The music in the world flowed dark, yet sweet. It came in howls and laughter, a song of playful fear. It was the taste of chocolate with a bite that made one desire more rather than less.
It was that spoopy time of year!
The orchard was decked out with spider webs and hanging vines, dark apples and cinnamon. There was play and fun throughout the grounds, both humanoid and equine. You are greeted by one of the triplets who directs you to games, treats, or.... potion making?
With a bright smile, they leave you to your choices, heading back to their own activities.

Sing Me a Song... of Sorts with Saevia
Saevia stands among the trees, eyes closed as she sways to the hum of magic. There's a song coalescing in the woods, a song that struggles for form! She can't seem to catch it, as though the melody hovers just out of audible reach. Thankfully, there are those nearby who can help define just what this song should be. Help the magic to call down the Elenaria from the midnight sky by giving it rhythmic pathways to follow!
Rules- Each user may fill out the custom form once, but each blank may ONLY be filled with a song!
- Each song in a single form must be different. This means "Let It Go" may only be used once, regardless of other covers/remixes/etc.
- Songs may be reused by other users. So "Let It Go" (even the exact same version) may be posted on two or more different forms.
- Forms may be updated until the end date.[/b]

Own a Bone
Like all Kelpies, he was sung down to the sea. His hooves took form at the tops of the waves, his body seeking its existence through the notes weaving in the air. But the rush of rain and wave did not take hold of him as he wished. He was pulled across the ocean's foam into a recently opened crack in the earth. His great body shuddered as the ashen dust of the dead settled over his skin like a film.
The creature that crooned his song was skeletal and dark, eyes blazing a fiery red of the underworld. And he was formed much in its image.
It was another earthquake that freed him from the crypt that might have become his own, the monstrosity that wished to overtake the stallion's body crushed beneath fallen stone. And he whirled on bright hooves, making his escape through the crack which had first been his bars.
Clear ocean air filled his lungs and he jolted to the shore, to a reason to live. It is only now, months later, that he seeks a home and someone who will allow him to come and go as he pleases. Only then can he truly share his heart.

Something lurks here, ghosting between the trees and monuments. It's calling you, even as something about this place repels. There is death here, a slow, inexorable death.
For a moment, you see a figure amidst the decay. A true creature? Or just a figment of your imagination? There's only one way to find out...

The Gravekeeper's Challenge

Image, like death, is coming....
The storm takes form and she appears as the crest of the waves pouring towards the shore. From the depths of the Orchard she canters forth, elemental. Her head tosses, nearly glowing green eyes pinning you in place. There is something less than sane within their depths, yet her keen intellect is just as obvious.
She is as wild as she is beautiful. She won't tolerate anyone who cannot handle her in all of her glory. Can you master the Gravekeeper? Or will she bury you, too?
The Gravekeeper will allow users to try to keep up with her by staying on her back. She's willing to go home with whoever can stay on her the longest, but beware! She's just as strong as she looks!
- Once an hour, you roll 1d20.
- You stay on her back at a 15 or higher.
- You must roll a minimum of 10 times, unless you are thrown.
- If you stay on her back for all 10 rolls, then you must only roll once every 12 hours. She won't allow anyone to just sit idly
- Once you are thrown, you may not roll any more.
- Whoever can stay on her back for the most number of rolls wins!
- If there is a tie, there will be a sudden death round!
- This event begins on the 22nd of Oct and ends on the 30th of October at 11:00pm Secundi time.

I literally just picked songs I adore at the moment, no theme... good luck. XD
Taking a step forward with her head low, the caster respectfully curtsied to the Swamp Queen. "My Queen, it is with honor that I present to you the greatest spell I've ever cast." She said softly, her voice resonating around the echoing room. She pulled the vial from her cloak pocket and opened it, breathing in the wondrous aroma it gave. There were hints of many things within the spell; The bark of the Cypress tree, Sage, Lilac, faint Vanilla, Citrus, and a deep musk to name a few. The cool breeze in the eve of Autumn seemed to radiate around the vial as she closed her eyes and began to hum. Softly at first, then louder into a chant to bring the spell to life before the Swamp Queen.
Suddenly the room exploded with wind and the smells of the spell, it was completely captivating and strong. Her heart sang with excitement and focus before a burst of green light came between the Swamp Queen and the caster. Opening her eyes in a hast, the caster looked at the Swamp Queen with wide eyes. She was more glorious than ever, and the power of the spell vibrated through both of their bodies. "Whoa." the caster said, breathless. Surely she hadn't expected it to be This powerful!
Voodoo stomps his hoof impatiently, this spell book was utterly useless. He noses the book to the ground, kicking it away impatiently. "I'll just make up my own spell," he grumbled. None of them were exactly what he wanted anyway.
"Lets see.....eye of newt? No, that is much too common, I want something to really wow her," he says as he tosses it aside. "Ahah!" He grabs a vial and trots over to the cauldron and gently taps out 3 drops of honeysuckle extract. He then returns to the shelves and begins nosing through the shelves again.
"Hmmm, this could work," as he grabs the rattle of a rattle snake and tosses it over into the pot. A hiss rises from the cauldron when it hits. Next he tosses in a couple of bat wings, a sprig of lavender, a pinch of stardust, a salamander, and the bark of a dogwood tree.
At this point the contents are sputtering and sounding much like a dying animal, the colors, well...lets just say they are a tad bit less than appealing. He snorts into the pot and turns to his shelves once again. The very back of one of the shelves sits some moss, why not? I can't make it any worse, he thought. Into the pot it goes along with a purple stone.
At this point a horrible smell is leaking from the cauldron, but it has turned to a very nice shade of purple. He turns back to the shelves and rummages around some more. He comes out with a bottle of vanilla, vanilla makes everything better right? He goes to add a few drops to the rancid concoction and the entire bottle tumbles into the goop with a sploosh and a hiss. It did make it smell slightly better.

"Oh. Oh my, oh no," a young mage mutters to herself as she leaves a trail of oddities behind her, the top most bits and bobs from the pile in her arms tumbling to the ground as she rushes towards the cauldron. She drops her pile rather haphazardly at the base of the cauldron before scurrying back for her other items. When she returns she clears her throat and says, "A-hem. I am going to make a spell that casts a perfect dream."
She fills the cauldron with lemonade before tossing in a soothing lavendar bathbomb. She continues muttering under her breath as she she waits for the liquid to boil. Once it does she lovingly places in an old stuffed otter that is clearly quite dear to her. The tears she lets slip over its sacrifice fall into the mixture. The anxious seeming young lady is oddly confident as she whips out a crazy straw to begin stirring. As the cheap plastic melts in the boiling cauldron she lets it fully fall in.
Smiling to herself she pulls out a rather large container of glitter from a pocket in her robe that seems much too small for what just emerged from it. She dumps the whole thing in - and here a small glimmer of mischief seems to spark in her eyes - and suddenly the cauldron's contents make a high-pitched whining sound and turn crystal clear. "Done!" She pulls out a small bubble wand that she dips into the cauldron and uses the mixture to blow a small bubble that is then trapped in a vial. "There we are, just let that loose before you fall asleep and you'll have nothing but good dreams," she announces as she offers the spell to the Swamp Queen.

A middle-aged elf in druid's garb, carrying a rowan staff, approached the Swamp Queen's cauldron. After a single swift glance at the unusual unicorn, he turned his attention to the grimoire and began paging through it, stopping occasionally to rummage through the contents of his pockets and herb pouch. At last, he stopped at a page that seemed to meet with his approval.
"A spell to - that must be rejuvenate - and restore dead plants to life, hmm? Not exactly the right time of year for it, but it should be easy to see the effects, at least," he mused aloud, turning to the cauldron. "Ash bark for healing and power, elderberries for purification and completion of the Circle, holly for rebirth, oak sap for strength, pine needles to make the soil fertile, rowan leaves for protection, and yew wood for immortality and rebirth." He deposited the ingredients one by one into the cauldron as he spoke their names and purposes. As the small chunk of yew wood, the last named ingredient, fell into the potion, the water turned a pale brownish color and began to give off steam. The Druid took his staff and began stirring the mixture with a slow, careful clockwise motion, chanting softly at first, then rising to a crescendo as the water slowly turned from brown, to red, to green and the scent of pine filled the air.
As his mixture reached a boil, the elf stopped stirring, let go of his rod and, with both hands, made a gesture of release. The mixture in the cauldron rose like a giant bubble and burst with a loud POP, sending shimmering gobs and droplets all over the clearing. In spite of the season, every plant the droplets touched seemed suddenly to acquire new life and vigor. The green of new shoots and grass became visible through the fresh leaf-falls, and even the Druid's rowan staff now sported a branch with a few leaves.

Ghost in the Graveyard
It was a silly reason, really. An old tale told to me as a child by another that was meant to spooke me as we walked past a graveyard. The idea that I could be possessed by taking breath when passing by one seems ludicrous now as an adult but I still do it anyway for the fun - the challenge. I've never actually entered a graveyard before. Knowing I wouldn't actually be harmed by a spirit's jealousy over my life I decided to hold my breath and walk as far in as a could without taking another.

The eleven faced girl had hung back, watching from the shadows as others cast their spells to try and capture the attention of the Swamp Queen. After all had been quiet for a while she moved forwards with halting steps ending in a slightly clumsy bow, nerves getting the better of her. Taking a steadying breath she moves to the cauldron and starts weaving her spell, reaching now and then into a pouch at her waist to pull out ingredients to add. Snippets of her casting can be heard now and then as a breeze seems to spring up muting much of what she is saying. 'Dire wolf tears' 'ice slivers' 'babies laughter' 'crystallised rainbow' and 'sweet silversage' are all caught on the wind and by any ears that might listen. The cauldron bubbles gently forming a silvery film. As her words rise a silver dagger flashes drawing out a single drop of blood from her finger which she adds with a flourish. The breeze dies and she lowers her head waiting. Very slowly a globe of silver rises from the cauldron floating and turning slowly in midair. Shadows and shapes can be seen flitting in the globe which slowly clears revealing a tiny world. Faeries and minature birds and animals shimmer in the illusion, so real you could touch them. The woman moves slowly away, head down, her spell done.

My breath comes out in a whoosh several meters into the cemetery and I'm left looking around the place. For a place so full of death there is also a surprising amount of life. In the faded greens of the trees gentle bird song dances between the branches and there's a tell-tale skittering of little claws indicating chipmunks or squirrels. Below the sound of wildlife though there is the chilling whisper of wind and I can't tell if the calling I hear belongs to it or something else. A shiver runs down my spine and I pull my sweater tighter around me. It feels like I'm being watched.

Double, Double, Toil, and Trouble
Saturn approaches, pouches and bags on her belt bulging with the various ingredients that are the tricks of her trade. She contemplates the Elenaria mare for a moment, pondering what might be best for this situation.
She starts selecting things.
First, a feather, raven-black and shining with iridescence. "Something dark and mysterious," she speaks, placing it before her.
Second, a bit of shaped silver, its form a twisting ring of leaf and vine. "Combination of the natural world and the world of men, wild beauty shaped with ore."
Third, a red-orange candle. "For fire, which burns and destroys, which lights and guides, which cooks and cleanses."
Fourth, an amethyst point, clear purple and glinting. "For clarity, and some protection against nightmares and what lurks in the dark, for one should never tempt fate too mightily on Halloween," she says with a slight smile.
Fifth... a handful of peanut M&Ms. "Because what would Halloween be without some treats to balance out the tricks?" Saturn says with a wink.
She tosses them all into the cauldron, concentrating of forming the magic to bind them, and waits to see what happens.
For a moment, nothing, and then from the ground sprouts a slender sapling. All at once, it is sturdy but fragile, shining but dark, and living but... somehow, a part of it echoes the undead of All Hallow's Eve. Different sections of branch seem to be made of different materials, and yet it forms a cohesive whole-- a strange thing, mimicking the growth of nature, but somehow beyond it, not quite of this realm.
Slowly, a bud on the tree opens, and an M&M drops out.
"Well," Saturn remarks, head tilted consideringly to one side, "that should grow into a rather unique tree."
Ghost In The Graveyard
She wasnt quite sure what had drawn her here yet she found herself wandering the border of the graveyard. What she would admit to no-one not even herself is that she didnt even recall making her way here, her mind was blank and although this should have frightened her, this mysterious black hole in her mind she found it a soft and hazy comfort, almost as if something warm and furry nestled there, just out of her reach, a prescence she couldnt explain. She hesitated for but a moment at the gate before opening it on creaking hinges. The ground was soft underfoot and she walked slowly, hand trailing over the crumbling stones, eyes half closed as she listened, almost able to feel from each the echo of the person whom laid burried below. Some brought smiles to her lips, others formed tears at the corners of her eyes until one, an ordinary one, made her gasp and she sank to her knees forehead resting against the cool stone, letting the echo of a life wash over her. A life she all but knew and remembered well.

I call out a tentative, "hello?" into the night and can see my breath on my lips as I do so. Was it this cold when I entered the graveyard? I can't quite recall but I shiver anyway. The wind picks up in response and the feeling of being watched intensifies. My voice is shaky this time when I call out, "I don't mean any harm I just...was playing a silly little game. Would- would you like to play too?" Can whatever is watching me even hold its breath? Does it have breath at all? "I could do with the company if you want...honestly being stared at is kinda creeping me out right now. So...please come play? Please?"

Magic filled the air, swamping the clearing with its weight. The Swamp Queen lowers her head to the cauldron, breathing in the scents, the tastes of the spells. And she knew.
She strides proudly, seeking again that bright glow, the deep connection that pulled at her. In her wake is the spicy aroma of cypress and sage. She pushes her head into Wildfilly's chest and imperiously lifts it again. Her choice has been made, and the magic has been accepted.

Ghost In the Graveyard
The feeling of being watched made her skin prickle and she raised her head, searching for the source. Evening was fast approaching now and she wondered idly how long she had been here, lost to the world in a world of her own. Finally she thought she could make out a shape in the dusk, an ethereal creature, watching her, waiting. She began to hum softly, a soothing lullabye for year ago, she wasnt even sure where she recalled it from. Keeping her movements slow, she rose slowly, pausing, her eyes staying on the creature, the lullabye flowing freely. Slowly she moved forwards, closing the distance until, mere feet away she once more sank down onto her knees, melody trailing softly off as she gazed up at the mare in front of her. 'You look as alone as I feel in this place. Come, let me soothe your sorrow and mine' she whispered raising her hand up to the shadow and opening her heart. 'Be my companion in the darkness and the still of the night, while the moon shines on or hides its light' Once more the melody flowed, an outpouring of acceptance and reassurance.

Ghost in the Graveyard
The movement is from beyond the trees, then just behind the large statue of a weeping angel. Then she stands there, ears back. She has been lonely, here among the dead, and the promise of companionship, especially in the darkest hours, sways her to join the figure kneeling on the ground. Hesitantly and carefully, she stretches out her neck to blow softly atop the head of BKC. A walk in the moonlight would be perfect, and let's not forget the lullaby, the song of the night.
This was incredibly difficult to judge!!! Ember and BKC both did phenomenal jobs. Ember really captured the nature of the graveyard, the creepiness lined with life and hope. BKC touched upon the sorrow of those who have gone before. Thank you both so much for entering!!! I love your entries!!!
