But how do you actually get a pet on here? xD
I can't really seem to find any kind of link to get one, and I just joined around 2 minutes ago; I have no idea what I'm doing.

On the main site page, there's a link that says Agencies. The agencies called wobbles and the one called gidgets will give you a free pet if you want more gidgets feel free to ask me, I have waaaay too many XD
the other agencies + other pet shops hold events in the general booths

If you click ont eh big Secundi banner it takes you to the main site. 

You can get a Wobble and a Gidget free right away just by clickign ont heir agency linsk and adopting one each.  But that is all you can get through the agency without special items.
You can then search for other critters for sale.

For adoptables you can get them through events, but most are not on secundi's agency list, they are just pretty
