He wasn't here as a precursor to his kind; there really weren't a great many tsume/gryvern hybrids around, after all.  He wasn't here as some great explorer; having only 15% of his sight certainly made him lacking as such a journeyer.  He was here because he had been visiting his caretaker and she had been here.

Milovan had offered to go lounge about the grassy hills of Secundi and would catch up with sera later, when she was less busy.  The woman had gratefully agreed.

Now the hybrid felt his way across the deep, lush grass, staring at a blurry world of blue and green and wondered what exactly it looked like here.  His hands paused to pet the plants beneath him.  He had a strange allure, that others might still find exotic and intriguing here, that was a throwback to his father's genes.  It made him a very touchy-feely creature, though he tried to control his impulses to pet others, even if they often desired this of him as well.

He sighed, lonely, though afraid to meet anyone new.  Perhaps he could find a creek or pond if he walked long enough.

"Ohh, where did she go... I just found her again, I can't believe I lost her already. She'll kill me."

A large draft equine clomped his way through the Secundian grass, moving lightly despite his great bulk. The swishing grass stalks moved in his wake, but his voice could be easily heard over the soft sound.

Green grass and blue sky was all he saw for a long while. No living creatures--save some birdcall in the distance and little rodents skittering underhoof--could be seen, and certainly not the one he was looking for. Secundi was still a wide, heavily unexplored land. It wasn't unusual to walk for hours and not see anyone at all.

All at once, however, he did see someone. The russet and black fur stood out sharply against the greenery of growing things, and he braced his thick limbs to come to a quick halt. The creature wasn't one he recalled seeing before. He couldn't tell if the creature would be friend or foe.

But he wasn't the type to automatically assume the worst, so he kept a friendly tone in his voice as he spoke. "Hello there," he called. "I didn't expect to see anyone out this far. I'm Luin. Do you need any help?"

sera

Milovan heard a soft muttering long before the more tell-tale sound of someone stepping through the grass.  He turned his head in the appropriate direction, though he couldn't make out the words just yet.  He finally heard 'She'll kill me.'  Well.  That wasn't very encouraging.

Pale pink eyes sought for some sign of whoever it was, and finally thought he saw something almost cloud-ish coming towards him.  Maybe.  Okay, he really didn't have any idea at all if the movement he thought he saw was another creature or if he was just imagining things because he was looking so hard.

The faint sound of hooves touching grass, however, helped ease his concerns about not being able to see who came.  Equines were generally not that bad, and were less likely to try to eat him, despite the fact that he was a fairly large creature himself. Yay, dragon-esque blood!

His ears twitched forward when the stallion actually spoke to him and he aimed his gaze for about where he thought the head might be.  He was staring in the general direction of Luin's ears, but, eh, it was a pretty good go and he had no idea how far off he might be.

"Hello, Luin," the hybrid answered, keeping his own voice equally light and easy.  "I'm not sure if I need help, per say."  He tried to think of a segue into asking if Luin needed help, since he was the one living under a death threat.  "Perhaps I could be of assistance to you, somehow?"

No, that had just come out as rather awkward.  Curse his lack of socialization!  If only the creatures of his different parental types hadn't avoided him.

Luin turned his head and regarded the lithe creature with one sky blue eye. Usually he could gauge a being's persuasion by his or her general shape. The many equine species making Secundi a home were safe. Some of the others, especially the fanged and clawed, were not. However, this person seemed unique. He didn't have hooves nor claws, but what appeared to be nimble hands on his front limbs. His pale eyes had no focus.

He smiled, though. Regardless of what this person was, he didn't seem to be a threat. "Well thanks," he said at the offer of help. "I'm looking for my older sister. She's around here somewhere..." He looked up at the sky, since she was winged like he. "Anyway, I'm sure she'll turn up. Hopefully soon since she, uh, gets cranky when things go wrong." He chuckled. "So what're you doing out here all alone, uh..?"

It would certainly be difficult to ascertain just what Milovan was; neither of his parent species were well-known, after all, though both were somewhat draconic in nature.  Ish.  His mother, at least, was a type of canine dragon, which might explain some aspects of Milovan's build.  Perhaps.  Neither species, however, had ever seen Secundi.

Milovan perked up at the talk of a sister, and he wondered-- briefly-- at two siblings happy to spend time together.  Not that he disliked his own sister, Serce, but it could be very awkward for them to be together, and difficult at the same time.  Their abilities weren't the same, but their nature allure affected the other.  Far better to remain apart.  It was made worse by the fact that she was about as deaf as he was blind.

Their parents' assignation had not been kind to the children.

He caught the movement of Luin's head upwards, but he had no idea what it meant.  "What sort of things go wrong around her?" he couldn't help but asking.  He hurried on to answer the question poised by the equine.  "Oh, I'm simply waiting for my caretaker; she is quite busy today."  He obviously had little interest in what his caretaker might be doing, especially in light of his curiousity towards Luin and his potentially cranky sister.

Luin broke into a loud laugh, his head bent almost against his chest in his mirth. "Oh, what doesn't go wrong, according to her! She's one of those... you know the type, every cloud in the sky is an oncoming thunder storm."

He chuckled and shook his head fondly. "Well, I think she's foolish to get so worked up all the time. Not good for the heart! But I can't really fault her. She raised us, me and my little sister, after our parents passed away. She was always worried something would happen to us. And we were hardly the easiest foals to raise!" The mention of his deceased parents didn't cause much more than a flicker of sorrow behind Luin's eyes; it was an old sadness. His memories of them were faded and dim.

"We were separated for a long time," he added, his tone more serious now. "Not our own choosing. A long story, involving magic. But I just found her again, here in this land, Secundi. Of all the places!" He sighed with a mingling of exasperation and amasement. "Just an hour ago we split up to look for civilization, and I found it." He nodded over his shoulder, back the way he had come. "But now I can't find HER.

"And Toi's still out there somewhere," the big equine added in an undertone, almost to himself. Again his eyes scanned the sky, thinking of his little sister. "We will find her someday. Even if it takes another half dozen years like it took me to find Bergy..."

Luin blinked, only now realizing he'd been talking about himself for quite a while. "Ha! Sorry, I'm a featherbrain. I'll go on for hours if you let me babble. Who're you, anyway?"

((OOC: Hee hee, I usually play Luin as a kid, but the PU lineart looks so adult. This is fun imagining how he would act after some years have gone by. ))

(( He's super adorable, that's for sure. x3  How old is he supposed to be? xD;  ))

Milovan listened politely, finding the undertones in the stallion's voice at least as interesting as the words themselves.  Genuine love and affection merged with humour as he spoke of his older sister, and only a sadness, dealt with but still a part of him, when he mentioned his parents.

The hybrid absorbed the story thoughtfully, careful to not interrupt with word or deed.  He kept his head turned attentively towards the stallion, making 'eye contact' as well as he was able, though Luin didn't seem to be bothered at all by the fact that Milovan's gaze might not be perfectly correct.

He didn't catch the nod back behind Luin in regards to civilization, but he heard the equine's voice bob as though he'd made some sort of motion.  Milovan wasn't certain if the horse was talking about him, but he rather assumed not.  His ears pricked forward again at the mention of Toi and the search to find her as well.

Not just love and affection for his family, then, but a deepset desire to be around them.  It was fascinating.

"Oh, no, please don't be concerned on my part; I love sounds of all types."  He smiled lightly, fingers plucking at the grass gently; just enough to tug at the stems, not enough to pull them up.  "My name is Milovan; it is a pleasure to meet you, Luin."  He hadn't meant to not introduce himself, but Luin's talking was interesting enough to have distracted himself from common courtesy.  "Please excuse my lapse in introductions."

He paused for  a moment before offering, a tad ironically, "I haven't seen either of your sisters."

Ryuukokoro

((Usually he's 12, Bergsma is 18, and Toi is 6. I imagine a handful of years older in this scenerio. Whenever I have adoptables of some of them but not all, I rp them as looking for each other, awwe.))

Luin chuckled and rubbed his hoof on the ground. "No I imagine you haven't!" he said. "You don't see much of anything, I'm guessing." He didn't mean it derisively, Luin just wasn't the most tactful of young men. "But it's nice to meet you, Milovan.

"I don't expect you'd see hoof or tail of Toi here, anyway. It'd be too much to hope that she and Bergy ended up on the same world." He sighed. "We're family. We've always only had each other... And she's just a little girl, I'm worried about her out there all alone. Well. Heh. I guess she's not quite so little anymore."

He paused a moment to look back over the scene, the sprawling hills of green grass and the wide open blue sky, and then the little Secundian community tucked between the hills, home to a myriad of strange creatures all working together to colonize this new world and make it a safe and happy home. Then he shook his dusky blue and white mane, reproaching himself for his uncharacteristically somber thoughts today. He had to be the optimistic one of the pair or Bergsma pessemism would cast a damp blanket over their whole lives.

"Well, anyway!" he said with more hearty cheer. "It was nice meeting you! I should continue on my search. Sisters don't find themselves, I've noticed, heh heh!" He turned toward the sun climbing up to its zeneth, prepared to head out further east, away from the community at his back. Before he could take a step he stopped himself. "Oh, but.. do you need help getting back to your caretaker or something, Mil?"
