I just thought I would make a place for all the participants to keep up with each others progress throughout the month on November, especially since the widgets are down.

If you feel like telling us about your novel, or what you did if anything to get ready for Nano, maybe it will help newbies like myself in upcoming years.  Or even if you want to give a brief history of your Nano experience.

I guess I just thought it would be interesting to see who is participating and such.

I participated last year, but so minorly that I'm embarrassed that I even signed up.  I used my novel almost as a journal to keep up with my life and my thoughts.  Not a bad idea, but there isn't 2,000 words in each of my days, even with the stress and drama I live with.  Lol.  I do love the idea though and have always aspired to become a writer.  Since I haven't been RPing in a LONG time and I was out of school until last sememster, I think I'm pretty rusty.  But the point of NaNo is to stop procrastinating, right?  Yeah.  So I took my little red notebook and entered all my characters and their info into yWriter and started my writing yesterday.  So far, I am 2,246 words in, but Mondays are my busy day, so I still have another 1800 words roughly as I'm hoping to do 2000 words a day in case I need a day off.  Right now, I'm sitting in my finance class, listening to the professor ramble and flipping between writing and secundi.  Gotta love classes like this.   So for now... this is how I'm doing...

2246/4000 words TODAY
2246/50000 words TOTAL

nice motivation :)

I think I may use it as a way to keep track of D&D ideas, and write them out like a script or story. Thats about the only way I could get into it at this point.

I've always wanted to write a story just about horses, and I'm gonna be trying NaNo this year again since I kinda have a more structured plot now :) But I gotta wait until I get home xD

Both ideas sound good.  Sometimes just getting ideas out of your head, as for D&D, helps you create the story in your head.  I've started writing the story I have planned for this year in my head at least a thousand times and never have I been able to accomplish a meaningful plot until this last month where I was brainstorming like crazy for NaNo.  It finally just came out as I wrote and retyped and edited characters into everything.

I'm glad this is inspiring.  I wanted some help being inspired myself.  I'm not part of any particular region really on NaNo and it makes it hard to get involved on the website... but I thought perhaps here I could band with a couple of people to keep each other going.  I'm exhausted right now for example... but I want to get the rest of that 1800 word count out before I nap.  I'll be too busy the rest of the night to do anything.  :P

And I'm determined to keep up.  Right now, it's pretty easy to get ideas out and I'm a really fast typer so it's going well.  I had to take my typing class twice in high school because I was so slow before, but after that second class, I doubt many could beat me.  Lol.

well ive written the background scenerio for my D&D game, and detailed the "starter" adventure that will being the party together. Appearantly that took me 1018 words. However, untill I get a party together, I wont be continuing much.

funny, 10-18 is my birthday lol.

I think Im going to make a post with mine so I dont hijack yours :)

YourLoveOnly

Stupid BPD. With all these moodswings I have a hard time staying motivated..
I only have around 3K words so far.

If anyone wants to add me as a writing buddy: I am YourLoveOnly on there as well.
I love writing buddies. If I know people are watching me I might actually stay motivated to get some writing done ;D
Let me know if I can add you ^^

So pretty much these last few days have been epic fail for me...  But I have all day to play catch up.

This is what I'm starting with:

2,744/10,000 words TODAY
2,744/50,000 words TOTAL

Edit:

3,600/10,000 words TODAY-- when I hit 5k, I might actually feel like I'm getting somewhere.  I really have to quit stopping to procrastinate.  I was doing so well before...

Edit Again:

4011/10000 words TODAY.   4k hit.  Just another 1k at least in the next two hours.  If I could focus, I could make 3k...

And hoping to end with:

(10,000)/10,000 TODAY
(10,000)/50,000 TOTAL

Luv007

I've made it to 4862 words.  now if I can just make the last 138 words....

And at the end of the day... I made half of my daily goal.

5,014/10,000 TODAY
5,014/50,000 TOTAL

*passes out in bed*

I'm so exhausted that I am continually making horrible little mistakes.  So until tomorrow, that's going to have to do.  I just need to promise myself not to skip anymore days.

7,242/14,000 TODAY
7,242/50,000 TOTAL

I'm still soo far behind, but I'm catching up.  What is really slowing me down is typing in the character descriptions and just in general being distracted.

bewilderness

I'm at 11530 words...way way WAY behind but still plodding along.
