As you wander away from your tour group, slowly walking through the dense forest of the Amazon all alone, you feel as though you are being watched.  Just out of your line of sight you catch little glimpses of movement and flashes of color. You become more and more intrigued.

In front of you appears a small sun dappled clearing out of the canopy of huge jungle trees, overgrown with vines, wild orchids and all manner of tropical plants and flowers. As you stand quietly, taking in all the beauty around you, from the opposite side of the clearing you hear rustling in the heavy undergrowth. Not wanting to make a sound, you hold you breathe in wonder as very slowly the leaves part revealing a petite, beautifully marked small leopard type feline.

In total enchantment, you soak in the sight of him, trying to memorize in your mind every small detail, marking, whisker and sparkle of his eyes.  He slowly inspects the clearing, occasionally sending you a quick glance.  He seems to understand you mean him no harm as he reclines in a sunny patch of grass and proceeds to give himself a bath. His bath finished, he stretches out to take a nap, the only movement is an occasional twitch of his tail or flick of an ear to unseat a pesky fly.

You are awed at his acceptance of you in his world. You are so mesmerized by his beauty you don't notice the passing of time. Suddenly your drowsing companion jumps to his feet, gazes at you for a moment and then leaps back into the forest without a sound. The only evidence that he was even there, a single leaf bobbing to a halt.

Finally you notice the voices calling your name loudly. You are so excited about this amazing occurance that you rush back to the group and, talking so quickly no one can understand you, try to describe the beauty of your temporary companion.  Finally someone hands you a tablet and asks you to write it all down!
