Hi there, I'm Laney!I know out there in Secundi there are many a people who have many a breeding project in regards to bringing different colours into different breeds.
I thought maybe if we all banned together, we could keep a thread going with a comprehensive list of everybodies projects, detailing what the project entails, where you're up to in your goal and any successes thus far... I thought this would be a good idea so that people may be able to help each other, or just in general know whats going on with various projects, just in case they're looking to start up any of their own, and want to know what projects are already going out there (since hey, everyone would love to be the one that first bred a particular colour into another breed, right?)
So, if anyone who has a breeding project going could post here, I will gladly take in all information and keep it tracked in the next post of the thread so everyone can see where everyones at.
Thank-you

Projects That Have Borne Fruit
Ryuu's breeding Roan into Clydes :)
Nighthenge breeding Cream (Buckskins) into Clydes :)
Nighthenge breeding Tobiano into Clydes :)
Dunkel breeding Tobiano into Arabs :)
I have been working on Tobiano into arabs (as have a few others I know!) with sucess this season. (I know Dunkel I think it was, was sucessful last season)
I am also working on Roan into Andy's with this seasons foal being a more than promising step 2.
I had success this season breeding cream (3 buckskins) and tobiano into Clydes.
Currently working on breeding in grey. I have a mare that is 75% Clyde.
Next project will be either appy or another tobiano line.
I can't take all the credit for the roan, lol. I started the project and Crystal finished it after adopting one of my grades. ^^
Current project: roan into Fresians. Status: level 2 Grade (owned by cybermesh)

Not accurate. I adopted the stud and she used him three times in the one breeding season and thats how she got her roan Clydies. If I hadn't adopted him, then it may not have happened yet.
I would love to see some of the results of these projects when they're borne!!! :) Buckskin Clydies would be sa-weeeet

Oh yeah that's right!!!! Wow it was a three person project! lol. :D
I also can't wait to see some of these projects. I'm expecting a roan frame Clyd this season. <3 I dunno where the frame came from, but it must have been bred into the Clyds somewhere along the line, because it's the first Clyd with frame!
And you will see buckskin Clyds soon, since they were born this season ^^
I have gotten lucky in my project thus far..... I bred both my Palo arabs (mare and stally) to my two Clydes (mare and stally) and hoped for the best. I got ONE palo grade stally out of the pairing. This season I bred him alone to Kahlira's mare, Redelna, and hey presto, step 2 of project comes out palomino as well, wheeee! :D This time a mare.
The dodgy thing I didn't think about with my project? ALL of my Clydes have the overo gene, which has been passed on to my grades thus far. So I can never breed my own grade back to my own Clydes. I always have to seek out someone elses. Which sucks. Evil EVIL overo gene!!!
I would go "woot" for frame, if I even knew what that was!!
Luv007 suggested I put together a comprehensive visual guide to markings in Quinsta, but I can honestly tell you, I couldn't do that! I know nothing about what markings exist, or even what half of them look like!
I don't know Tobiano from Tovero. LOL
Tovero is the combination of tobiano and overo. And frame is a variety of overo marking.
So even though someone might only be interested in frame overo and not the other varieties, they're still bringing the overo gene to a breed. Just like someone who only wants snowflake appaloosa is still bringing in appaloosa, and anyone breeding specifically for palomino or perlino in their final project is still bringing in cream. =)
If you study Rav's breeding guide it shouldn't be hard to learn the different markings. There are clear pictures of each type there.
Frame is a type of overo, just like sabino is a type of overo. Frame looks like this:

Wanted to contribute to this list -- I've succeeded in breeding Frame Overo into Fresians. :)
I'm currently on the first step of breeding gray into clyds ^.^ and next season I'll be working on getting chestnut into Andys~
Sucessfully bred Roan into an Andy! Woot!
I've bred the fleabitten and gray traits into Friesians. =)
I got appaloosa into arabs! :D
