I used to watch them a lot when I was younger.  A LOT younger heh But I hadn't seen any in ages.  Not sure why, I knew they were still out there, but somehow I never watched them any more.  The other night I stayed up really late and watched 3 stand ups with my son.  They were great!  I haven't laughed so much in a very long time.  Today I watched another one with one of my sisters.  It was OK, but not great.  The guy used too many props in my opinion, and just wasn't all that funny.

The first one I saw with my son was the best.  The other two were good, but not as good as the first.  His name is Jo Koy.  And he's freaking awesome!  There wasn't a single moment of his show that I didn't enjoy.  The second Guy was Bruce Bruce.  He was funny too, though not as good as Jo Koy.  Bruce uses the audience too much for my liking.  Heckling the audience is fine, and can be funny, but only up to a point.  After that, it leaves off being amusing and becomes annoying.  The third guy, I can;t even remember his name.  It was after 7 am by that point, and my eyes didn't want to stay open.  I remember he had a slow start, but once he got going he made me laugh.  Beyond that, I just remember falling into bed lol

Today's comedian, was "something something person".. seriously, I can't remember his name any better.  he was sadly, very forgettable.  I laughed a couple times, my sister laughed a few more times then I did, but mostly I found him rather stupid and boring.

(Oh and, not sure if those names are their real names, or stage names.. )

Anyway, who else likes stand up?  And do you have any favorites?  I am searching my Netflix now, trying to find someone decent to watch while I color my SC's lol  But I just don't know any of these comedians any more.

We enjoy Pablo Francisco (guh, did i just botch his name? <<;). NSFW or younger audiences, tough. xD;  His Movie Guy voice bit was super awesome.  ^^

Otherwise, i'm a bit too picky with my humour to really enjoy most stand-up comedians.  ^^;;  i don't like a lot of vulgarity and i find a lot of today's comedians to play up idiocy, both their own and others a bit too much. ^^;;;;

I'll look him up, see if netflix has him for instant play :)

Yea, I can get into all sorts of humor, but I know "my" idea of funny and others is usually not mesh-able rofl

I looooooove stand up! ^_^ If you trek over to hulu.com, they have up all the current episodes of the reality program Last Comic Standing. This season just started, 4 eps so far, but the talent on it is out of this world!

indigowulf

we have a local club that features local talent. its owner has been asked to open for people in vegas and the troops in iraq. my favorite bit of his are "nazi nursery rhymes" where he starts the rhyme normally, but somewhere he randomly screams COVERED IN BLOOOD! which changes the meaning entirely- for example, mary's little lamb becomes a homocydal monster. His name is Chris Warren, from spokane, wa. Im not sure if he's googlable, never tried.

We also have Jon Eagle-bear. He delivers his entire ruitene in a monotone voice, barely even pausing to let you laugh at a punchline. Somehow, it makes it more amusing. It takes some people a moment to catch the punchline, and by then, they cant laugh because theyd be interupting. So, the entire audience ends up trying to hold back LOLing, its like adding tension, it makes it way better.

I adore the boys from tv's whos line too :)

Found a 22 minute set by Pablo Francisco on Netflix, he was funny!  I still like Jo Koy best so far, but Pablo was quite amusing :)

Ohh I actually have seen one of the Last Comic Standing shows on Hulu.  I didn't really  enjoy the selection process all that much (the comics weren't allowed to stay up there long enough).  But I really enjoyed the rest of the show when they brought the back out to compete.  It's deffinatley on my Hulu subscription list though :D

Indigo those two sound.. interesting lol I'll have to try and look them up later.  I guess Netflix wouldn't have them..  Maybe someone put a tape on you tube though.. That second guy I'd relaly like to see hehe

I like Russel Peters.  he has been on TV a few times and on Just for Laughs a couple times.

I am also a big fan of Ron White and Bill Engvall.
One of the titles of Ron White's Stand up shows is "You Can't fix Stupid"  I loved it and even now after watching it a bunch of times I still laugh.

Most the comedy I watch is not child friendly
