So I know a few of us play Sims, and because I absolutely love this game, I wanted to make a thread dedicated to our favorite sims, or even just those sims that drive us crazy!

Now I know everything is run by the game's diagnostics and they're just pixel people, but sometimes it seems to me that no matter how simmilar I create my sims, some of them just act so differently from the others that it amuses me. I'm sure we all have sims like that, and I wanna see em' !

So, this thread is for those sims who are just plain weird, those times when they do something completely crazy, or just post your personal favorite out of your bunch! Feel free to make multiple posts about different sims, give an update on your sims, or just tell us about something crazy that happened while you were playing that day. Anything goes! ^^ You can even tell us about custom content you've created, or just post strange looking sims, or particularly beautiful ones! Even if you've just found a  new peice of custom content  you're excited about, go ahead and post about it.

This thread is for everyone who plays Sims, no matter what version you have! ^_^

Well, I don't have a screenshot of it (I tend to forget to take screenshots when I'm super involved in gameplay) but my absolute favorite house I've created to date is my Faire Castle - a 3 story, Faire Folk themed castle with an enclosed courtyard, perimeter fence, kitchen garden area and even a stall with training equipment for a horse.  I shall have to take screenshots of it next time I play.  If you have an account on the Sims 3 website and are logged in, you can see it here:

(Fair warning - I used content from the Pets and Generations EPs and the Faire Folk Indoor/Outdoor and Hacienda store sets, so if you don't have those sets or EPs it may not work properly for you.)

I love it spring! I'll have to try it out when I finally get my hands on Sims 3 ^^

I love playing my Sims 3, whenever I find time to play. I don't really have a favorite, when I get bored with one family I play another.lol

Kadana Sorano

Crazy Sims..

I have (had) a sim (a recreation of my assistant manager) who was crazy.  It was my fault, I guess.. since 1. I let my manager pick the traits she would have and 2. I gave the sim 100% free will.  BIG mistake, on both counts lol

She gave it the insane trait..  which I had never used before.  She also had the loves outdoors, party animal, and perfectionist traits.

So right away when she moves into her home, she stands around inside staring out her window, and muttering to herself.  She goes from one window to another, all day/night, just gazing out the window and muttering.  I had to force her to go eat and use the bathroom, and she wouldn't go to be no matter how many times I told her to, she ended up passing out on the floor beneath a window.

Day 2 had her complaining of dirty dishes, but unwilling to wash them, she instead wanted to paint.  She painted a picture that looked like nothing more then a black canvas.  But she was thrilled with it, so I hung it for her lol  so now she has the painting and the windows to stare at.

By day 4, the house was filled with the green "stink smoke" and flies buzzing over dirty dishes piled everywhere, at which point I had her hire the maid service.  She calls the maid service and then deviates from her normal routine to go sit in the bathroom, on the edge of the tub, and talk to herself.  She'd get very excited all of a sudden, jump up and down clapping and saying "woohoo!" over and over again before resuming her seat and her self conversation.

When the maid showed up, instead of letting him clean, she drug him to her room for a pillow fight.  This is the firt time (that I can remember) that a sim ever interacted with the help this way, without me tleling them to talk to them, hang out etc.  I was a bit surprised, and curious, and decided to see what happened.  Well, she kept the poor maid there playing pillow fights until he was so exhausted he wen to nap in her bed.. at which point she finally used her bed for the first time, and joined him there.

So the first day she meets this guy, she has him as a sleep buddy lol  and I'm going "geeez!"  Around 2 or 3 am he jumps up and says its getting late he needs to go, and leaves.  At which point my sim threw a tantrum, started stomping around, turning in circles, screaming, and ripping at her hair.  Then inexplicably she wanted to buy a  book, so off to the book store I send her..

I forget what world were in, but there is a river area, and to get from my girls house you drive down this road, turn at the river, drive down the river till it becomes a lake, go around the lake, then over into town.  But my girl, decides that that's too much trouble, and instead drives her car down the road, and then jumps it OVER the river to get to the other side.  At which point I spewed soda over my desk in surprise, she is the first (and only) sim I have ever had to do that.

At the book store she went in and got some books, comes out, and spots some people across the street, she wanders over and begins chatting with them.  Total strangers.  She'd wander form one to another chatting with them, and now and then stopping to argue with herself.   Eventually she latched onto this one guy and talked and talked, and every time he tried to walk away (having various thought bubbles.. bathroom, food, sleep etc) of needs he needed to fill, she would stop him and keep him there talking to her.  He was an old man sim, and she starts flirting with him (she is a YA) while she chats, and he is all "eewww" and making the push away gesture, and she just keeps him there, he ended up wetting himself while she chatted him up, and it didn't faze her one bit, she just kept on..  He finally just sat down on the ground by a picnic basket and started eating and ignoring her while she went on and on..

It was the first time I ever used the insane trait, and so I dunno if it is always like this, or if it was the unique combination of her traits or what, but she was very frustrating (and hilarious) to play.

Oh my god Kadana, she makes my sims look positively tame XD It sounds like they have alot more available in the way of personality for Sims 3 tan sims 2, making for alot crazier sims XDD I don't know whats funnier, the fact that she drives over lakes or kidnaps people and talks them to death XD

springacres

Oh wow, Kadana, that sounds hilarious!  I haven't tried creating an insane Sim yet but now I want to.

Kainukun

Wow Sorano-San that actually made me laugh fairly hard. I might have to buy the Sims now and give one the insane trait and see what happens.

Kainukun, Sims is a LOT of fun.  But be warned, it's also a huge time suck.  You can get addicted very quickly, and it's so incredibly easy to lose track of time while playing.

You should also be aware of the computer issues side of it.  I'm not sure if others have experienced this or not, but I have to keep my room like an ice box in order to play.  It very quickly heats up my machine, even with the ac set at 60 degrees.

It wasn't "quite" as bad on my other machine, that was actually built specifically for Sims and WoW; but it did still cause that one to get hot too even.

I've gotten into the habit of setting a timer when I play for an hour, when it goes off I check the tower and see how hot it is, then either shut sims down for a bit, or play for another hour (depending how hot it was) and then shut it down for a bit.

I have to use the timer though, otherwise I'll play for hours and hours, until my computer crashes, and then be like what? but it was only 5 minutes!  ..Oh wait, it's been 6 hours..  Like I said, a time suck.. but a very enjoyable one :D

I've read that they are doing some changes to Sims 4, to make it run easier and use less resources etc.  But I don't know for sure, just rumors.  I can;t afford Sims 4 right now.  And Sims 3 is still not fully explored by me yet, so I'll be a while before trying 4.

I had a laptop that did that. It was a dell. It burned me a few times actually playing sims. My new laptop doesn't do that though. It's a toshiba. Toshibas are pretty good with keeping cool. Mine has never gotten even close to hot before. Buuuutttt... My island paradise is almost completely un-playable. :( it freezes and glitches all day and it's just impossible to play which sucks cause I adore that game. All my other ones play great though. I plan to buy sims 4 as soon as it's out. Omg so excited for that!!!!

Also, I definitely need an insane sim now I think xD sounds like so much fun.
