New Idea for Agency pets

I know some people out there have pets they just cant srll no matter how hard they ty, so their atuck wih them, or their inbred, or some other reason.
I was thinking mabye Silv could create a Resting Place where you can release your agency pet to and they are removed from the system, cant be sold or anything anymore. You can veiw their pet page, bt nothing else.

So alot like PIs releasing thing.
Its just an idea, but I thought it would be nice.
I dont know how you guys feel about it, but please dont be mean if you disagree.

TheLeet

I kinda disagree. I put a lot of work into colouring Feli and Noms and I know that some of them are not as nice as others but I'd be absolutely gutted if they ended up being "released"

Mmhhm, what Leet said. There are some FCFC I colour and even though it's my own adoptable, I still think "If this pet ever goes up for trade I'd love to have it!" xD;

Also, a few people would prefer to have pets traded back to them, if you'd gotten it from them, and then decided you wanted to release it I could cause offense and arguments.

And then there's simple old fashioned regret.
"Wow, that pet I released could really come in handy now"

ETA: Unless it could be controlled by an agency or the original pet owner?

For example, I wouldn't want any FCFC to be released. (So I will opt out).
But if (for example) Silv said quin could be released and I traded away my Yian Tacul I would want some sort of option that the original pet owner can set 'unrelease-able' or something to that effect...So I could protect my pets.

But all over I would suggest no x3;

Solistia

I think it would be nice to have for the automated pets here on Secundi that are not individually colored and uploaded by hand (like gidgits, wobbles, and horses).

Ravvana

I agree with Soli. I could see the option for auto-pets, but I too would be very sad to see Stable horses "released" after I put much of my time into making them.

Ryuukokoro

Well with the auto-pets there already is a Retreat option for both the Wobbles and the Gidgets. You can trade them in to the 'Wobble Retreat' where they'll stay for a while before being deleted from the system. Same for the Gidgets.

Personally I would like to see this option available at some point for Quin grades. I know more than once or twice I've looked at my Pet page and seen my Quin who have been part of breeding projects lone since finished and I find myself wishing I could stick them somewhere. And putting them up for trade doesn't seem to get any nibbles, from what I've seen of several trading threads.

Maybe a solution would be for the player to get a non-gaming account (Sil will approve them) and put your unneeded adoptables there? It will serve the same function as a release option, but you can go back and grab them later if you ever change your mind. :)

YourLoveOnly

-nods- Non gaming accounts are good for this. I wouldn't even mind to make a non gaming account for 'retired Quin' where people can send them if people prefer to have them all in one place (and of course the old owner could always have the pet back for free when wanted).

I disagree with releasing, I think every handcolored pet can have a loving home, some people don't mind inbreeding and every color combo has fans out there, you just might not get the trade you want for it, but in this case it might be a nice idea to give some out for free to newer users or whoever wants the pet <3 I like that option better than releasing.

Solistia

Perhaps the new account can be called "free to good home" and pets that are no longer being loved can be sent there, and people can take them for free at their leisure? :3

YourLoveOnly

That works too <3 I wouldn't mind managing this and if I did, I would give people who submit a pet the option if they want it available for rehoming or not. So people can submit pets that will be put up for 0 bid for whoever wants them, but they could also just send their pet there and leave it there without being rehomed (and of course ask for the pet back if they want).

Willow

I like what people have suggested towards non-gaming accounts, if there was one simply for 'Retired Pets', I do like that idea and it's less coding, not permanent and easy peasy :)

Plus people could decide to allow other/new USRs to apply for a pet when it goes into the account (via PM maybe), and then some new USRs can get a good start with pets, almost like an adoption center? <3

ETA: Kind of beaten to it xD;

YourLoveOnly

I think coding and through PM would be a lot more work, I think simply having a user make a non gaming account would be easiest. And then make a single thread where people can post links to pets they want to retire along with a note if it can be put up for rehoming. If yes then it will be put up for 0 bid and whoever bids on the pet first can take it. Or 0 buy, but I'm not sure if we can set pets to 0 buy.

Wildfilly94

I like the non gaming adoption idea. :)
Its not that I dont love my pets, I do so much but its so uosetting that its inbred, and if i hsd know that before I would never have claimed it. but shes so gorgeous id hate to give her away but no one will.buy an inbred pet. :/

The problem with having a single person run one account for all the various adopt types and peoples pets, is if somethign happens irl and they vanish, temporarily or permanently.

Personally, I'd want to opt my own adopt shop out of any such thing. I think personally owned non-gaming accounts would be he best thing here.

Also, for those pets you don;t wish to breed etc any more, you ca still use them in Secundi's site comps whenever it gets figured out how they can be safely run again.

ETA: And for those of you with inbred pets growing disheartened that no one wants them, there are those of us in the community who don;t mind such things and would happily give them a loving home.  The problem may be the issue of what to offer you in trade, I know personally I have seen several over time that I wanted to offer on, but did not have anything the person wanting to trade was looking for.  Or atleast, I didn't have anything they wanted that I was also willing to part with.  I can always do SC offers, and usually wouldn't mind reasonable SG offers, but those are rarely listed as somethign the seller is interested in.

So.. my point is, the animal isn't necessarily garnering no interest, it could very well be that someone wants it and just doesn't feel they have anything to offer in trade.

Maybe one account with multiple people having access to it then, including Silv so that when a user disappears Silv can always access it and the pets don't become out of reach for everyone? I do like that better than having a ton of non gaming accounts, although if someone wants to go that way they can do that of course, but if every user did that we would have so many inactive accounts with pets on it that it might be confusing for new users looking for pets to breed with etcetera

skysnolimit

I think that each Agency should have a foster home Agency account attached to it.  When people return that Agency's pets, then the Agency owner can decide what to do with them.  Or the person who returned the pet can specify that they're just storing them there and would like to reclaim them at some point.

That way, the Agency owner retains absolute control over his/her adoptables but it's still fewer accounts (and more centralized) than each Secundi user setting up his/her own non-gaming account.

If you have a Quin you don't want to keep, you can now automatically trade it to the Grade Expectations Ranch.  When trading it in, you can choose whether you want to have it put up for rehoming or not.  If you choose no, then the Quin will forever remain with the Grade Expectations Ranch.  The links for this are all found at the bottom of the Quinsta agency page, or you can just go here:  http://www.secundi.net/quinstatradein.php

Grade Expectations Ranch

*snicker-fit* That is hilariously punny, Sil. XD

Great idea! I like the idea of a place where other people can take up old Quin projects if they want. In fact, I have a grade or two I think I will rehome there right now... *skips off*
