Simply named 'The Experiment' or as I call them, fuglies (hehe) these are a multi stage adoptable that are like 'chimeras' or creatures that have qualities from different animals. They arent particularly cute. lol

So far I have two 'breeds' of these creatures done.

The first stage is Ova (egg).

This is the basic stage of all of the 'breeds' It is at this stage that you decide if you want to add any genetic modifications to your creature. (colours, mutations etc) Colours will work in an almost 'real life' way, in that they will have a genetic code that i will keep track of and creatures can 'carry' genes etc.
When you have decided what DNA, if any, you want to introduce to the test tube, you must introduce an electric current to encourage cell division (this will be an item always available)

Please Be Aware that the more DNA you add to an Ova, the less likely it is to thrive and grow. Two DNA items can be added without any danger, but the more you add after that reduces the chance of the egg reaching the embryo stage by 20% each time. So if you add three DNA items, the creature has 80% chance of survival, 4 items, 60% and so on...

The second stage is Divided Ova.

There isn't a lot you can do at this stage of growth. Since all 'fuglies' are genetically female, the Y chromasome doesn't exist. Though maybe...just maybe, on the extremely rare occassion there might be a 'Y' injection available, it would be appiled at this stage of growth.(The Experiement does not 'breed' like normal critters. You can choose 'parents' and combine thier DNA in the test tubes and add new DNA if wanted. Though normal breeding may be introduced in the future, the down side of it would be the loss of some stages and the inability to 'add DNA'

The third stage is Embryo (breed 1 embryo)

Not all Ova reach this stage of growth. Some fail to thrive. Especially if you attempt to add too much DNA. Once a creature reaches this stage, it is classed as viable and will survive.

The forth stage is Young. (breed 1 young)

Well done you're experiment thrived and was 'born'. Isn't it cute?? (This is an example of Breed 1, natural state with no extra DNA applied)

The last stage is Adult. (Breed 1 example)

You're creature is strong and a beautiful sight to behold!! (?? haha) At baby and adult stages, your creatures can be named if you wish, or they can just stay as thier ID numbers. Breed 1 is not exceptionally intellegent, and its best to name them simple, short names. (This is an example of Breed 1, natural state with no extra DNA applied)

Genetics and Codes - Capitals are dominant genes, lower case are recessive. All genes listed in order of dominance.

(Dominant genes are always shown and never 'carried' they can have one or two copies of the gene. Recessive genes *must* have two copies of the gene to show (one copy from each parent) if only one copy of the gene is present, it is not shown on the animal, but is 'carried')

The A (Agouti) locus

A(m) - Agouti (mottled) Wild type found naturally in Breed 1.
A - Agouti
A(w) - White bellied Agouti. Attractive but rare.
a(t) - Tan.
a - None agouti (black)

The B (Brown) locus

B - None modified.
b - modified. changes black based hairs to a chocolate brown colour. No affect on red based hair.

The C (Colour) locus

c(ch) - Chinchilla, turns all red based hairs white.
c(h) - Himilayan, turns all red based hairs white, pushes all back based hairs to extremities.
c(b) - Burmese. turns all red based hairs white, pushes some black based hairs to extremities, creating a brown body with dark points.
c(d) - Dilutes red based hairs by 50%
c(a) - Blue eyed Albino.
c - Albino. When homozygous, removes ALL colour from the animal, including the eyes.

The D (dilute) locus

D - No modification.
d - Modification. Dilutes black hairs to grey (blue). particially dilutes red based hair.

The P (Pink Eye) locus Breed 3 Only!

P - No effect
p - Turns eye pink, dilutes black hairs, no/mimimal effect on red based hairs.

The E (extension) locus Breed 1 Only!

E - No modification.
e - removes black based colour from hair, leaving only red based.

The O (sex linked, dominant red) locus - shown using on X chromosome, males only need one copy to show the colour, females need one copy to show patches, two to show full red. Breed 2 Only!

O - shows red.
o - no modification

The F (Fantasy) Locus - Semi dominant, in that when only one gene is present, it creates a slight 'hue' to the coat. Interact like primary colours. Can present as vibrant, dark or pastel shades. Can be bred to encourage this, but the genetic modifiers cannot be controlled yet.

f(r) - Red
f(b) - Blue
f(y) - Yellow

(There does seem to be more than one version of this locus, studies are being done on it now, but it is as yet unclear as to what they do. it varies from creature to creature, but theories suggest it may be there so more than one F locus 'colour' can be present at a time on one animal. When more than one F locus is active on an animal, each subsequent copy shall be known as F2, F3 etc)

The W (Dominant/Lethal White) locus

W - Creature is fully white. Two copies of this gene is lethal and the ova will not survive to embryo stage.
w - No affect.

The S (white spotting) locus

S - No effect.
s - One copy generally shows a tiny amount of white. Usually a head spot, Belly spot or tal spot, also on feet. Two copies show a generous amount of white.

More will be added later...my brain hurts. LOL

Pattern genes to come.
