Yruvian

Requirements: one internet connection and your imagination.

Purpose of RP: handing out the very first of the World of Maxic - Secundi lines.
The RP-thread: http://www.secundi.net/forum.php?topic=82.0

General WoM-RP Rules
* All rules of Secundi apply.
* A minimum of one paragraph of three sentences per post is a must.
* Please bold the name of characters you're interacting with, so the other person can easily find whom to react to without reading the entire thread.
* Keep OOC talk in this thread. The other thread is only for in character posting.
* The world is mine. Which means I decide how nature reacts to a character's interactions. If I tell you a certain tool doesn't work, it doesn't. Your character can gripe about it, can even refuse to acknowledge it and try again. It still won't work.

A strange new world extra rules
This is a non-owner event, but considering no one owns any Aerean Faeries - Secundi, Visitors and/or Venariens yet, that shouldn't be a problem. No PI adoptables can be used to participate.

Those of you who get to a specific part in the role play will have your characters Visitorified... At certain times in the role play, other critters may be given away. This thread will also see the very first Aerean Faeries - Secundi, who will be given out as well.

Use of this thread
Chat, but also OOC-comments, character profiles... and new releases for World of Maxic - Secundi. After all, most of the Secundi lines are a Work in progress. (Why does that sound familiar? May be because of a certain PI-thread.)

How to participate
Please post the following little character-form in this thread.

All characters are humans and come from a very advanced (but aggressive) society. They're on board of a scouting ship at the start of the role play. You may want to keep that in mind when deciding on certain aspects of your character.

Name:
Gender:
Profession: (think general science fiction or spaceships in particular. Use your imagination here: not everyone needs to be a crew member! Scientists, artists, students, ... the list is nearly endless. I will let you know if your profession has to change.)
Physical description: (aka what does your character look like? Specific clothing or items? Reference pictures are welcome. Remember the setting though. No Roman togas, knights in full armour and that kind of thing. No scantily clad harem dancers either.)
Character sketch: (Personality. General description. People can change, but that takes time. Make sure you can follow through on the personality issue.)
Other: (specific skills?)
History: (not necessary, but nice as background info)

Yruvian

My own form, can be used as an example
Name: Captain Ljaratan
Gender: male
Profession: Army captain (spacefighter/assassin)
Physical description: See pics

Character sketch:
Ljaratan is the ideal soldier: loyal to his government, well-trained and in very good shape. His main mistake and huge weakness is that he always follows orders to the letter... without questioning, without doubt. His government is like a god to him. They've raised him and trained him, gave him all the praise he needs... and they've made him into a blindly loyal little soldier.
If his masters tell him to kill someone, he doesn't ask questions. He takes his team, searches out the target and that's the end of it.
He doesn't like scouting/exploration missions, because there's not a lot of action involved.
Other: Ljaratan is mainly spacefighter pilot and assassin. He specializes in high tech ranged combat, has some experience leading a small team and has been trained in melee combat, strategy and other army related stuff. He never used most of his training and has forgotten a lot. Some of the knowledge may be hidden somewhere in his memory, but it will be sketchy at best.
As a pilot, he can't compete with true fighter-jockeys, but he is used to going in for the kill, even of unarmed targets. He doesn't show mercy and his attacks are meant to finish a fight as fast as possible.
History:
Ljaratan was orphaned at age 2 during a rebel attack. According to his file, his parents were high-ranking officials of the targetted base. All rebels were summarily executed and the young boy was taken into Conglomerate custody. Because the government always needs more soldiers, he was prepped for the army from the very start.
After finishing his training very young, he became the Conglomerate's number one hitman. He soon gained a reputation for being unstoppable when on duty. There wasn't a target protected enough to survive his attempts.
Ljaratan rose in rank like a shooting star, gaining several other assassins as his own team, to train and turn into killers like him.
His entire team learned to fly starfighters as a way to hunt down spacebound targets. They usually don't go up against other teams of starfighters and are no use in regular fighter to fighter battles.

Yruvian

Yes, you can apply to be part of Ljaratan's team of assassins, if you want to be a trained killer.

Yruvian

An example of an Aerean Faerie - Secundi (the only Secundi-exclusive line I have readied so far, but I'm working on the Visitors now).

Q&A
1: will minor powers still be allowed as in PI visitors?
Yes. Like on PI, visitors can have powers. You can add them under 'other' in the form.

Also like on PI, most powers will not behave the way the visitor is used to from his or her home world. It's what the 'the world is mine' rule is about :)

2: what are Venariens?
Venariens are the humanoid inhabitants of Maxic. They use the same lines as the Visitors and are mainly the same thing, but they are born and raised on this world. As a result, cosplays will always be Visitors. So will any character that comes onto Maxic in any way without actually being born there.

3: will it be only one world with space travel and all the humans coming from there, or will humans have colonized different worlds allowing for humans to have come from different planets at least for background purposes?
There is no limit on the amount of colonized planets as a rule. For the purpose of this specific role play, all visitors will have to be citizens of the Conglomerate though. (The Conglomerate itself is a group of colonized planets, so there can even be differences there).

4: Aggressive why? different fractions/colonized planets fighting each other for more desirable planets/minerals or something else?
The Conglomerate is in essence a dictatorship. Suppression is a given. All dissenting voices are silenced.

They're aggressive against 'unbelievers', outsiders and rebellions. Every invention is used to 'colonize', which means to eradicate or enslave a new world's inhabitants and take over its resources to enrich those in charge.

Of course a lot of people don't like the Conglomerate very much... but every word spoken against the rulers ends in imprisonment, disappearance or death (which means basically the same thing on all three counts.) Ljaratan's team is one of those tasked with silencing those that don't think the way their masters do.

(Needless to say, they'll have some trouble on Maxic. I'm not about to have a bunch of assassins take over my world.)

5: technology wise, teleportation, tractor beams, fighters and shuttles of course but any larger ships( "mother ships")? and what would they carry be used for if so?
Conglomerate mother ships carry colonists, armies or 'criminals'. They're a lot bigger than anything we'll encounter in our Role Play though.

6: will visitors that were played in PI be usable in secundis?((no connection to the PI rp, just the same character)) or have another idea in mind of combining the two? O.o
Previous visitors to Maxic will be usable in future role plays. I will request new physical descriptions for them, but they'll be made into Visitors as well. I had intended to make them into graphical versions ever since I started making the very first Checkmate any way. Now they'll have their very own adoptable line ;)

7: can there be more than one Visitor made per person?
Yes. Aside from role plays, the only ones available will be cosplays though. They will be limited in the amount you can RP in one and the same RP, but that's all. You can decide to change your Visitor each time, if you have that many.

Another part of the original idea can now be implemented too. Because WoM now has a database, characters will be able to learn skills and powers through role plays. The Faeries will be able to learn new powers. Role play Items will also be available later on.

Calomel

Name: Calomel
Gender: Female
Profession: Doctor/ Nurse/ Medical Professional

Physical description: Calomel is a woman of medium height, roughly five-six'ish, with light red to strawberry blonde hair. Her hair is kept long, falling in soft waves to near her shoulder blades when she lets it down. Normally it is left pulled back into a neat bun when in public or working. She's an older woman for a colonist, in her late third decade or perhaps even beginning her fourth, belied by the strands of silver weaving through the coppery hair at her temple. Soft grey-blue eyes crinkle at the corners when she smiles, which is often. She is beautiful, in a very classic and classy way.

Character sketch: Calomel is a kind soul who tends to often fill a motherly or grandmotherly role with many of her younger patients. Always smiling, she believes very strongly in positive bedside manner and makes it a point to visit her patients even in her off time. She's a sucker for little kids, loves cats, and drinks her coffee with sugar and cream. Cally also enjoys gardening though she's not terribly good at it, merely passable. She's as quirky as she is sweet, collecting knick-knack gifts from patients and owns one of those red 'christmas' sweaters with kittens and the little glitter pom-poms on it.

Other: Calomel possesses a 'gift' for healing even she doesn't fully understand. Difficult surgeries that pull through seemingly by miracle, illnesses cured with a touch, or a patient brought back from the brink of death. She chalks these things up to coincidence, for she has no real 'control' over this ability. Just a feeling and a prayer. Healing in this way leaves her weak and dizzy, often ravenously hungry. The greater the 'miracle', the weaker she becomes. That energy has to come from somewhere.

History: I wish I knew more about the world to build a better history for her, but here goes...

Calomel studied medicine at a prestigious University for many years before earning her Doctorate, graduating among those at the top of the class. Not particularly bold or forceful as a young woman, she worked in 'free clinics' and did a lot of pro bono work before deciding to apply for a job at a real hospital. She fell in and out of relationships as all young women do, though never sacrificed her work, the people always needed her.

Eventually, she was transferred to a medical facility that catered primarily to the military. She patched up soldiers, learned a great deal about the worlds and reality, and began forming her own silent opinions.

Then the hospital was bombed. A group of violent dissidents drove a truck into the emergency room door, shattering glass and metal everywhere, and detonated themselves. The hospital burned, and while Cally survived, many did not. She went through counseling for a while, and the opportunity to escape presented itself in the form of a one-way ticket on a colony ship. She jumped on it, applying as a seasoned doctor. Her resume was pristine, and the fellows in charge snatched her up like the precious commodity she was.

Biadora

*reads requirement* drat, I have neither  ;)

I might have an idea for a character, but the one I have in mind would basically be a reuse from a dead RP I once joined, also be a Doctor, but quite different from the one already stated.

When I have waded through more of my backlogged PI stuff, I will come back and post him, unless you think one doctor is enough, Yruvian?

*partial description so you can tell if he is too mature rp-wise or not

Name: Steffanie Marcelus Sohmar
Gender: Male
Profession: Medic/ Scientist
Physical description: 28 years old, 1.65 tall, so short for a guy but it is good to be short onboard a spaceship.
Italian japanese mix (looks wise, I realise it is a different world), and grew up on different corporate sites in the world.
He has soft brown eye and pitch black hair. His hair is usually cut short, but when he forgets to cut it and it becomes more of ear-length, the tips of it gets a bit wavy.
He is reasonably fit, but far from muscular. More the bony type of body structure.

Character sketch: (Personality. General description. People can change, but that takes time. Make sure you can follow through on the personality issue.)
Socially awkward, he tends to stick reasonably quiet.
He can become very talkactive when it comes to fields he knows or likes, like biology etc. His upbringing makes him a bit of a stiff and growing up in that corporate has made him having a hard time to truly trust others -too much backstabbing going on between people due to wanting to advance.
He is quite shy, and have a hard time express his feelings (since he hasn't exactly been encouraged to show them).
When he works, he can get 'into the zone' and focus fully on it, forgetting to eat or sleep until he is finished (and then more or less collapse). And he is very good at his field, it seems like he has an uncanny knack for getting it right even if noone has any clue what they are supposed to do.
Which is the reason as for why he has survived the hush hush fields of business so far.

It would have to truly be something special to get him to shout out orders. He is very much a follower, a worker, and far from a leader. He probably has a diary in which he complains about people not listening to him and writing down the right thing to do, instead of trying to tell his boss the correct procedure.

Other: (specific skills?)
He easily becomes addicted to stuff. Or maybe not so much addicted, as getting bad habits/ticks. ((a nervousness issue I think))
Entering the spaceship he had to lay off caffeine and the stuff he used to smoke to calm his nerves.
He is now instead addicted to lollipops, and can rarely be seen without one.
He seems cursed with bad luck, or maybe he simply am a bit clumsy??

History: His parents work for a large corporate industry. They are more or less owned by their corporation. For him, the choice was either to follow in his parents footsteps, or to join the army.
Too weak for the second, he picked the first, and had his degree sponsored by the company.
Bright, but not a genius, he had to struggle hard to get good grades.
At first he studied economy, later switching towards biology, as it was his secret wish to become a vet.
When it turned out he had a knack for the medical field, his sponsors stepped in and more or less dictated what he was to study.
Graduating 5 years ago, he at first was sent through basic military duty in the corporations personal army branch, to experience first hand medic work.
When the superiors found him trustworthy, albeit too weak for the real battles, he got sent to a different, secret branch. There he was set to work on projects ranging from medical research to genetic tampering, or worse.
The last project was in the category of 'this never happened', and has left him with nightmares and a mental breakdown.
Due to this, he got the option of going to space. The corporations hold on him is almost total, but he leaped at the chance -anything to get off That project.
Officially he is a junior doctor.
Unofficially? Who knows what extra orders his corporation sent along.

Yruvian

No problem with having more than one doctor on board, biadora.

For now, I'm struggling to get a hold of my head again though (fighting the flu right now, which is why I'm not around much right now.)

Midnight Phantom

#8
lol O.o almost glad not playing  Estrian  at this moment,  lots of
doctors/healers XD

Name: Trisuri

Gender: male

Profession: statistician/assassin

Physical description:
Trisuri is about 6'0 well tone but lean with straight black hair  bangs
that rest on the side of his face  the rest is little past shoulder
length hair.  His eyes are a silvery/grey color and facial expression
is usually neutral. He usually wears civilian clothes unless forced too.

Character sketch: (Personality. General description. People can change,
but that takes time. Make sure you can follow through on the personality
issue.)

Calm and hard to rile up Trisuri gives the impression of sometimes being
emotionless or just non-caring.He likes to work subtly, listening and
observing building up his own picture a with information he can find. He
also is pretty bad at jokes and knows it, also has a dislike of dragons in movies and books.

Other: He has the ability to affect the shadows and the light around him
to either cloak himself in shadow at night or turn invisible in the day
for short amount of time, it is something he can control with
concentration, not just being able to use it but not to let it go out of
control such as when he is afraid or surprised. The risk of being unable to control his power is one reason he rarely lets anyone see his more calm or "humorous" side to those same effects. He
has no idea where his abilities come from other than they leave him very weak and shaky even unconscious depending on the amount of time it has been used.

History: Born and raised in a rebel family, his mother was a rebel soldier and his father an ex Conglomerate soldier. He traveled from place to place with his parents who dealt with gathering information and leaving small "surprises" at different Conglomerate bases and cities. Around 5
years old he witness their death in a raid by the Conglomerate force, his own powers manifested from his fear and hid him from the fighting.

His was hidden until he fell unconscious for the over use and was whisked away by another rebel to their base, after finding him alive in the bodies left behind. At the base he was signaled out for special training until he was of the right age to join the Conglomerate soldiers as a spy for the Rebels. His back story included being a child of mercenaries to cover up his knowledge of some of the basics and his hard countenance for death. He was fairly good at developing strategies and attack forms to be used and with more training eventually was placed on Ljaratan's team.

He tries not to take stupid risks but if he is able to not be caught or have it traced back to him he will sometimes cause small accidents here and there but not often, other wise just another normal member who tries to be in the background, not hiding, just out of the way.

Is this okay? (I think there would be many orphans in both sides but yea x.x;; I can change that and the powers as well if they are to much ))

Yruvian

A traitor on Ljaratan's team? That would explain about some of the targets disappearing from view before being hit... always figured it was someone in the administrative chain of command. His powers are not a problem and seem to be quite an asset to an assassin.

One question though: does Ljaratan know about them or has Trisuri kept them secret from his team?

Estrian would have had some competition in this group alright. lol. I wonder how they'll all adapt to what's awaiting them... It'll be one bumpy road ahead, that's for sure.

Midnight Phantom

::pats Estrian::

Trisuri would have tried to keep them a secret from the rest, but Ljaratan could have seen him used them once or twice when he didn't know, up to you hehe.

Yruvian

Well, Ljaratan can be quite observant when it's about his team, but if Trisuri was careful not to use it with him around, he wouldn't have found out. So I think the secret will be safe for now.

Biadora

If it helps, my guy is more of a scientist. Turned doctor since I guess the teams would have more use of him that way.

Btw, I dislike this site by one reason -by some reason it turned my pw into using capital letters. I never use all capital letters when doing pw's.. and writing the right pw not using capital letters gives me the 'wrong pw' message x(
So far I have had to look it up each time I have logged in.

I will edit the first post when I finish his description.
