ponders this thoughtfully, and jots down a note on the side of one of his sheets of paper; he might have a useful concoction to encourage Sookie's behaviour, but he would have to check his lab to be certain Miki hasn't spilled it.

Dr. Kayesh glances curiously towards SeaCrest who looks familiar, but he doesn't immediately place her.  "Oh, hello," he answers, his tone relaying that he had suddenly remember her.  He smiles, the expression more welcoming once he recalls her.  It quickly drifts away, however, at her news on Miki's behaviour, and he looks over to see the edge of a leaf disappearing into Miki's mouth.  "Hey, Miki, quit that!"

The purple blobbie's only response is to dart suddenly into the bush, just as Sookie leaps over it.  "Miki!"  Dr. Kayesh is up on his feet just as quickly as YourLoveOnly darts off after her blobbie.  He has no idea if the two blobbies are going the same direction, however.

indigowulf

I walk up to the people wandering in the park. When anyone looks my way, I display a box I'm carrying and announce "girl scout cookies!" I am met with a raised eyebrow, and hurry to explain, "I'm selling them for my friend's little girl, she's down with chicken pox. I know I'm too old, it's just a favor."

I pause, waiting to see if I will get yelled at, like so many houses I've knocked on doors for. Sheesh, just because I'm a grown woman doesn't mean I'm casing the place! Seeing people moving around in the park, I call out, "Thin mints, anyone?"

Lookky

I enter the park, seeing some people running after blobbies, and a guy yelling something about cookies. Feeling pretty hungry, I walk towards him. He explains to me that he is doing this work for a little friend of him. I buy some cookies, and take a look at the little creatures hopping around. 'What are they?' I ask at a girl running after them. 'That is my blobbie, Sookie!' the girls says. 'Ooh! I've heard of them! What are you guys doing then?' I ask. 'Well, I'm observing it! I want to learn more about it, so I write down everything it does.' the girl answers. 'Oh, ok..' I say. 'Can I help? They seem pretty interesting!' I ask. 'Maybe, or maybe dr. Kayesh could use a hand. You can ask him!' I thank the girl, and she runs off, trying to follow her blob.

indigowulf

((hey, who you callin a guy??))

I hand the confused looking person a box of cookies, then notice the little blob he and the girl go to observe. These are interesting, I think to myself, I must learn more! I begin to ask questions and soon locate all the little blobs in the park, watching them from far enough away I wont scare them.

((I have had several people think you were a guy at first because your username doesn't sound very girly xD))

While chasing Sookie I am approached by a guy who asks what the heck I am doing. I quickly explain before running around the berry bush. I see Sookie hopping towards a pond and quickly increase my speed. Just as it jumps into the water I throw myself onto the ground and grab the little blobbie. I'm not sure if Sookie can swim or not, but I don't think it's a good idea to risk it. I place Sookie in my hand and stand back up. After doing that I look around to see where Dr. Kayesh is and if he caught Miki yet. I was so focused on Sookie I'm not even sure if Miki went in the same direction or not.

indigowulf

((i had someone say wulf is a male name. i wanted to kick them. wulf/wulfe/wulffe is a very common german last name, which happens to be in my recent heratige- it would be like telling a "mary smith" her name was a boys name here in the US.. besides my profile and avatar, not to mention my post itself, say female lol))

WildGrowths

(You have to be very careful about assuming anything about people's online genders.  lol  Too many names can just easily swing either way.

Lookky, I know it can be difficult to come up with an RP response when you only have yourself to write, but please refrain from writing other people (or their creatures).  The blobbies are written by their owners and, obviously, it's a bit odd to have someone else write you. ;) )

Miki has no interest in water, she has darted off in another direction entirely; in fact, the purple blobbie seems to be making a beeline towards indigowulf.  Perhaps she smells the cookies?

Dr. Kayesh isn't exactly graceful in his attempts to follow the little blobbie.  "Miki! Miki! Get back here!"  He also isn't enticing the blobbie to stay with him, but she definitely seems to have a mischievous streak in her; even if he had something she wanted, it's very likely she would have run off anyway.

Well, at least Miki is heading for the woman with the cookies; Dr. Kayesh has a bit of a soft spot for Girl Scout macaroons. . .

indigowulf

Seeing the cute little thing dashing towards me, I look at the man following her and ask if it's ok to offer it a cooky. I have a box that came un-glued on the end so I cant sell it anyway.

YourLoveOnly

With Sookie still in my hand I walk over to the other people who all seem to have gathered around the cookies. "I'd love to try a cookie and I think Sookie would too" I tell the woman while looking at my little blobbie who is wiggling in my hand.

((I am still working on getting my journal up. I want to take some real pictures to put in it, but I don't seem to have any red fabric left >.>))

Ryuukokoro

((Apologies for the late addition, I've been AWOL from Secundi because of RL drama the past week or so sigh...))

Joyful barking heralds the arrival of myself and my ever-present companions. Never let it be said Ryuu travels alone, because most of the time it would be a lie. This time I'm traveling with a frisky red and white Shetland Sheepdog and a more sedate buff colored Shetland with white and brindle markings. Although neither dog is leashed, I have a retractable harness with a split leash on the end danging from the loop at my belt. Shetland Sheepdogs were the breed I focused on for training and showing, and both of these were trained well enough that they knew not to run away from my side, no matter what the distraction.

At first I don't notice the group of people gathered together, and I'm just enjoying the nice weather of the park. My two dogs are taking the opportunity to roll vigorously in the grass near my feet, sniffing fallen leaves and barking at threatening earthworms.

I look over at the group of people when I see a flash of purple in the grass, and my eyes widen when I recognize Miki as she gallomphs up to a woman who appears to be selling something, and then I pick out Dr. Kayesh as one of the people in the group.

"Whoa, better go see what's going on," I mutter to myself, whistling for my dogs as I walk toward the group. Immediately the two Sheepdogs forget their antics and heel to either side of my legs, making me proud. Of course now they're focused on the new people we're approaching but I'm sure they won't do anything unless I give them permission. (They'll just give puppy eyes and coyly wag their tails at anyone to beg for attention...)

"Dr. Kayesh!" I exclaim as we join the group. "It's good to see you again! And Miki too of course," I smile down at the purple blob. I notice another of the group has a red Blobbie and I look over, interested. "Oh, is this a Blobbie Day Out kinda field trip? I have Lem here, it can come out if we're all making friends." I reach into my pocket and withdraw the teardrop-shaped little critter.

"Hey Dr. Kayesh, I've been keeping some information on Lem here in my journal, does this meet your requirements for the volunteering position?" I show him a clipboard where I've been keeping some basic info and a photo of my little critter.

indigowulf

I happily hand out cookies to anyone asking. When the first box runs out, I open a 2nd. I figure, it doesnt matter if I pay for them, my friends daughter still gets the sale, and we are having too much fun for me to stress about selling right now.

I reach under one of the blobbies and try to find a chin or appropriate place to tickle, as long as thier humans don't object.

WildGrowths

(Glad to see everyone here and enjoying themselves!  There might be a very special blobbie available later; where it goes will be based on the level of activity in the thread.  *secretive!*)

"Well, she's eaten just about everything else," Dr. Kayesh replies to indigowulf, a hint of exasperation in his voice, despite the obvious fondness in his gaze when he looks at the purple blobbie.  "I can't see a cookie hurting her at this point."

Miki, in fact, is wiggling her butt in obvious excitement at getting a cookie.  She opens a little maw-- heretofore unseen-- and quickly slurps the cookie from indigowulf's hand.  She chomps at it cheerfully and is quickly back for another one.

Dr. Kayesh looks over in surprise when Ryuukokoro appears, but he has a smile for the beautiful dogs, kneeling down and offering a hand near them to sniff if they so desire.  He is swiftly distracted, however, by the clipboard.  "Oh, excellent, excellent," he says.  "YourLoveOnly is also keeping a good journal.  Has Lemonade shown any new behaviours or preferences for any type of foods?"

Miki is quite happy to steal all of indigo's attention, if the woman is willing, lifting her head to be caressed, as well as trying to beg for more cookies.

indigowulf

Smiling with delight, I continue handing Miki cookies, and tickling her under where her maw appeared, thinking that must be the chin. I make sure to keep count of how many she's eaten and what types, as I overhear the docter asking a new arrival about food recordkeeping.

Despite the pout on Miki's face when I say it, I ask YourLoveOnly if it's ok for Lemonade to have a cookie as well. Laughing at the little one wanting to be the only cookie-monster in the park, I give Miki yet another. "dont worry little one, there's plenty to go around!" I promise.

((Special blobbie? O.o))

A new woman joins the group and greets us. I remember I saw her at the lab earlier and am eager to see her blobbie again. "So, how is your Lemonade doing? I am so curious to see what progress all the blobbies are making. Mine tries to be up in the air a lot." I pause to catch my breath, then continue to fire questions at the woman. "I assume your Lemonade likes animals too?" I ask, looking over the two dogs that accompany her. "Sookie and my guinea pigs get along well and it seems to think my turtles are interesting too. I haven't introduced the blobbie to my cat yet, Sookie is still so small and my cat likes to hunt so I'm afraid he will harm her. Did you encounter any problems so far?" I wanna continue asking more questions, but then the woman with the cookies offers me one. "Well, Lemonade is not mine, but I would like Sookie to try one. Could I get one of the Thank U Berry Munch type? I think Sookie has a preference for fruit."

((I decided to use the real me instead of the secundi me, so I am using the pets we have in real life. And yes, I researched girl scout cookies xD Apparently Thank U Berry Munch is a new kind this year and it has fruit in it, so it fits Sookie ^^))

Ryuukokoro

Bright Eyes, my champion show girl, and her son Ryo... you wouldn't know they come from prime breeding stock now looking at them. They seemed to have completely forgotten any and all training and had attached themselves to the people around the cookies, both happily accepting petting from Dr. Kayesh and then sitting on their haunches at the feet of the cookie seller with shining eyes trained on her hands holding the open boxes.

"Hey, you two should behave," I chide the two dogs, then look at the cookie seller apologetically. "They know better, they're being very bad." I say this more to the two mooches than to her. "But if you're selling them individually, I'll buy a couple. Because they're horribly spoiled." The two dogs immediately started wagging their tails furiously, recognizing my tone of voice as one of resignation.

To Dr. Kayesh I give a reassured grin, glad that my notes so far are adaquet. It seems he's not the only one interested in Lem, either! "Ah, well, yes Lem can have a cookie too," I say to the cookie girl with a short laugh. "Sometimes I forget I'm supposed to be seeing what it likes to eat. I'm Ryuu, by the way."

Turning to the woman with the red Blobbie, my eyes widen a bit at her barrage of questions. She certainly has been thinking hard and studying these interesting critters! I immediately feel guilty that I've been 'hanging out' with Lem rather than studying it intensely, but I hide my unease with a smile and quickly organize what I know in my mind, giving the report to the owner of Sookie and Dr. Kayesh at the same time.

"Well I live down the road a piece at Dragon Heart Kennels and Stables. We raise show dogs and horses there, and I have some cats in the barn and a few chickens and geese. Lem here hasn't had any bad interactions with any of them, but really it's only met the dogs. (They come in the house all the time.) Lem's not that active, not like a dog or a cat. It's clearly awake (er, if you call it awake, I guess) but it spends most of its time safely riding around in my shirt pocket here." I patted the pocket where I just took Lem out of. "It likes to ride around with me all day while I'm cleaning the kennel and stables, and taking the horses out for a trot. But doesn't see interested in getting out of my pocket most of the time." I look down at Lem who is indeed just sitting in my hand as I talk about it, a quivering mass that doesn't seem to have much interest in moving out of its safe spot. The very tip of the teardrop shape was perhaps tilted toward the closest cookie, though.

"As for food, I usually just feed it bits of whatever I'm eating at the time. It seems to have a fondness for meat, it gets way more energetic... well, wiggly, it gets more wiggly, if I'm giving it pieces of handburger than if I'm giving it peas. Though it eats the peas too," I explain, "just not as eagerly." I laugh and bounce my hand up and down a bit. "Lem's a character, just a tiny one," I add with a grin.

indigowulf

I reach into the bag I was carrying cookies in, only to find a little blue blobby climbing onto my arm. I show it to the docter, who decides it must be attached to me and asks me to look after it ((finding a way to introduce a flatsale blobby without having previously roleplayed it- hope its ok?)). Excitedly, I name it Soothe, and begin making a journal to keep track of it's food preferences, as I have seen others doing.

WildGrowths

Dr. Kayesh nods thoughtfully at the information.  "Well, I think each blobbie has it's own personality, like people, so it only makes sense for them to react differently to things.  I can't think of anything useful to add to Lemonade just yet, but it's good to know that it's interested more in meats than vegetables."  He casts about for his clipboard and finally locates it near the shelties.  He scribbles a note, punctuating it with a question mark.  A glance at the paper would show a chemical formula.

Miki wiggles her tail excitedly, happy to receive so much attention and food from someone.  Still, when the other blobbies began coming out, Miki began to get distracted.  Her head tilted to one side then the other, her interest caught be something, though there's no real sign of what it could be.

Dr. Kayesh is only slightly surprised to see a blobbie suddenly on indigowulf's arm; lately he'd notice it was very difficult to keep them in their tanks.  He suspected quite strongly that Miki had something to do with this as well.  He's quite pleased that indigowulf is willing to take care of it now that it's out.

(If anyone else from the flatsale would like to jump in, Miki has conveniently spotted something in the bushes...)

I listen carefully to everything the woman named Ryuu tells me. It's so interesting to know more about each and every creature, even if they are not my own. Dr. Kayesh replies to her first and I nod my head in response. "It makes sense that they have different personalities. Mine seems to be the curious type, very energetic and I can't ever get it to sit still." I laugh at the little Lemonade who is just sitting there in Ryuu's hand, being its cute self. "I sometimes wish Sookie was that easy to look after. Yours doesn't seem to get into as much trouble as Sookie or Miki." Just as I finish my sentence a new blobbie shows itself. While the woman with the cookies takes care of this new arrival Sookie suddenly jumps out of my hand and hops back into the direction of the bushes.

"Sookie, stay here! Come back!" I yell. Of course the blobbie has no interest in obeying me, so with a sigh I start chasing it once more. I assure myself I should really look for a blob-sized leach someday to prevent Sookie from escaping. So far it hasn't gotten into any trouble yet, but who knows what it might do next and if it grows bigger it might become dangerous to others too. I can't imagine the cute lil' thing doing much harm, but I better keep a careful eye on it anyway.

I kneel down by the berry bush to pick up Sookie, who is nomming on yet another berry, when a movement catches my eye. I push the leaves apart and see a little orange blobbie, just sitting there. I reach out and carefully pick it up. With my other hand I pick up Sookie and then I walk back over to the group. "Hey, look what I found, yet another blobbie! Dr. Kayesh, is it okay if I take this one home? I would like to be able to compare the both of them, see how they interact with each other and how each of them responds to the same things. And of course I just like the thought of owning another one of these creatures." I pause for a brief moment, then ask the question I think is on everyone's mind right now. "How many more do you think are out here? Should we look around and try to find more?"

SeaCrest

SeaCrest wanders into the park, a brand-new clipboard in hand. She lifts a dark red blobbie from her shoulder, wincing as it keeps nibbling on her hair.

"Nordin, stop that!" she said, pulling her hair out of its mouth.

She scribbles something on her clipboard. "Okay Nordin, off you go!"

SeaCrest puts down the little blobbie, and it immediately leaps to its feet and runs over to sniff the other blobbie, a red one with three little bubbles above its head. "Oh, hello, YLO!"

WildGrowths

Dr. Kayesh watches as YourLoveOnly takes off after Sookie.  He belatedly thinks to grab Miki around her middle so she doesn't follow the red blobbie, but Miki is still quite interested in 'the cookie lady' and is nosing at the new little blobbie indigowulf found.

He turns at YourLoveOnly's question and shakes his head, more bemused than upset at the sight of another blobbie.  "Oh, yes, feel free to keep it," he answers.  "Though I don't have any idea how many others are wandering around right now.  I suppose looking around would be the wisest course, just to be certain there aren't anymore outside."  That thought sobers him.  He might be irritated at Miki for letting them out-- he could think of no other way for them to escape-- but he certainly didn't want any of them to come to harm.

While Dr. Kayesh is talking, Miki has decided to explore some more-- though she really likes the cookies and will return for more soon enough-- and has disappeared into the bushes yet again.

indigowulf

Soothe makes happy blubby noises at Miki as they both are near me and my cookies. Soothe slides down my pantleg almost to the cuff, and hangs there somehow, appearantly trying to entice Miki to play.

When Miki runs off into the bushes, Soothe makes a sad noise, climbing back up to my shoulder and settling in. I cant figure out why it doesnt want to climb down. Cold? Fear? Does the grass feel funny? I make a mental note to watch this quirk.

SeaCrest

SeaCrest snorts as Nordin darts everywhere. "Nordin!"

The little red blobbie runs over to indigowulf and manages to steal two boxes of girl scout cookies...and promptly gobbles them all.

"Nordin! Bad boy!" says SeaCrest, handing indigowulf a handful of money. "Here you are, Nordin just ate two boxes."

When Nordin hears Soothe, he runs around indigowulf's leg, patting his foot with his paws, apparently attempting to 'see' with his paws, much like a blind person. He squeaks after running into indigowulf's ankle three times in a row, and decides to give up and go around. He then runs into the other and trips over indigowulf's foot.

indigowulf

((patting her foot? lol))

I smile at SeaCrest, accepting the money. With so many boxes being raided by "the blob invasion", I expect my wallet will be quite a bit thinner at the end of this outting.

I see the little red blobbie circle then trip on my feet, and I feel bad. I reach down to offer to help it back up, and Soothe prompty stretches itself out towards him, holding onto my shoulder and reaching towards the new arrival. I am a little afraid Soothe may be being protective, I dont know it's reactions very well yet. Just in case, I stop reaching down, and hold my arm out far enough that one cannot quite reach the other if they decide to meet up close.

Soothe stretches out as far as it can, trying to somehow maintain hold on my sleeve and still reach this new red blobbie.

SeaCrest

((oops, sorry...keep mixing up the conversation earlier!))

"I guess you're cookies are really popular, aren't they?" SeaCrest says, laughing. "Nordin! Be careful!" She is worried that Nordin will fall or attack the other blobbie, what with it having paws and a tail. His ears twitch and he reaches out to sniff the other blobbie. Almost immediately, he pounces, rolling around and curling up indigowulf's arm.

"Nordin! That's not very nice!" SeaCrest scolds, reaching out, ready to pluck him off indigowulf's arm should he attempt to hurt Soothe. However, Nordin seems to be playing. Quickly, SeaCrest notes his behavior on her clipboard.

indigowulf

((lol np))

I laugh as the 2 seem to be wrestling on my arm. I'm a little unsure what I should do, so I stand still, crouched low to the ground in case either should fall. For the first  time since I discovered him, Soothe jumps to the ground, looking back at Nordin and quivering in what looks like mirth. Looks like he's ready to play on the ground!

I roll my eyes to Seacrest. "Sugar rush, maybe?" and lower my arm so Nordin can slide off if so desired.

SeaCrest

"Probably," agrees SeaCrest, fishing out a piece of wool for the two to play with. She dangles it in front of Nordin. However, he ignores her and starts chasing Soothe in circles around their owners.

indigowulf

Finally able to relax, I sit in the grass and let the little ones chase and run around us. Keeping 1 eye out for any trouble or attempts to run away, I jot down notes, comparing with SeaCrest's notes. After we compare, I relax and watch the activity all around. There sure are a lot of people here in the park today, and a lot of non-people too!

((gonna step away to watch a movie with roommates. I'm assuming we are holding a casual conversation or some such as they play. Feel free to step away and RP something else if someone pops in, Soothe will just come back to my arm for a nap once he's worn out playing, I dont want anyone stuck waiting for me :) ))

SeaCrest

((okay, have fun!))

Nordin manages to pin Soothe, wagging his tail before jumping up immediately. He then decides to chew on one of indigowulf's shoelaces and swallow some loose change that SeaCrest dropped.

"I hope that doesn't make him sick," SeaCrest says worriedly as Nordin jumps on the tip of a branch and falls down due to his weight. He then races around trying to catch a butterfly, jumping, pouncing, and returning, tail down, ears drooping, when the butterfly flits away into the treetops.

I introduce Bebbie to Soothe and Nordin. My newest blobbie is still shy and I hope it will start making some friends. Bebbie reminds me of a little lost kid in a playground, just sitting there hoping to be invited to play along.

Sookie noticed Miki going into the bushes, so she goes after her using a funny looking combination of hops and short distance flying. I decide to follow them, the bushes seem to be an interesting place and I want to watch Sookie very closely after her recent transformation. Winged creatures seem much more likely to escape than cute lil' wiggling ones that barely move. I know Bebbie won't go far and if it decides to go anywhere it's only going to follow after me. Sookie hops into the bushes, hops out and attempts to fly around it. I watch closely, after all I just found Bebbie in there, who knows what might show up next.

SeaCrest

Nordin bats at Bebbie with a paw, sniffing the new blobbie. Very quickly he makes up his mind to play, and starts trying to chase the shy new blobbie around. He doesn't seem to have much luck, as he runs straight into SeaCrest's knee, and then into indigowulf's.

"Hello there!" SeaCrest says, holding out a hand for Bebbie to sniff. "I'm SeaCrest."

WildGrowths

(Yay, so much RP!)

Miki is happily ingesting little bits of everything she finds, and seems almost to be searching for specific.  She disappears from sight and then might be glimpsed through an opening of the bush here or there, only to disappear yet again.  She gives a happy little squeak during one such interval of being out of sight.  She chirps and squeaks to herself and, suddenly, makes a sound of surprise.

She darts back out of the bush, running for Dr. Kayesh.  The scientist is nearly blind-sided by the small creature, and Miki scitters up his arm to curl protectively around his neck, squeaking in continued alarm towards the bush.

"Miki, what on earth is wrong with you?" he asks in surprise, and heads towards the bush himself to find out what has frightened her so much.  Miki remains curled around his neck, quiet now, and apparently pleased that her person was checking it out.

"Oh.  Oh.  Oh, dear."

When Dr. Kayesh pulls back out of the bush, he has something else in tow.

This little blobbie looks suspiciously like Miki did originally, though it is hovering above the ground, seemingly balancing on her little extra blobbie orbs.  When it steps, it dips down closer to the ground.  It seems perfectly calm and also pleased at being found.  It peers around curiously, watching those around it as Dr. Kayesh carries it back towards the others.

SeaCrest

Nordin, ever curious, sees Dr. Kayesh, Miki, and the strange new purple blobbie and runs over to Dr. Kayesh to investigate. Seeing him, SeaCrest follows.

"Hi, Dr. Kayesh! What's that you have there?" she asks curiously. "A wild blobbie?"

She pulls out a girl scout cookie, and holds it out to the Miki look-alike, glancing at Dr. Kayesh to see if it is okay to feed it.

((XD I love RPs, but I can never find one that actually keeps going...))

I watched all that happened and quickly walked up to the others. Sookie tried to use her wings to stay in the air for a little while to greet the new blobbie. This new purple thing was able to float, so Sookie immediately had interest in it. They could have so much fun together!

Bebbie decided Nordin was save to be around and followed after him, so they were now all surrounding Dr. Kayesh. "You found another one? How adorable!" I exclaim and slowly reach out my hand. I don't actually touch the blobbie so make sure I don't frighten it, but I bring it up close enough so that the new arrival can smell my hand or hop onto my arm if it wanted to. In my other hand I have some berries from the bush it appeared from. Sookie likes them, so I decided to take some with me to feed to her. Maybe the new blobbie would like to try them too.

SeaCrest

Nordin is very excited to have a new playmate, and chases Bebbie around Dr. Kayesh. SeaCrest looks interestedly at Sookie's new wings, examining them closely, but not too closely, while Nordin seems to be making a nuisance of himself to the birds and butterflies, chasing both them and Bebbie, although Bebbie is more easily caught than a winged creature.

Ryuukokoro

((Sorry for the late reply, I was stuck moving! Hope this is still active ^^;; ))

Lemonade, having made a few (maybe sniffing?) motions toward one cookie and then discarding it, was now trying to climb back into my pocket. I watched in amusement as the teardrop-shaped critter moved up my arm. Like a caterpillar, it seemed to use parts of itself for locomotion. By stretching a portion of itself forward and then pulling the remainder up behind to join the forward section. In this inching motion, Lem scooted up my arm and extended itself toward my pocket.

"What, you don't want to play with everyone else? What, are you an antisocial blob?" I jokingly asked it. The yellow critter slunk into my pocket without response. I didn't bother to pull it out again, since it seemed happiest there. I've never been the sort of person to push a creature to doing something it doesn't want to do.

Now with Lem at rest, I looked around to see what everyone else was up to. The others in our little group seemed to have broken off and gone their separate ways. I see two of them sitting in the grass while their blobs, one animal-like and red, the other blue with four little orbs in the air, play together. YLO is off chasing her blobbie in the bushes, which seemed to have grown a pair of wings! Well that was certainly interesting! I was about to walk over to talk to YLO to see what it was she did that made her little critter grow up, to speak.

Suddenly there's a loud bark behind me and I automatically whirl around, trained to recognize the sound of Bright Eye's alarm bark. It was dog speak for "I see something important! I have to tell everyone about this right now!"

I turned and saw my two Shetlands were crouched near one of the bushes, front paws splayed out, ears perked forward, very intent on the ground under the bush. Immediately I assumed they had corned a chipmunk or a bird and I whistled sharply to call them to heel to me. The Shetlands were well-trained and didn't have much of a hunters instinct, so I wasn't too worried about them actually catching something, but I was well aware how small creatures like birds and rodents had fragile systems. A really bad scare could even stop the heart of an otherwise uninjured bird, I'd seen that happen before. So I always made sure my dogs left small creatures alone.

Right now I frowned when neither dog answered my whistle, as if they didn't hear me at all. Their entire focus was on whatever was under the bush. "Bright Eyes! Ryo!" I called sharply. I saw Ryo's orange and white tail wag once, so I knew he heard me that time... But still neither dog moved.

"Grr, what the heck is going on..." I turned and stalked over to the bush to reclaim my dogs, annoyed and a little bit embarrassed. Of course the dogs had to ignore their training when I was here in public with a bunch of people I would probably be seeing more of. When every other time, they were perfect angels.

"Okay so what did you f--" I bent over my dogs to look but suddenly the female let out a sharp yelp and leaped backwards, splayed out on all four paws. Ryo did the same, then darted forward toward his mother, Bright Eyes, with a high-pitched whine.

"What is it?" I exclaimed, trying to examine the wiggling dogs. Suddenly I gasped and my hand shot out, grabbing Bright Eyes' purple collar to hold her still. The Shetland tossed her head back and forth in agitation, one paw reaching up to scratch at her face repeatedly.

I could see a bright green slimy thing wrapped around her muzzle, holding it closed.

"Aw crap, hold still!" I gasped at the dog, adrenaline coursing through me. My girl was in danger! Or so my instincts told me. Without worrying about what the stuff actually WAS--no time to figure that out now, I was worried Bright Eyes couldn't breathe!--I reached out and grabbed the green stuff around the dog's muzzle and gave a sharp yank.

To my surprise, it peeled off easily, and I released Bright Eyes' collar as soon as it was off her face. The dog gave herself a mighty shake and backed away quickly. Ryo followed her, keeping close.

I stared at the green thing in my hand. For a moment it just laid there, like a puddle of that Gak slime stuff you buy kids in the toy store. Suddenly the puddle quivered and then it started to move. My eyes widened and I held very still. It gathered itself together in the center of my hand, becoming a perfectly round ball, then suddenly stretched out to look like a snake with a little orb at the end of its tail. As the other end (the head?) picked itself up and seemed to look around with a wavering, dazed movement, I let out another gasp. I suddenly realized that this was another WildGrowth!

Well of course it seemed obvious now that the excitement was over with. I took a few minutes to hold the creature in my hand, waiting to see if it moved like it was injured or ill. But the pale green blobbie didn't seem very phased by the excitement. Now that it was back in its original snake-shape it moved around my hand and up my arm, moving with a slithering motion just like a snake, exploring the fabric of my shirt. I then looked around for my dogs and checked them out. Other than a lingering wary look at my arm, Bright Eyes seemed perfectly fine. Obviously the blobbie had scared her rather than actually hurt her.

I was just turning back to the group, looking for Dr. Kayesh to show him my new find, but as I scanned the group I couldn't see him. That was when Dr. Kayesh made a reappearance, walking out of the bushes with something in his hand. Hearing the other people's exclamations of surprise, I walked over to see what everyone was looking at. A small purple critter with four little orbs was sitting there in the frazzled doctor's hand. "Aww," I couldn't help but say with a smile.

"It looks a little smaller than the other blobs," I commented. "Do you think it's a baby, Dr. Kayesh? Do the blobs even have offspring? It looks to be the same shade of purple that Miki is..." I looked around for the doctor's purple critter to compare.

((Ack! Sorry I wrote so much, I didn't realize until it was done. I wanted to introduce my new critter. ^^;;; ))

WildGrowths

(Long replies are fine with me, though I do apologize it's taking me so long to get my replies out.  Sorry, sorry!  I loved how you introduced your new blobbie, Ryuukokoro!)

Dr. Kayesh gives an uncomfortable shrug as SeaCrest offers the little blobbie a cookie.  "I can only assume it's fine to feed it..."

The little blobbie, however, seems very uninterested in the cookie.  Her little round head area is up and peering around curiously and she stares (well, the intent regard seems like staring, regardless of her lack of eyes) at SeaCrest before being distracted by YourLoveOnly.

The purple blobbie reaches out her head extending one floating foot towards the hand.  She touchs it gently, but retreats just as swiftly.  She does not have any interest in the berries.

Dr. Kayesh looks even more uncomfortable by Ryuukokoro's question.  "It does look tremendously like Miki did at that stage."  He sighs and runs his hand through his hair.  He had no idea that they could procreate and even less of an idea of how Miki might have managed it.  Miki peeks up from around Dr. Kayesh's neck and makes an almost hissing sound towards the new blobbie.  She does not like the intruder on her person; Miki does not share well.

"Don't worry, Miki, it won't be staying with us."  He glances around at the people gathered round.  He didn't know how to pick someone.  "Well, I guess it'll decide who it wants to go with, if you're all amenable to that?"

(Yes, the new blobbie is looking for something rather specific to eat-- yegads-- and she will gladly go home with whoever discovers what it is she desires.  Watch out, it's rather unusual!)

Ryuukokoro

"Aww, you think it really is a baby? That's cute!" (Yes, it's true, I am a female and I have the normal female responses to cuteness, even with my tomboy nature!) I leaned closer to get a better look at the tiny creature in the doctor's hand.

As I leaned over, the slim green critter in my hand own got close to Dr. Kayesh's. My new-found blob arched up the first two thirds of its body, curving in an S shape and balancing on the third of its body/tail remaining. It swayed its "head" back and forth, looking remarkably like a snake... one that was about to strike.

"Oh dear," I murmured, curling my hand around the green blob's body and holding my hand out away from everyone else. Not that I was really afraid of the thing, since it didn't seem to have a mouth, much less anything resembling fangs. But this green thing certainly acted a lot more aggressive than Lem did, and I didn't want to take any chances.

"Um, this one my dogs found in the bushes," I commented with a nervous smile. "I'll be keeping a close eye on it until I learn more about it." After the doctor described how to win the favor of the little creature, I brightened up. "Oh, that's a good plan! Let's see what she ..er, I mean it would like to eat." With my free hand I dug around in my pocket, pulling out some Purple Jaboticaba. I held them out to the little purple WildGrowth.

SeaCrest

Grinning at Dr. Kayesh in all his discomfort, I wave and leave to play 'tag' with Nordin. However, he is nowhere to be found. Eventually, I find him in my bag, incredibly light.

"Nordin! Silly!" I say. "It sure is cute!" I agree with Ryuukokoro.

I ponder what it could be that the little blobbie wants to eat. "Buttercups?" I pull one from my bracelet (I made a buttercup chain earlier, not RPed...) and offer it to the purple blobbie.

YourLoveOnly

"They can reproduce?" I ask and quickly look over at my own WildGrowths. Sookie is now female so possibly capable of reproducing too and she is quite hard to watch ever since she developed wings. But really, how bad can it be to get another blobbie?

I continue to focus on the new arrival and smile when it reaches for my hand. "Awww how cute! And you don't like berries? Hmm, I'm not sure I have much else with me.. Wait, lemme try this." I take a piece of paper from my journal and offer it to the purple blob. Miki ingested ink before so maybe this one liked paper?

((I plan on writing longer replies, but my life is crazy busy! I haven't even updated my journal yet O.o))

WildGrowths

(Sorry this reply will be a bit short; I've had some things pop up irl.)

The little blobbie shows no interest in the Purple Jaboticaba; perhaps berries are too sweet for her?

The blobbie sniffs at the flower, but doesn't seem interested in eating it.  She might accept it as ornamentation, but she shows no permanent attachment.

The blobbie perks up a bit at the offering of paper.  This doesn't seem to be exactly what she's looking for, but perhaps YourLoveOnly is on the right track?

indigowulf

I see the people gathered as I come back into the park. I go check it out. Soothe, ever the generous soul, decides to offer the new blobbie an empty glass potion bottle, his favorite food. I dont know where he stashed that one, I thought I had them all away from him!

Too busy admiring the new arrival to notice Soothes ill-gotten goods, I dangle my keys in front of it.. looooook, shiiiiiney!

YourLoveOnly

I put the paper back in my journal and get out my other writing supplies: a pen, a pencil, a bunch of colored pencils and an eraser. I also have a sharpener, but that seems a bit too dangerous to offer. I spread out the supplies in front of the blobbie and wait to see if they are approved.

Ryuukokoro

"Hmm, she does seem kinda interested in that paper," I mention to YLO. "Maybe she needs something similar but in its more natural state." Reaching for the closest tree, I peel off a loose piece of the bark and hold it out to the small critter.

SeaCrest

"Paper?" I ask. "Hm..." I offer the little blobbie an old receipt. Nordin flops down by my feet, apparently exhausted.

Ryuukokoro

The pale green serpent-like WildGrowth, that I placed in my other shirt pocket for safe-keeping, wasn't interested in staying put. I didn't notice with all my attention on Dr. Kayesh's new purple critter, but my green blobbie wiggled out of my pocket and made a leap of escape. It landed in the grass at everyone's feet, looking a little dazed for a moment but apparently unhurt. Then it slithered away. Its "head" picked up off the ground all of a sudden and it froze, then turned directly toward the red creature at SeaCrest's feet and started moving in that direction.
