Coloring on the white one isnt that great IMO. the hard lined zz just dont appeal to me.

But I dont think you are doing anything wrong. I voted other too. The only thing wrong is no patience, give them a chance to build a fanbase. You already have a couple

I have trouble with zz too.  With a mouse I find it quite difficult

I voted other, because I honestly don;t know that anything is "wrong".  I like some of the coloring, I dislike others, but that's a taste thing not a talent thing.  Like, I like the first example up there, but dislike the second.  Nothing to do with the level of coloring talent, everything to do with the s-gene.  I dislike ZZ most of the time.  Every now and then I like it, but it's rare.  So.. guess I'm not too helpful there, sorry :S

I would/will look forward to any new mutations or breeds/lines that come out however, I love variety.

When it comes to colouring, i tend to try and think of themes.  Mimics or seasons, or lightning etc etc and so on...
That way, you can look for reference in pictures etc...

At least you don't use pre made brushes

i'll try to stay away from ZZ then, since a lot of people don't really like it ^^ (actually i don't like it either XD)

that might not happen for a while though, since dragon has a very heavy load of runis and stuff to catch up on Dx but i will definately be plotting

lol i do use premade brushes xD the first example has the fuzzy brush spread around a lot,and a few in teh preamdes folder I have have GIMP brushes spread around them too

I mean like pattern type brushes that just look so fake =o/

yeah I used to use those for my first adoptie(being revamped right now, yay!) but they would completely ruin the quality of these

oh and would be be up for another shading job once I save up the SG again? dragon's drawn a baby stage and might also draw an eggy stage
