Is there any such thing as a wild breeding?

If not, anyone wanna go halfsies on a pretty fantasy ocelot litter?

To clarify, for the baby of an ocelot we are not allowed to keep, can we rehome it as we please or will you be doing that?

Is there ANY way we can keep more babies somehow? Via an item or something? (Only saying this assuming you have be-rid of the registered den deal, which gave users 4 babies per breeding to keep)

Also, for fruit baskets, are you planning to stick with the way I did those? For example, using a fruit basket with an Ocelot litter would /always/ result in 3 babies.

So I figure females can be used once, yes? Is there a limit on males?

Yes, Fruit Basket guarantees 3 Ocelot cubs. Hmmm....how about if you get 2 you can keep one or if you get 3 you can keep 2? Or, some kind of USD item to claim more than the alotted limit?

You can rehome any babies as you like. But, if they are not rehomed by the end of the season (end of the month) they will either be; deleted from the system or put up for bid....which do you guys prefer? Or any other ideas?

We can do a Wild breeding, but how can we do that for the system? I can make a "Wild" male/female so that you have a ID number to enter into the system....what do you think?

Okay for a same gender breeding, Maybe... A mirror? XD Trying to think of something real animals would relate to same-gender.

On the USD, Its not my adoptable anymore, but I kinda feel weird on having something for USD like that. The way people got to have more babies before was for a small fee in SG every month. My main thing was making sure /everyone/ could get /all/ the benefits. It just didnt seem fair to me to halt some people from getting the benefits because they didn't have the money or whatever. I think thats partly why everyone loved CDA so much, is that I made sure that everything was accessible to everyone. :) But that is ultimately up to you.

The way I did the extra babies thing is how Leet does it: You set the amount of babies the user can keep from that litter (lets say 3), and the litter was a group of 5. The way the system does this is completely on its own. Since you set that litter to 3, the remaining 2 are automatically sent back to the Umm Gaia account once the litter grows, so you can do with those as you please. (Which is partly why there are soooo many premades... >.>) So you really dont need to do anything they are just automatically sent to you when the owner doesnt rehome them all in time. Its such a wonderful little tool. I LOVE IT. -Actually ALOT of the agencies here do that. Its so much easier XD

Wild breeding:
All you have to do is just enter the parent thats actually being bred and leave the other one blank. It will show up with the one parent on their pedigree for you. ^^ No need for a "wild" pet with an ID.

I don't think I ever had an item for that (just too much extra work for a little thing), so if you want to keep things simple I'd just let them submit those like anyone else does.

And like Quinsta, you have to approve yourself. (Also if ya click the box that says magic feed or whatever the other one is, it shows up automatically, which is why mine looks silly with magic feed on there twice.)

Looks like it from when I resubmitted my from December breeding yes. I can try with my second breeding, not adding the uh magic feed bag in the info box.

Betta breedings are 4 babies average with a maximum of 6 possible.

Another question!

I think with the old way, there was a chance when breeding two fantasy colors that you wouldn't get fantasy (Maybe 25% or something) Is this still true? (So Fantasy x Fantasy =/= Fantasy) Or will fantasy x fantasy = fantasy?

And when breeding fantasy x normal, what's the ratio for the passing fantasy to normal?

* 10% chance of fantasy baby with Fantasy X Normal
* 30% chance of fantasy baby with Fantasy X Fantasy
* Magic Feed will guarantee a fantasy litter, no matter what

This is what I had. Its still listed on the agency page so I'm assuming its the same now? Not totally sure though.

I'd really REALLY not like this, it would just be too confusing/too much to try and remember.  I already highly dislike being forced to trade pets away before they grow up, and often enough simply forget to/miss the deadline, and lose some.  But to make different breeds/species have a different amount allowed to be kept, plus make a different amount allowed to be kept for different litter sizes.. I'm afraid this would be just too much for me, I'd stop breeding entirely most likely.

So... apparently, that wasn't the case. My breeding is cancelled, and my in-season breeding box is  missing. So... uh... how can this get fixed?

Oo weird. When Sarah gets home from work, just have her manually add your items back in your inventory.

Hooray. I guess I'll just leave the other two breedings without the magic feeds though, as I don't feel like messing with all of this again.

But yeah. The items disappeared from my inventory as soon as I sent the breedings in, and I don't think they come back when you cancel. So... uh... make sure you have what you want on there the first time around, haha.

Wild breedings work for "uploading" with only one parent listed.  But to submit a breeding using the automated system, you have to have 2 parents. 

Sarah, you maybe can let wild breedings be posted in forums, manually remove the breeding items, and then when you upload the babies, just list only the one parent. 

As far as I know this is the only way without making a "wild" pet to breed with as you suggested.  But not sure folks would like that, as then every wild breeding will relate back to that one ID number.

Gonna see if we can get that fixed for breeding to a wild mate. If you all want to wait for those breedings please. :)

Okay, based on what Wild has on the Agency page for Registered Dens, the fee is 15k per month or 180k for the year. I can go back through the transactions and see who is current on the fees. Or PM me if you want to pay the fee and become a Registered Den.

SO. Here's whats going down... Wildfilly94 (me) is going to be the new "secretary" for Den records, or at least until I straighten things out and get everything normal and easy to understand for Sarah.

I am making a few changes for Dens. First and foremost.. There is to be only /ONE/ den per person. No more individual dens per breed per person. You will have just ONE den, period. This will make things WAY easier on us, and since Banu Gaia is expanding with many breeds to come, there would just be way too much to maintain. I hope you understand, but there is no arguing or whining against this new rule please. With that said, I'm going to have a form and instructions for current dens to pm to this account to change the name of their den to a more appropriate name that will match having a range of pets in one den.

Second... Instead of... whatever the heck was going on with item hand outs before.. I am implementing a new way to do those as well. You will now have the following choices for the items you receive each month..

Option 1: 1 Out of Season Box & Magic Feed bags to be given every month.
Option 2: 1 Out of Season Box & Fruit Baskets to be given out. Fruit baskets will be given every 2 months, the box every single month.
Option 3: 1 Out of Season Box every month, and an alternating item distribution; 1 Magic feed bag one month, fruit basket the next, magic feed the next and so on.

If you owned two dens, I will keep the later date on when your den expires. So if you had a rat den expiring 4/01/14 and a snake den expiring 5/03/14, I will make your new den expire on 5/03/14.

*We are also going to be accepting new dens SOON. Not right now, but once I have everything new typed up and everyone settled who has a den, you will be allowed to submit new applications!

My den had lapsed as no one really got around to telling me what I owed a few months ago when I asked, lol. But that's ok, as CDA wasn't really active during that time, and it's not like I was getting the item perks since I hadn't paid, so I think that all balances out. So, I'll just go ahead and send a PM to re-up. I assume that doesn't count as a "new" den.

I'm a little unhappy about that too, first having to resubmit when it's already there as I am busy at the moment so don't have much time for submitting breedings and then it going to the end of all submitted breedings by the time I get it in. I just finished coding up the wild breeding box.  It hasn't been tested yet, but if you'd like to play guinea pig you can submit, and let me know about any errors that come up.

In real life the only have 1 and sometimes 2.....so I roll for 1 also...not just 2 or 3.

Edit: In real life Ocelots only have 1 cub, and very rarely 2, I have been generous in allowing them to have the chance of having 3. I have changed how I roll for cubs, so getting only 1 is still a possibility but less likely.

I made the odds for 1 less, so there shouldn't be as much of a chance. But, just like for Elenaria, if you only get one baby, different arrangements are worked out with the person you RB'd with. We'll get it all worked out. :)

I suggest if you are going to change the rules half way through
do a cut off time for when these rules come into effect.  This will allow anyone new to submit breedings to follow the new rules, but give the people who submitted breedings under the old rules the babies they were told they would get.

either way this change to one baby has turned me off breeding my pair of ocelots sadly

Guys, that was my fault. I miss-read her rules when editing the agency page and the front post. The way it was explained seemed weird to me, but she did in fact have ONE to 3 first. When I went to edit things to make them make more sense, I missed the 1 part and entered 2 instead. Sorry about that!!

Also keep in mind that I changed SO MUCH when I first started breeding seasons for CDA. Its a growing process and you quickly learn what works and does't work. Sometimes I happens in the middle of a season. She did change, due to my mistake, that rolling 1 is MUCH less likely to happen now, so I don't see too much of an issue now. ^^

Patience, understanding, and lots of trial-and-error is going to happen through the first few events. It takes time, and its very hard for someone who hasn't had much experience to run an agency. Personally, I think Sarah is doing a fine job, considering the circumstances. <3 I don't want her getting discouraged or anything, and I know how accepting everyone was when I made silly mistakes and changes during my breeding seasons.

No and that is understandable Wild, and I think Sarah us doing a fine job too, but as I said above, even if it is a mistake that was not caught right away it should have been honoured with a cut off date announced for people to know of the change

People have asked me about a Custom Turn-In thread. I think we're going to finish breedings and bribes first.

After that we will do the Customs.

It's just alot, right now, for me just trying to figure out the breedings, coloring and deciding on the bribes.

Eeee! *jumps around* Kadana and Conroy were soooo nice, they let me use their Ocelots to do two more Wild breedings, so I can have a shot at getting a female Ocelot that isn't related to my male! ^_^ Thank you guys!


@Sarah - Please note I made a small mistake in breeding #5156 with Pet ID #566969. I accidentally clicked the "Fruit Basket" button instead of the "Magic Feed Bag" button. But there are only Magic Feed Bags in my inventory, no Fruit Baskets. :) Hopefully this is okay!

I think this is the most relevant place to put this.  I updated the litter display pages so you can see how many of that litter the owner is allowed to keep.

That will be extremely helpful for me Silv, I always forget how many for each agency and wind up losing some.  now the only worry I have is remembering to actually trade some before the deadline lol  Thank you :)

I created a notepad with all the Registered Breeders because I keep forgetting to go check the list in the Notary.....having in a saved file helps me remember better.

What list where? If you mean the breedings listed at the beginning of this post...those are just the old breedings that never got finished from the breeding season before...not this one. I want to get the old breedings done before starting on the new ones.

You can now wait until they hatch from their eggs, at 1 week, to decide which ones you want to keep (or trade away).  :)
