Yay! I finally got word back from each artists I had commissioned, and have permission to bring all the lines off PI from my dragons line.

((Introduction)) || The World || The Dragons || RP || Battle

Human settlers have only recently arrived on Nova Terra. It started as a recreational trip in the first luxury space cruise line's flagship. Most of the people aboard were wealthy travelers. However, staff members were allowed to bring thier families along, because the trips could take around a year before they saw earth again. What accident brought them here isnt as important as the fact that they are here, and must learn to survive. Settlements have been built by survivers of the crash, developing into a few scattered tribal like villages.

To be added to our mailing list, please post "I was in the landing party" in red.

Coloring by me, Possibly hiring for colorist in the future.

*please note* You will never see a DoNT dragon with tattoos or marks that are clearly brushes. There may be a wild variety of colors and patterns, but everything will be something "natural". Its not natural to have a bunch of purfectly shaped hearts and stars.

Introduction || ((The World)) || The Dragons || RP || Battle

When Nova Terra was first sighted from space, a little girl looking out the view portal claimed "It looks just like Earth, 'cept its on fire!"

Nova Terra- or flaming earth- is a world like and yet very unlike our own. Thier solar system revolves around a bright pure-red sun. The planet rotates slowly on its axis. For our world, the rotation takes 24 hours, or a day. On this world, a day lasts what would be 3 earth weeks.

Because of the vast extremes of heat and cold during these long hours of day and night, the equator of the world has become nothing short of a vast desert. This desert is littered with volcanos, many quite active. Few creatures or plants thrive in this terrain, leaving it instead to the mighty dragons.

There is only one ocean, a massive body of water on the northern hemisphere. The ocean covers nearly 1/4 of the planets surface. It's base, like our own water, is H2O. However, unlike our salt water seas, this ocean has a fair mixing of iron. When the tides stir deep waters to the surface, the result is a great display of reds and oranges dancing on the blue/green of the water. Viewed from space, the storm display looks something like the northern lights, layed acrost the ocean.

Being somewhat closer to thier "sun" than earth is, thier north and south poles are more like a tropical rain forest than tundra and ice. It is in this rain forest that various plants, animals, and even humans make thier home.Between the habitable rain forests and the harsh desert climes are vast stretches of mountain, which represent the seperation of life and death for any human who dares try to make thier home on Nova Terra.

Fully templated dragons ready to be homed: Autruche, Coulee, Survoler
Inked dragons waiting on shading, can be homed and shaded later if someone really wants one: Chiot, Grotte, Dindon
Dragons not yet ready to be homed- (scientists are still studying if it is safe to interact with these) Aride, Falaise

The desert dwelling behemoth sized dragons, are know as Aride. These are the large, thick winged, gem hording dragon that most of us are familiar with the type. These giants live acrost the arid landscape, prefuring to make thier homes in great caves and volcanic hotspots. These thrive in complete happiness deep in the desert areas. For the most part, they view the human settlers as unwelcome guests, or better (in thier eyes) as snacks. A few of the wise elders or niave youngsters have found the humans worth study.

The mountain dwelling species are know as Falaise. As lean as a cat, these mountain dwelling creatures rely on speed and agility instead of strength to survive. Thier wings are also much smaller than thier desert cousins. The mountain dragons do not fly, so much as glide from mountain peaks. They have foot pads rather like a gecko, enabling them to climb mountain faces even when hanging upside down.

The river dragons are know as Coulee. These lines were done by Bioweapon. Like many small creatures, these dragons are almost impossible to tell apart by gender just by looking. This tiny dragon makes its home near the water. Similar in habit to an otter or a muskrat, they are perfectly safe on land as well. Scientists debated as to if it was actually a dragon, for they were furred as well as scaled, warm blooded as well as egg laying.. but the debate rapidly ended when a specimen blasted it's handler with an icey breath attack.

[RGBred]Autruche[/RGB] dragons are relatively small. A grown man could walk under thier belly without ducking, but could reach up and touch the tummy, if standing on tip-toes. Their legs are long and thin, holding thier body high above the heat-reflective sands. In spite of the fur they wear as insulation, they are cold blooded.

Chiot- these tiny dragons are no larger then a german shepherd when full grown. One of the only vegetarians of the group, they can be found living in small clans whereever there is an oasis in the desert. Chameleon-like camoflague allows them to hide among the terrain whenever a larger creature comes to the oasis. Coupled with thier small size, it makes them almost impossible for the larger dragons to see.

Grotte are our subterrainian species. Sharing the harsh desert climes with the Aride, these dragons dig great connected networks of caverns. Like 20 ton gophers.

The [RGBred]Survoler[/RGB] is a larged winged species... behavior is not known at this time. Scientists are still trying to find species to study in thier natural habitat.

Dindon are almost the perfect size and temperment to be mounts for humans. They took to domestication quickly. One of the first sports to emerge after the crash was Dindon racing.

Breeding:

Everyone who allows thier dragon to go off on the breeding "Gather" is permitted to come to the Brooding.
At the Gather, dragons leave thier bonded human to seek out mates. They seek out the mate that appeals to them instinctually, humans have no say in it, and usually do not know who mated with who.
Ladened females then lay thier eggs in a large Brooding cave. These caves are nearly always close to some volcanic activity to help the eggs develope, however, some have taken place in such places as fetid swamps, where chemical reactions of swamp gasses serve to keep things warm.

Males return to thier humans shortly after the Gather. Females stay to protect the eggs, taking turns hunting, guarding and sleeping. For this reason, males are able to rejoin roleplay sooner.

Once the Brooding has matured enough that the eggs are ready to hatch, the humans who have earned a right in the cave are summoned. Anyone who has let thier dragon attend the Gather earns a place automatically. Others may earn thier places through roleplay or other events. Once all humans are in place, the "Break" occurs. The Break is when the eggs finally crack open, and the new young dragons seek to bond.

During the Break, many baby dragons will turn to older dragons to bond. These babies will be reared in the wild with thier guardians, and may never see a human again. However, the draw of the human is strong, and most babies will seek one out to bond with. When this happens, the human and baby dragon are bonded for life. The infant will show its true nature to the human, who will know its name intuatively (you pick its name, it stays that name forever).

Once a bonded baby dragon has grown to adulthood, there may come a time when it wishes to seek out its own path of adventure. (be traded) However, it will never forget the bond it had with its first human. (for RP purposes, a traded dragon will never act to harm its once owner, unless there is a good RP explaination *from the first owner* on why their link was severed)

Due to the intense amount of attention a baby dragon requires, only one baby will bond to a human at a time. You cannot get another baby until yours has grown into adulthood and can take care of itself.
The "ticket" that proves you have earned a place at the Brooding is in the form of a gem-encrusted bone. You may earn 3 of these per season, 1 from allowing one of your dragons to go to the Gather, 1 from RP, and 1 from a random event. You may only use one per season, and they do not carry over to the next season. What this means is, if you have extra bones, you may gift or trade them. There will be an item trading season before each Gathering season to give you the chance to gift or trade bones.

(there are 2 more species not shown, both by Burning Willow in the style of Aride and Falaise)

Roleplay will *not* be required to own and breed your dragon. It is a completely optional way of getting to know your Nova Terra community, having some fun, and earning some gems.

Introduction || The World || The Dragons || RP || ((Battle))

We use a battle system utalizing 4 stats- str, dex, int and charisma. Each dragon has an elemental type. Not all dragons breath fire, you know! Some have learned to breath cones of ice, powerful winds, even poisons. These elemental breath-weapon types will effect battles, in a rock-paper-scissors style. For example, if a lightning elemental is fighting a wood elemental, it would recieve +2 to its own dex, instead of 1. If it were fighting earth, it would only get its 1 dex, and the earth dragon would recieve +2 str instead of 1.
(image of the elements coming soon)
How the elements effect the stats:
Str: earth + str to self
Dex: lightning + dex to self
Int: light + int to self, dark - int to others
Cha: air + cha to self
Damage: fire + damage to own attacks, ice - damage recieved, wood - damage recieved, poison small additional damage over 3 turns
The battle system will be fleshed out in detail before we hold our first tournament. Battling in tournaments can win you prizes and PG. Battling in RP is just for fun, but at least here we have a system, so if people decide to actually fight it out, the RP manager can fairly determine who wins.

Here is the elemental wheel. The ones opposing eachother in the center cancel eachother out when battling. On the wheel, you can find < signs, which tells which direction the "greater than" works.

These lovely items were created by Tobyana. They will be awarded to battlers based on what place they take in battles.

hmm, not sure if I can think of any constructive feedback. You seem to have it pretty well thought out and looks like you are going to have a pretty extensive shop. Which is awesome.

Personally I like the Coulee, it makes me want to pet the belly.

Taruia

I have to agree with Chem, it really looks like you have a good handle on things here. I like the size chart, that is very helpful and very cool too lol XD ummm yeah, looks good.

Reality is only for those who lack imagination.

Thank you. I still consider that valuable feedback. Anything more then a "pretty" is feedback lol.

Forgot to add the items!

Gem encrusted femur- this is the "ticket" to enter the Breaking

Elemental wands will have an elemental energy swirling around them. You can tell what element the wand is by the color of the energy. A wand may be used for 1 tournament (once each battle for one entire tournament) and then it's power is exhausted. A wand gives the user an additional breath attack matching the wands element.

Shield stones are designed to take the energy of one breath attack and disperse it harmlessly. These look like 2 crystals planted in stone. The dragon can grasp the stone without being effected by the energy passing through the crystals. Like wands, they work once per battle, and last 1 tournament, before the energy passing through them causes them to vibrate into dust.

Gemstones will be the currency used with DoNT

So much detail!  I love that about these guys.  I'll be a stalker for sure.  Looks like you've got it all neatly sorted, no helpful input here other than, They are awesome.  ^_^
