I have a male that has been blowing a nice bubble nest, at first I didnt think he'd be any sort to want to breed as quite as he is, but his nest is starting to take over his tank and I think its about time for a girlfriend?

Basically they'd be veils of course as he is a petstore baby, however I have a 'mom & pop' store close to me that has a veil female thats a nice orange. Not so sure how betta genetics go but id think I'd have some nice blues, reds, & oranges.

However considering the size of the breed would more then likely be enought to make some people sick, and my local store will only take some of the babies at maturity I was wondering before I went along with this adventure if anyone would be interested in a baby for the price of shipping (not sure what that goes as, I believe I can ship in a flat rate with a couple heat packs for rather cheap.

Ooh, someone else here is also a betta fanatic! 8D

I attempted to breed a few veil tail bettas a few years ago, and I got them to spawn and the babies to hatch. The problem I had was keeping the fry alive. They died after only a few days. I'm not 100% sure why, but I haven't tried to breed bettas since then. :( The death of the fry and the mother was quite upsetting...

Anyway, here's a website on bettas that I found to be quite helpful:

I got most my my information on bettas in general here. The website also provides some great information on breeding bettas and raising the fry. :)
Hope that helped!

My veil apollo is just far to agressive for breedineg, he shreaded my girl medusa to the point that she could barely swim and last night she passed away. Im not sure for why but she did so needless apollo is now no longer allowed to have girlfriends. My other boy ceres was sadly nipped at a bit and his tail is now in half. So I've seperated him from his girl and im going to give a couple months for them both to take a break and grow back some finnage.

On the other hand I have some lovely guppy babies that are starting to show some nice color. It looks like the mass of them are going to males as their color is VERY vibrant but theres a few dull ones that im going to guess as girlies as they are bit smaller.
