In mysterious fathoms below...
The sound of the waves slapping against the side of the ship is deafening, the roar of the sea unable to be distinguished between the thunder rumbling over head, as if ocean and sky had become one churning abyss. The ship pitches, the once level surface of the deck now a roiling mass of tangled halyard and sailors limbs that grasp anything and everything in the attempt to keep themselves and their fellows from being thrown overboard. It is dark, but the blue-white flashes of lightening are enough to see by. You happen to glance over your shoulder, your eyes widening in horror as one of your crew mates is flung backwards over the side. Something dark leaps out of the water, its arms wrapping around his shoulders to pull him beneath the waves.
What is happening?
Suddenly, the ship pitches violently to one side, and all thoughts but scrambling to hold onto anything you can to keep yourself from sinking into the dark waters are driven from your mind. You grab a hold of a line of halyard, but it is pointless-the mast is on fire, and its weight as it topples is dragging the ship downwards with her sails. The last thing you see before you take the plunge into the icy waters is the shape of an enormous sail fin, illuminated against a full moon that is haloed by storm clouds, as if some monster had risen from the depths to greet the ship on its way to certain demise.

Clothing Design Contest
Sleeping Ocean is all about customization, and that's why I want you to help me out! Right now, I only have a limited selection of clothing for the male and female Siren, so I'd like to see what you can come up with. As this is the adoptables first release, I think it should be commemorated by adding content that you, as its followers, would like to see!
How to enter:
Draw up a design for an article of clothing! It can be anything from a shirt, to a new type of necklace, to a whole outfit. You may draw over the template provided, or sketch on your own. Even if you can't draw well, don't be shy. This is NOT a drawing contest, it's a design contest- I want to see your ideas, not how well you can or can't draw. Let your imaginations run wild.

Rules:
1. By entering this contest, you consent to allow me to use your design to template a new piece of clothing that will remain with the Sleeping Ocean adoptable throughout its existence. This piece of clothing may be used on multiple websites such as PI, Secundi, or my own website for display and sale on any Siren. This includes USD and Virtual Currency sales.
2. All credit for the design will be given to you and displayed wherever the clothing options are shown.
3.Two entries per user. One entry counts as one female or one male clothing design, so you may enter with a design for each gender.
4. You may enter with both the male and female designs, but only win first prize in once. I will be awarding a first prize for one male and one female design.
5. Do not under any circumstances trace or plagiarize someone elses work. Such entries will be disqualified.

The Captains Games & Franken
Captains, as a rule, are expected to be responsible, upstanding gentlemen who-oh what am I talking about? He runs a ring of ships to capture Siren, so if you want to free them, then you deal with the crusty old coot yourselves.

AVAST! If Ye land lubbers fancy the siren, then you'll have to do the work to get one! What's that ye say? GIVE YOU ONE!? You think I'm just gonna give ye one? WELL I'M NOT! But this blasted lady 'ere says I gotta give you a chance. So if ye play dice with me, I might let you take one of these troublesome fish off my hands without making ye pay the price.
How to play:
Roll [roll*]1d20[*/roll] without the * once a day for a chance to win a semi-custom siren and beat the captain at his own game. Rolls of 5, 10, 15, and 20 are winners! There can be multiple winners per day, but if you have already won once, you may not play again until the next day to give others a chance.

Rumors abound aboard a pirate ship, or any ship at that! But the most interesting rumors can be found on pirate ships because...well...we're PIRATES! ARRR!....(The Captain glances from side to side, waiting for someone to look impressed, but only the blank stares from the audience meet him. He scratches his head, fidgiting nervously. Its best not to wonder what falls out from under his hat and scurries away under a barrel...) ARRR! Don't stare at me like that. Now listen up because I'm only explaining this once!
How to play:
Each day, I will post a new rumor going around on ship in the thread. Your job is to continue the rumor by elaborating upon it! The crazier you make the rumor, the more you make me laugh, the better you're chances are at winning. The game ends each day at 12:00:00 AM Secundi time, and starts again in the morning when I post a new rumor! The prize will be the premade of the day, posted below:

Please excuse the drawing on this xD It's purely inspirational, i'm not saying the skirt should look like that. My idea was for a halterneck dress (so the neck should be a ribbon) with a fairly tight body and then layered material below that, so lower down becomes more opaque. Todays Rumor: I've heard tell of a giant yellow ducky that terrorizes the eastern sea, who did he eat, and what happened when he did? )
So yesterday I was bored out of my mind, swimming around, splashing my splashes, when out of nowhere, I saw this huge giant yellow rubber duck! It didn't look so hot though. Instead of their normal vibrant yellow, I did notice he was a shade under. So I swam over to the duck and asked him... "Why do you look so un-yellow?"
"Squeaky squeak!" said he. Wait, you don't speak giant rubber ducky? Well, I'll do my best to translate. He said he'd eaten something funny that hadn't settled down very well.
More curious, I asked what. He told me he had eaten a purple penguin wearing a pink petunia pin and pretty pastel pants. Where in the world the penguin got the petunia, I'll never know, but Mr. GRD (Giant Rubber Ducky) did not like the petunia at all. So much so, it threw his color scheme off. And made his whole day rotten. He tried to go over to see a Ms. Giant Rubber Ducky. But she just laughed at him something fierce and she wouldn't stop for anything. I stared up at Mr. GRD wondering what the Ms. GRD had seen which was so funny.
Then I saw it.
He had some pretty pastel pants sticking to his beak. So I told him about the pastel pants stuck there, just on the left of the beak. He bent his head low so I could remove them, then he swam on his merry way, squeak squeaking as he went.

Its okay that you rolled again sunny, but the rules say "There can be multiple winners per day, but if you have already won once, you may not play again until the next day to give others a chance."
So you can roll again, but you need to skip a day between wins ^^ Basically it means more than one person can win each day but once you have one, you need to skip a day between rolls, but if it was unclear, that's okay, they are a bit oddly written and I didn't realize it until now.

Buried treasure? Well of course it is treasure! The question is more about WHO'S treasure. Treasure to a merfolk is very different than our own treasures, and they tend to horde well....things of ours that are junk. After facing the purple penguins with their ghastly pasley pins we came upon this treasure chest to find it filled with seashells, a fork, half of a spectacle, and what we thought was gold for half a second before we realized it was choclate wrapped up as gold coins, which had melted in the sun....

Those pastel dressed penguins are guarding that treasure so tightly, something valuable must be inside! Or.. atleast to the penguins.. To get past those penguins was tricky! We had to throw out alot of fish across the island for them to eat so they'd bak away. Once we opened the chest, it was full of little shiney pebbles. Penguins like to find the prettiest pebble they can, and give it to their mate in hopes she accepts it and stays with him. Well, valuable to them, yes. Valuable to us? Not so much.

I second Wildfilly's question! I'd be more than happy to pay to create a new trait and of course wouldn't mind if said trait then becomes available to the general public. I haven't send in my forms yet because lots of my girl character have short to medium length hairstyles and there's only one of those so far, the others are quite long, so I've been having a bit of trouble figuring out who to get.
Glad I'm not the only one. XD I also would be happy to have the traits I buy are put out to public use. ^^

I usually don't enter these competitions, I hate this style of poetry, in my mind a poem "should" ryhme lol Also, I am bad at counting syllable hehe but this lady is so lovely, I decided to try, just for her. I hope I did it right, I used an online syllable counter to try and make sure I got it just right, but the counter is giving me weird results, so not sure..

The first seems to have an extra syllable from what I remember for you, Kadana. At least the way I'm counting it.
yea, the counter thing I used kept jumping line one from 5 to 6 and back again, and line 2 from 7 and 8 and back again. Really confusing heh Putting in single words it counted alone as 1 syl always, and miserable as 3 always, its only once it's combined with the other words that it started jumping around and confusing me.

I wanted to post grid game, then read what Rose wrote XD Great minds think alike. Grid games are a fun and easy way to give out items! You can even toss in premades or semis or whatever if you wanna give away other things too ^^
I made mine myself, but I did use a backdrop that was free to use from a website. I added the grid to the image myself and also edited some Panda Shrimps into the background picture XD

When I right click the image and click save as, then open it on my comp, the image is really small (114 x 160 px)
I tried clicking the image, which takes me to the larger view on Photo Bucket, abut on that view it won't let me right click to save it.

The male is basically wearing a yakuza styled shirt with wrist bangles, a head pendant, and an earring. The obi is tied in one of the traditional knots. The sleeves are separated at the elbow. Head dress is supposed to be fabric with an oval stone of some sort hanging down.

The female is wearing another head dress, a necklace, a scarf, and a corset. The head dress is metal with a feathery like object attached with a stone. The necklace is pretty self explanatory. The scarf is supposed to be wrapped around her waist, criss-crossing across her back to wrap loosely around her arms. the corset is silk with long ribbons threaded through the back and tied in a bow tie.
I don't mind :) I have one semi custom form to send it but really all its going to say is a male to match the female lol

I'm going to try to get all of the male hair styles and such up soon so that people can actually see them, but although I actually have more male hair styles than female, a lot of them are long because that's simply my personal preference for men. I know that's not the case for many others, so since I lack ideas for shorter or mid-length male hair styles, perhaps we could post ideas and reference images for some?
I'd make a game of it and give out rewards, but I want to focus on peoples customs at the moment and building the next flat sale wave, so what I can promise is that if you give me an idea I like, I'll post in my thread if I template it that the idea was given to me for the style by you.

I will commence with customs sometime tomorrow and possibly work on flat sales, MAYBE (huge gigantic maybe) I'll make some pre-mades in a join.me, depending on how the weather is and if other people are home and distracting me or not.
For a male hairstyle that mixes short with a touch of long, I think having a style that is a little shaggy and short (eye length) all the way around would be nice and then for added fun and flavor have a single long thin braid on the side of his face.

So, I buckled down and made myself get the male options up today. Everything that is currently available for the male template is now on display in the thread in the notary office. Many hair styles you see under the male catagory are also available under the female catagory..why? Because they were actually origionally designed for the males and I just plopped them on the female template as well because I thought they would look good XD
Male eyesets have cat eye options, and just as a note, this WILL become available for the females as well, as will a cat eye option for set 3 of the male eyes. There is actually even another male eye set I don't have listed yet because they need adjusting and fixing. Anything marked "Currently Unavailable" Is because the template needs adustment.
Also, my final decisions on custom pricing have been made and changed in the thread. It is a drastic change, but I felt it was very nessicary. These templates are very time consuming to color, they took months to develop prior to introducing them to secundi, and I feel I was severely short changing myself with my origional listings after working with them on actual custom orders a bit more. I do not feel that my pricing is bad, as I tried to keep it within the price range of other adoptables of the same caliber. A full custom shouldn't exceed 700k unless it involves line art edits, custom ordered hair, or other such items that I'd need to template from scratch, in which case an additional charge would be made.
Many people stated they wouldn't mind it if I adjusted my prices after the launch of the adoptable, so I am hoping that you will all understand my decision on the matter. I have not changed my prices out of greed, I have changed them because of the hours of work involved in coloring the templates, and because I came to the realization after having more experience with other adoptables and seeing their shops, that my pricing was too low and rather unrealistic for the amount of work I am doing on the Siren.
That being said, for those concerned about not having enough SG to obtain a full custom, I am not heartless. I will always have free events and games were customs are handed out such as the ones in this thread, it will not be impossible to get a full custom, especially for a non-owner. I have no desire to limit the adoptable to only those who can affoard it, I simply have better judgement now as to what the actual value of the SG is, and a better understanding of how much work it actually takes to produce a custom.
ETA: I forgot to mention that it also gives me a better baseline for USD Pricing.

We are going to play the SHELL GAME! Here is how it works.
When the time comes I will be posting 3 shell images. In order you get to choose which shell you wish to search under. For under the correct shell a Sleeping Ocean hides. Once you have chosen, a roll of the dice will choose where they are hiding. If the dice choose your number you get to take them home!
This will be done in rounds for how many I can find. Since the game will be later, you know now the rules but you can also sign up :) Game should take place about 16:00 Secundi time.

Owners folders have been updated with the Siren sunny has colored. If you see a Siren missing from your folder or in the wrong location, please let me know! Also, if you see an unnamed Siren in your folder with just a number, please post a name ^^ I am doing the prep work for importing once the new certs are completed, and am using the owners folders I have established as a point of reference.
