Title: Hand Made Leopard Spots.. How bad are they?
Post by: SGA on October 01, 2009, 08:34:48 PM
OK, I didn't intend to make leopard spots.  If I had intended to, I would have colored the body a different color, and more importantly, I would have made the spots on a separate layer, not directly onto the colored body  ::)  I usually try and do everything on separate layers you see, but well, as I said this was unintentional..

I was bored, tired, headachey, and just messing around on a pre-colored critter.   I had nothing specific in mind, just idly fiddling while trying to stay awake.  I never intended for it to be kept/saved, hence no new layer.

And then this.. my sister and mom says it is really good, but.. well they are family lol and a wee bit biased.  I do like it (except the color choices) but, I dunno if it is good enough to bother with trying to re-create it (properly, on a separate layer) or not.  And frankly, I dunno if I even can.  I've only done hand made leopard spots once before, and that was literally by hand, on paper not the computer lol  But I'd be willing to try.. just not tonight lol

So what do you think?  My first (on the comp) hand made leopard spots.  Worth trying to re-create them properly?

I think its lovely. I also think the best designed and colored critters happen when you are just playing around and not meaning to. For me at least lol.

That's usually how I end up beating games hehe

OK, I tried to re-create them (on a separate layer) lol  Here is how they came out.  Two views, one with shading, and one without.  Neither one is colored, just transparent.  So whatever color the board is for you, that's what it should be, I think.. Anyway, what do you think? worth keeping as an sgene?

Without the shading..

With the shading..

I would keep them but personally I would make them a little more transparent.

I love them. I dont personally use any marking templates, so I can make each critter completely unique, but if you use templates, those deserve to be on the list!
