Payments are usually made as soon as possible when purchasing things or winning auctions. However, I do have a bad habit of following too many threads at once, and thus ending up losing track or forgetting about some of them. In particular, auction threads that are long running. In these cases, I do sometimes need poked, to remind me of the auction, and that I won it and need to pay.
