This is a breeding event. You do not have to participate. You can bring as many, or as few Surfers as you like. There are no guaranteed breedings, and you cannot, at this time, pick your own pairings. If your Surfer winds up breeding, it could breed to one of your other Surfers (if you brought multiple's), someone else's Surfer, or an un-owned Surfer (wild Surfer) from the compound. This breeding event is free, future breedings will require a fee. Litters are property of the Momma Surfer's owner. Your Surfer's must be named to be bred. If they have no name, you can fill in your chosen name for them in the name field and I'll edit the registry.
We have noticed that some of the Wind Surfers around the compound have been acting differently. Unsure what the cause of this change is, our vets have decided it is time that they all had a check up. To that end, we ask that you bring your little friends in to see the vets. They can play in the indoor garden area, and have a chance to socialize with others, in addition to getting a full check up. We do ask that you give the vets as much information on your little friends as possible, as we need to learn more about them still; and even the smallest, seemingly inconsequential thing, could have some affect on them.
Translation: The more information you give me about their lifestyle, the better I can figure out your breeding.
Please make a separate post for each Surfer you bring; and do not put anything else in your post with your Surfer's.
Post the following for each Surfer you bring, you may make as many posts as you need to if you bring multiple Surfer's. The Information field is for any information you can give us about your Surfers, from eating habits, personalities, activities etc. Please see Kadana's entries (linked below the form) for an example. Dawn, there are a few things you can do to still enter. The first thing is, you can just pick some other form of inspiration, that is easier for you to post. But if you really want that particular inspiration, you can 1. navigate to it and write the direct url down on paper, then come here and manually type it in. 2. You can do like YLO did, and tell me what it is you want on YouTube, and tell me how to find it. IF I can find it, I will use it.

Sparky is standoffish, a loner. She seems to be very self-reliant. She doesn't play with Shadow, but I'm unsure if that is because she dislikes Shadow, or simply because it's her nature to be alone.
When Sparky first came home with me, she had a diet of mixed fruits and vegetables. In particular she showed a great fondness for carrots, apples, and oddly, lemons. However, she has been eating a lot of my Carolina Reaper's lately. At first I worried about her health and tried to keep her from them, but she always managed to find a way beyond my safeguards and get at the bushes. She has so far shown no ill effects from them, so I have given up and allowed her free access. The past few days, she went from snacking on one a day to devouring several a day. At this point, she stopped eating anything but the Carolina Reaper's, and snubs her nose at any other food.
She tends to sleep in out of reach places, the higher up and harder to get to, the better. More recently however, she has been nesting in the garden.. under one of my Carolina Reaper Bush's. She rarely leaves there for anything, and "bickers" at anyone that ventures too near.

Shadow is quiet and watchful. She will interact with me and socialize when pressed, but doesn't actually seek out my company unless she wants something. She will tolerate my attention, but only for short periods of time.
She's a thief, (aren't they all?), and has a penchant for stealing anything she can if she isn't watched, and she takes great pleasure in hiding things from me. She seems very curious about everything, and is constantly getting into things she can't get back out of. She also seems to take amusement from tracking Sparky's sleeping area down whenever she picks a new one, which in turn causes Sparky to abandon it and seek out a new sleeping area. So far, Shadow has shown no inclanation to enter the area of the garden with the Carolina Reaper bushes however. Whether because she dislikes the pungeant spicy peppars, or for some other unknown reason, is unclear.
She herself is very good at hiding when she wants to, sometimes in plain sight even! Once, I must have walked past her half a dozen times or more while searching for her, and never saw her sitting there in the shadows. Something else that seems to please her, this ability to confound me. We have yet to discover where she has made her sleeping area..
When she first came to live with me, Shadow ate a lot of protein. She would nibble nuts and seeds, but she really seemed to enjoy meat, often not even waiting for it to be cooked before sneaking up and swiping it out from under my nose. However, over this past week, she has seemed drawn to Angel's Food Cake. She eats it as much and often as she can get away with, with or without icing or any other toppings, so it does seem it is the cake itself that draws her. She is now eating a diet of equal parts Angel's Food Cake and meat. And she has taken to flat refusing any meat that has been cooked at all.

I'm off to the library for volunteer work this morning, will try and color this sometime this afternoon/tonight if I'm not too worn out. Also need to try and figure out how to put dun on a black base.. hmm an off-colored maybe?
Dun on black base exists and is called blue dun or gruello. Dun makes the base color a bit lighter and then adds the dorsal stripe and darker legs. So black + dun is perfectly natural, it is just being called by a different name to confuse you :P
I'll try to enter the breeding event today or tomorrow.

Surfer Information:
Tristan is a kind and sorta quiet Surfer. He is very smart, always trying to learn new tricks and skills. He likes puzzles, so he has a collection of them developed for children with blocks and rings etc. I've also taken to giving him his food by putting it inside intelligence toys, which he really enjoys.
He is most inventive at nights, I always find the house and yard to be a big mess when I wake up. During the day he is much less active, prefering to follow me around instead of exploring the world on his own, but he defenitely seems set on making up for this at nighttime.
Tristan is social with the other Surfers. He can keep himself occupied well enough, but obviously prefers company closeby. He is also fiercely loyal and protective of those he considers part of his family, including me. I think the other surfers see him as the leader.
When he sleeps he prefers a spot on the couch, next to where I usually sit, where he has his own soft and fluffy pillow. It was never put there specifically for him, but once he started sleeping on it the other Surfers didn't use it anymore, so now we all consider it his spot.
Tristan is easy enough when it comes to food, he will eat anything, I even catch him munching my books or furniture sometimes! I think he wants to try everything, probably part of his eagerness to learn! I try feeding him a varied diet including vegetables, fruits, bread and nuts but his very favorite thing to eat is cheese and he's eating more and more of it every day.

Burberry is a very sweet Surfer. He loves to cuddle with you! He also likes snow a lot! He can become totally silent watching it, but the next moment he can be bouncing around playing in it, so the cuddles can warm him right back up :P When there is no snow he still likes to have a lot of fun, but he is rather lazy by nature so he picks things that don't require a lot of moving around. Burberry's favorite thing to play with is a box of crayons, bright and colorful and he can play with them without moving much! He sleeps half next half on top of a big fluffy stuffed teddybear, when you want to find him it's likely he is napping there. His favorite food? Defenitely cherries, he goes crazy for them! But he also enjoys much less healthy foods like eggrolls and deep fried chicken, probably contributing to him being a bit chubby..

I'm not exactly sure yet, I have been seriously considering leaving babies wait to grow until I can get them as an agency. I "think" I can apply in April. But that seems the least confusing (for me) way for import purposes anyway.
That said.. If anyone is hesitating to try breeding because of a lack of grown females, do let me know and I'll see what I can do to sort you out :)

For the Inspiration rolls, it is just for Wind Surfers. I'm not used to doing Inspiration anythings lol and I just can't see how I can do it for SC's with their current coloring restrictions. So Inspiration rolls are strictly for Wind Surfers, and as for gender, I do several things to choose. I look and see if you need a male, or a female, I see if the inspiration posted makes me feel more male or female orientated, and I try and see which line the inspiration would work best on.
For example, Sunny's inspiration was an obvious male choice. For YLO's, I didn't really "get" much out of the song, after over a dozen replays, the only thing that stuck in my head was the word "supernova" . Supernova didn't scream either male or female to my subconscious, so I colored a male and a female, to see which it looked bets on. They both looked equally good to me, so i next checked and saw that YLO only had baby females. So I saved the female version for her, so she could have a female to try and breed if she chose :)

I think personally I'd grow 1st gen babies and keep bred babies ungrown til Agency, that way it's easy to remember which one need to be imported with parents :) but it's whatever you prefer of course! I'd like to toss in my natural ladies but I will participate (as you see :P) in the breeding either way ^^

Got some coloring done this morning, as well as some templating. yay! Makes me feel a bit better about lack of activity yesterday. Volunteering at the Library again today, so it will be another slow day for me on here. Notes: Cinnamon is very inquisitive & seems to need to put his nose into everything he sees. He saw Riverwind dipping her Snicker doodles in a cup of milk then eating them one day & he decided he would try it. He climbed up besides her cookies, snuck a nibble from one then sniffed at her milk. He must not have liked the smell for instead of trying it he immediately shoved it off the table with his nose. Then while she was trying to clean up the mess he grabbed her Snicker doodles& ran off with them. Now when she is eating them she has to keep a sharp eye out for him as he smells them & comes running.

Surfer Information: Enya's favorite food seems to be most any kind of fish. Enya has been a busy beaver since she came to live with us. She likes to get into mischief. Going where she shouldn't be, ie: on top of the counter while I'm trying to prepare a meal. She has been caught helping herself to the shrimp off the counter before it was even cooked. She gets into people's book bags & takes things that she has no apparent need or use for. Takes things from the bookshelves or off the coffee table or end tables just to hide them somewhere. Then she sits in a corner watching & chittering excitedly as we try to find what seems to be lost. I swear sometimes it seems as if she is laughing at us. Lately she has taken up chasing Cinnamon & Ailin around the yard & nipping at their heels. She doesn't seem to chase Little Bit or Roibeard though. Perhaps because Little Bit is still a baby. But I know she has been around Roibeard as she has the scent of Peppermint on her at times & that is where he is usually found, hanging out in the peppermint I planted around the house. But he has no visible signs of being harassed like the other two.

Icey was first drawn out by sunflower seeds, and they have continued to provide the path to his heart. He will run and hide from strangers, unless they offer him his favorite treat. Once sunflower seeds are in view, the person offering them quickly become his "best friend." Once you are established as a "dispenser of sunflower seeds" then Icey will remain affectionate towards you, even in subsequent visits. We have discovered that Icey also enjoys berries as treats, but prefers they be frozen. Once a berry is thawed out he loses interest. Icey continues to prefer human winter-wear as his sleeping place, with a preference for gloves, although hats, scarves or even a coat will do in a pinch. In his relations with other surfers, Icey is neither top dog nor bottom of the pack. He won't stand for being pushed around overly much (especially when it comes to his beloved sunflower seeds) but is not bossy enough to order others around either.

Ashley is a sweet but shy little girl. She has a great deal of energy and loves high places. Her favorite spots are the tops of trees, especially our ash trees where she spends the majority of her time, and for which she was named. She can often be seen among the high branches, chasing down small insects to eat. Ants, beetles and flies seem to make up the majority of her diet. The one thing that's sure to tempt Ashley down out of the trees is ice cream, particularly strawberry ice cream with chunks of fruit on top.

Speckle is the clear boss of our group of surfers. He's into everyone's business. Speckle spends lots of his day hunting down the other surfers to give them "lectures" on their grooming or eating habits. Speckle is also a cuddle-bug. When he's not bossing around the others, he likes to find a human and hang out on their shoulder. Unlike Icey or Ashley, Speckle does not like cold treats. OK, I'll extend entries for breeding until tomorrow, say.. 17:00 Secundi time. That way anyone who wanted to enter and needs more time, or wants to enter a Surfer they just won, will be able to get the entries posted. Surfer Information:Quiet Thunder has only been with me for a few days. We are still trying to get to know each other. She sits on my shoulder when I'm sitting out on the bench near the garden. She seems to watch everything that moves. Kind of like a guard dog that is watching it's home. All quiet & just watching & waiting. Just the other day, while sitting outside with her she lept from my shoulder & was halfway across the yard in meere seconds. I jumped up to see what was going on & it seems she saw a baby bird fall from a tree. It was to late to save it by the time I got to it. Quiet Thunder had devoured all of it but it's little feet. Poor birdie. :( I guess my little lady likes her meat fresh.

Surfer Information:Ailin likes dandelions. Plain & simple, he likes to roll around on top of them, eat them, he even floats them in his water dish. I have yet to figure out his attraction to them. But he gets a bit testy when someone tries to take them from him. Enya was being her usual mischievous self one day & decided to swipe the dandelions from Ailin's water. He attacked her full force until she dropped them & ran away. Needless to say, she hasn't messed with his dandelions anymore. She still torments him at times, but she leaves his precious flower/weeds alone.

Surfer Information: Carly is a spoiled little surfer who likes to get her way. She throws a tantrum when you try telling her no, but I still attempt to sometimes. The other surfers let her lead, although she seems to listen to Tristan. Or at least, I think she does, because he is the only one whose sleeping spot she hasn't tried to hijack. Contrary to her spoiled ways, she is very social and does not like to play by herself. Carly is very spontaneous and tends to get into all sorts of trouble, sometimes dragging her surfer friends along with her. Her favorite food is cake! Lots and lots of it!

Her favorite place to sleep is hiding under the couch. If you bug her when she wants to be left alone she will growl at you quite impressively. Nonetheless, she won't harm you and really is all bark and no bite. Just not the most social surfer in the bunch, but I don't mind much. She still seeks me out occassionally and she's really sweet when our contact is on her terms. For example, she sometimes pops up beside me on the bed at night and snuggles up to me for a while. Lana is drawn to nature and ventures outside often. She is very skilled at climbing, I've found her on a neighbour's roof on more than one occassion! Her prefered diet consists of various plants and flowers, but she has to pick them herself and doesn't always stay inside my yard, so she's probably not everyone's favorite surfer on the block.

Surfer Information: Milo is a very easy going guy. He goes along with what everybody else wants, as long as whatever is being suggested isn't mean spirited because he's a big softie. He likes the beach, especially the sand there, and if he go too long without visiting it he'll just dig up the yard instead. Milo is very good with the youngsters and I think he'd love a family of his own. His diet mostly consist of shells. What is it with these critters and eating odd things?

Surfer Information: Rambo is a typical boy. He likes to play in the mud, likes to wrestle with other surfers and is often building things, dragging around twigs and blankets. His favorite food is steak, if he can't grab that he'll accept other types of meat. Defenitely no delicate fish or stupid healthy vegetables, that's no food for a tough guy! Rambo is a bit mischievous as well, and a bit of a hoarder. Don't leave something laying around that he might be interested in because he will snag it away and hide it somewhere! I still haven't found my favorite watch..

Surfer Information: Charles is the oldest of the bunch and therefor thinks he has to be the wisest. He is social with the other surfers, often found with one or more others, but it takes quite a bit of encouragement to get him to loosen up and join in playing any games. He only eats nuts, walnut being his absolute favorite food.

Surfer Information: Rolly is a very shy surfer. Easily scared by strangers, bright colors and loud noises it took quite a bit of time to earn his trust. His behavior has greatly improved, but he's still skittish by nature and wary of new things. He is social, but only with surfers who are kind and quiet, not the wild rambunctious ones. Rolly prefers to be fed a monotonous diet with not too many changes. The first thing I ever fed him was fish and now he shies away from most other food, so I've kept feeding him fish. Last week I was eating sushi and let him try a piece, now he seems very hungry for more of it and it's quickly becoming his favorite!

Surfer Information: Keanu is a very stubborn but fickle surfer which makes him a bit hard to handle most of the time. He knows very well what he wants, except he changes this very often, so it can be hard to keep him happy. Last week he decided he wanted lollipops, the week before that he only wanted cookies. Oddly, right now the only things he wants to eat are coffee beans, but who knows how long that lasts. The only thing that hasn't changed is his favorite toy, which is a basketball. However, he keeps changing in his mind whether he wants to share it or not. I think it's just part of him growing up and maturing and believe he'll figure out what he likes soon enough. It would be nice, because I have piles of previously favored food laying around that Keanu now refuses to eat..

Surfer Information: Pipkin is young at heart and loves nothing more than to play! His favorite game is tag, and he will just try to start games randomly, willing participant or not. He can be a bit naive, but he means well. The little guy likes warm temperatures, so when the sun is shining you can find him outside and he always sleeps in front of the fireplace. Pipkin's favorite food is beetroot.

He likes colder weather, especially when it's raining because he is very drawn to water. Unsurprisingly, Blue also loves to swim! His favorite food is coral.

Surfer Information: Don't let Haunted's name scare you off! She is not mean or scary, just misunderstood. She only eats bugs, catching them herself and really enjoys the hunt. Her sleeping place is a little burrow in my yard that she has dug herself. Haunted has trouble producing high sounds, so when she communicates it often sounds a bit like a growl. Those things combined with her dark coloration has scared off a lot of surfers, so she's a little sad and lonely. Poor little Haunted!

Only just got round to looking at this, got hidden among other threads. Are the games still open?
I'm afraid not Winged. I did want to do more, but my teeth started bothering me, and it's really hard to color with my jaw throbbing. So I'm just trying to slowly work through the breeding colorings, in between waves of pain. Usually this only lasts about a week and then gets better, but it seems to be lasting much longer this time. So I'm sticking with the breedings for now, then we'll see. Just trying to do one thing at a time till this passes.

First Litter is up!
Silv, we found Icey guarding a wool hat under the bench in the back of the indoor garden area. The hat is sticky, and smells of blackberries. Inside the hat we found these little babies.. but we can't seem to locate their mother anywhere. It seems Icey met one of the compounds wild Surfers and took a liking to her! Too bad she didn't seem inclined to stick around :(

hehe Yes, first bred mutation. Both girls and one of the boys have mane mutation :)
Oh, and in case anyone hasn't figured it out by now, you can tell genders of babies by looking at their ID's. All Surfer ID's will begin with a M or an F for gender designation :)
Just an FYI for everyone.. Trading etc is allowed, but you should keep in mind that adults are posed different then babies, so images may look different once grown.
YourLoveOnly this guy was spotted carrying bugs underneath the bushes by the fountain. Just carry them under, then pop back out. It seemed very strange! Upon inspecting however, we found your Haunted nestled under there, with these little ones snuggled around her. Congratulations, your girl has a healthy litter of four! Three girls and a boy. It doesn't appear as if Daddy is any danger too them, on the contrary; he seems set on taking care of them and Mommy. Would you care to give him a home as well?

3rd Litter!
I have been having trouble with this litter. I've just been having difficulty figuring out how to combine Quiet Thunders fantasy marking with a natural marking. I've finally given up, and enlisted the help of Rosewood to color this litter for me, as I didn't want to leave things wait any longer, and was simply.. lacking in ideas. So I figured up all the details (litter number and size/s, gender distribution, twin and mutation chance etc) and Rosewood colored them for me. This is not planned to be a regular thing. I am unsure at this time if I will be looking for staff in the future or not for these, but for now I was having difficulty, and Rosewood was kind enough to help me out.

SweetCaroline, we found your girl Quiet Thunder nesting in a hollow at the base of one of the trees in the garden. We were investigating why the birds had abandoned their nest.. I guess now we know why! YourLoveOnly's Rambo was found there with her.. along with a bunch of little babies. Only some of which seem to have been fathered by Rambo. The vets are now telling me that each female Surfer has the ability to carry two litters at a time. The larger of your girls litter was fathered by Rambo.. but we're unsure who the father of the second litter is, or where he's gotten off to..
You have 7 healthy little ones here, although I advise caution with the first two.. they seem to have especially large, sharp teeth which have already nicked several of the staff!
