I want to figure out my horse genetics.  Here is what I came up with.  Could you tell me if they are right please.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This one was ordered as a chestnut

?? ee cc rr dd gg ww ll ?? tt oo ?? F? ?? ??

She has had a baby.

Strawberry Roan

?? ee cc RR ?? gg ww ll ?? tt oo ?? ?? ?? ??

Ok this next one I am guessing is chestnut because it looks like some flaxen in the main to me.

?? ee cc ?? dd gg ww L? nn tt oo ?? ff ?? ??

Leopard Appy (this one sorta baffles me)

?? E? ?? ?? ?? gg Ww L? nn tt oo ?? ?? ?? ??

She has had 2 foals

My second gen boy

Bay blanket appaloosa

?? E? cc rr dd gg ww L? Nn tt oo ?? ?? zz ??

Ok I feel sorta hopeless.  I do not understand what the aa part is.
Also how do you tell what they carry?  Or how do you mark it?  Any help would be appreciated.

Ginger's genetics look good to me.  Her foal looks like a darker chestnut, and since she shows neither appaloosa nor flaxen either, that tells me nothing about any other genes she may carry.

Broken Road is definitely a strawberry roan, but you've got a few errors in his genetics:
Quote?? ee cc RR ?? gg ww ll ?? tt oo ?? ?? ?? ??

They should read: ?? ee cc R? ?? gg ww ll ?? tt oo ?? F? ?? ??  (roan is a dominant gene, so a horse can show roan with only one dominant roan allele - and strawberry roan is chestnut based, which means flaxen would show if he were ff - so he has at least one F gene)

Chocolate Milk looks chestnut to me, but I don't think he shows flaxen.  (click here to see an example of flaxen, on a red dun frame overo - it might look different on an appaloosa patterned horse, but I doubt it would be that different)

Apple Dapple I admit baffles me as well, although I believe she is a brown leopard based on a comparison of her spots with Sparkle's base color.  She is definitely not dominant white (Ww) though - if she were, she would not have any spots at all.  So her genotype should read:
At? E? cc dd rr gg ww L? nn tt oo ?? ?? ?z ??

Her son Longing Desire's genotype would be:
A? E? cc dd rr gg ww Ll nn tt oo ?? ?? zz ??

Your Quin's genetics are correct.

Thank you so much springacres.  I am understanding alot of what you are saying.

So Chocolate Milk milk would be

?? ee cc ?? dd gg ww L? nn tt oo ?? F? ?? ??

Oh I forgot that Apple Dapple had another foal.
