Your character needs to be in my novel! :D

Hey guys!

Waaay many years ago I wrote a novel for NaNo and in the story the main character found a utopia where all kinds of birds lived together in harmony. At the time I was an avid RP'er on the Pykiin RP boards, so I asked everyone if they wanted to submit one of their RP charas as one of the birds the main character would run into. It was fun to do a little shout-out to all my friends in my writing. ^_^ (PonyMama might remember this! She was part of the Pykiin forums with me.)

I'd like to do that again this NaNo! But this time I'd like to give a shout out to everyone here on Secundi!

In this story the main character is Cosmit, a young wolf who lives on Howl's Island, a fantasy island in a parallel dimension brought to life by the imaginations of people on Earth. The island is populated by any fantasy creatures you can imagine. The only stipulation is that they're animal-based, not humanoid creatures. (There's a reason for this that is made clear by the end of the story.) So for example there are aquines (mer-horses) but not mermaids or centaurs.

I would love it if everyone here on Secundi would choose one of your characters who would make a cameo in my book. The scene I have in mind is after Cosmit has been lost for a long time in the wilderness of the Darrin Forest, he stumbles upon a valley tucked between two mountains where a bunch of creatures on Howl's Island have come together and formed their own community and their own government, living apart from the rest of the island, hidden from Howl's view. He stays there for a short time and then moves on with the story. Mostly I need background characters for this scene, characters that Cosmit will observe as he walks through the valley, and might speak a bit to some of them.

If you would like have a character in this scene, please post here with the character's name and description. It can be anything from a talking buckskin Arabian stallion to a griffin to a pink tabby-striped housecat! It doesn't have to be an adoptable here on Secundi either, but it could be if one of your adoptables is a character you care about. :)

Disclaimer: If the book ever gets published, I am subject to the whims of my editor and he/she might make me change names, scenes, etc. before the book is published so I can't garantee the scene will survive to the final version of the story. But all the Secundi charas will be there in the draft when I'm done writing. :)

Oooh, fun!

Name: Noonie
Gender: female
Description: Her body is that of a young cheetah, not quite a cub anymore but defenitely not fully grown either. Despite having the build of a Cheetah, her pattern has tiger stripes! They aren't your normal color, instead they're somewhat colored like the rainbow. The stripes have five colors sectioned off in blocks, not a repeating pattern. Starting at her head and moving towards her tail the colors in order are a sky blue, lime green, pale yellow, soft orange and hot pink. The base of her fur is off-white and her eyes a sky blue, brighter than the color of her stripes. Finally she has a couple off odd markings, a little sun at the tip of her tail, a heart on her forehead and a rainbow on white clouds on her rump.
Personality: Like her bright coloring Noonie's personality is also a bit light a rainbow; bold and radiant. She's a very high energy girl who loves to ramble your ears off about anything and everything. She's very curious and eager to learn, known to ask a lot of questions but easily distracted by other shinies.

Ooo she'll make a perfect character for the scene! She fits right in with the theme of Howl's Island. :D Thanks!

Winged

Don't have much of a backstory for him but here's my Kelpie :D This sounds fun!

At first look he looks like a regular horse, but has a slightly mythical appearance. At times he can appear to be made of water. His coat is a dark dappled, stormy blue, with silvery green mane and tail that appear to be dripping water. On his face there is a thin white star with a few white flecks on his nose, and his eyes are a dangerous grey-blue with some flecks of green.
Based on the Scottish myth of a Kelpie, he is a stunningly beautiful horse that lives in the Scottish lochs and tempts people to him before drowning them and eating them. So he has a wild and dangerous personality, and answers to nobody but himself.

I don't have any art yet, but that Stable horse of him is lovely! Here's my post for him: http://www.secundi.net/forum.php?topic=3781.msg114104#msg114104
Owner of Gliders!

Find Love would totally like to be in the novel! Or F.L. If Find Love seems like a silly name. She's a bit of an airhead, more prone to having fun then anything. She's a loud mouth obnoxious thing too, more prone to shouting to make sure she's heard then anything else. She is horrible with names. More apt to forget then to remember. Though, say if your name was Sally she'd think it was Sandy. So she gets it close, but no Kewpie doll. Pretty much, you can have free reign with her. She's had many incarnations over the year, having many sorts of wings, and no wings. So she doesn't have to be he fairy pony that she originally is. She can be transformed to fit whatever you need. Though size wise, she is a wee bit smaller then average.

Eee I love Kelpie and Find Love! :D The story wouldn't be complete without 'em! Thanks!

PonyMama

If you want to add my fursona in there, but with a different name then PM.

So my blue Lemur with pink through her hair, and the name Sauda?

I don't really have anyone else but Uzuri and Dziko, if you wanted to use them instead, but they have no actual critter associated with them

Silvanon

I've been thinking on what character to volunteer, and I think perhaps Kyrienev the drigus (plural is drigetti) would do.

I had to track him down in the wayback machine to get his image.  XD  The mares from his herd are there too, if you want to include more than one drigus -    http://web.archive.org/web/20000816210459/http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shire/2263/desert.html

Man, I should redraw him one of these days.  Anyways, a drigus is, as the old site describes, "a cross between a horse, a tiger, and a dragon, with a little something else thrown in."  Each drigus gets a unique blend of the three, though they all have tiger markings, horse mane and dragon spikes.  Kyrienev has a horse's body, a dragon's head feet & tail, and a tiger's ears.  He's a polite and mellow guy most of the time, though he can get pretty fiery if he thinks you're a danger to his family.

Sauda sounds perfect PM!

Ooooo those drigus are a great design, Sil! Thanks for posting! And I would love to see your take on them in your current art style someday ^^
