Ryuukokoro

((OOC: I have two special customs coming, so this RP needs to take place before they are revealed! ^_^ This is open for anyone at all to join, it's just for fun and character development.))

The winter was far, far from the little Faette's choice time of year. The snow honestly frightened her, so cold and distant. All her memories of happier times included warm grass and a cool breeze battling the heat of the summer sun. Why had the world changed so much?

The glare of this bright sun brought no warmth, only dazzling her eyes as it bounced up at her, reflected off the pristine white ground. She had been on the move since sunrise, when she had crawled out of the cave where she had spent the night before. She didn't have the strength left to trot anymore. She trudged forward resolutely, pushing her small body through the thigh-high drifts, her cyan eyes squinting against the glare. Exhaustion made the feathers of her wings quiver, useless against her sides. She hadn't had the strength to fly in days.

She was so tired. And hungry. But she couldn't stop to rest or dig through snow to look for frozen grass underneath. The Fields were safe, everyone said that... but she had no herd of her own to protect her, no one to offer the comfort of their presence. She felt so exposed out here, all alone.

Every time she stopped to catch her breath, the skin between her shoulders prickled, as if she were being watched. She knew her black and gray body stood out like a beacon against the winter ground. Too dangerous. She was all alone, so she couldn't stop. Those were the only two thoughts chasing each other through her head, making her little legs kick onward when the rest of her wanted to fall down and wish for sleep.

Toi stumbled for the umpteenth time and finally, the last time, she did not get up again. The snow pressed against her legs and belly, cold and numbing. She just wanted to sleep . . . just for a little while. . . .

"Hey, hey there. Hey, wake up, little one. This is no place to be sleeping."

Toi's heart hammered in her chest. How long had she been dozing!? Her neck craned up . . . and up! Above her towered the tall form of a winged tricorn Faequine. She must have been asleep, to not notice such a bright creature's approach. The lime green and pink Fae could be seen from a mile off, Toi was sure, and her own body looked positively drab in comparison.

She wanted to get up and run. She wanted to let out a sound of fear. Strangers were so frightening! But Toi was too exhausted. Her legs wouldn't obey her.

Perhaps the large Fae could see it in her eyes. "S'okay, calm down," she said, her voice low and soothing. "No one's going to hurt you. You look like you've had a rough journey. Can you stand?"

Toi looked away, not able to find her voice.

The Fae tsked. "All right, it's okay. Come on, I know a cave not far from here." And with that, the Fae bent down her long, graceful neck and used her horns gently to manuver Toi up onto her back. "I'm Citrus Champagne," she said amiably as she set off at a light trot, not seeming to mind that her new baggage still hadn't spoken. "It's a mouthful, I know. Feel free to shorten it."

Toi did not have time to think of how to shorten it. Between the stress on her body and her fear, she had fainted again.

Yruvian

((OOC. I hope everyone includes the few humans walking the Fields? Levi has been rather abandoned lately due the size of my herd lately. Probably one of the herd will come looking for her though.)

Leviange sighs a little, staring at the snow all around her. She can't remember seeing this much of it ever since she set foot on this strange world and wonders where her equine friends have gotten of to. Usually, there's at least one of them around, but not this time. She wonders whether they'll be getting ready for their usual annual trek through the marshes and shivers. Would it be alright for her to stay behind? The smaller ones had last time, so she may stay with them. If only she could find a way to really communicate with them.

The last three years have been rather trying for her. There are so few humans around over here, and most of them are attached to one herd or another. Just like her, of course. But ever since that blue stallion joined in, her healing gifts seem less wanted.

She frowns as she notices Citrus Champagne and squints. Is that one of the smaller ones on its back? She knows the equines can understand her, even though they cannot talk back, so she calls out to the strange mare. "Hello there! Do you need medical attention?"

Ryuukokoro

((That's fine Yruvian! ^_^ ))

Citrus pulled up short as she noticed the strange creature in the snow. It was such an odd little thing. Normally she didn't feel comfortable stopping and staring, but it was just one of those things you had to stare at. How did it walk on those two little stick-legs, anyway??

The trihorn's ears flicked forward and back as the little creature spoke. It had a very strange way of speaking, making a waterfall of bubbly audible sounds with its throat. The voice was light and feminine. It wasn't any Fae language, but Citrus understood well enough.

Citrus turned her neck to regard the little pegasus Faette draped across her back. The filly's eyes were closed. The poor thing looked so exhausted. It was true, Citrus did worry for her health. Was this strange little female creature a healer?

Carefully Citrus knelt there in the snow next to the two-legged walker, so she would be able to reach up to her back easier. Citrus bowed her head a bit and then tipped it back to point her backswept horns at the Faette, hoping this conveyed enough so that the creature would see if the little Fae could be helped.
