Title: Christmas Present Growing?
Post by: Bunraku on November 30, 2013, 02:31:04 PM
Pardon the stupid question guys, but I'm trying to figure out something for an event I'd like to hold as I finish up my backlog of customs, but I'm running into a little confusion.

Basically, I'd like to have a sale/giveaway of "Christmas Bottles" and want them to grow automatically...but I'm not certain how to achieve this without imputing a parent Siren into the system ><; I really don't want to have to go in and manually update images, because I would never get it finished in time for Christmas x_x;;

So...is it possible for images to grow automatically without a litter? Am I missing something very simple ? ><;; Thanks guys!

I tried to do this with elenaria and personally found no easy way to do it at all. You'd have to create litters with wild parents but then they'd all be related and it's just a butt.

Would they all be related?

Once they're all grown there would be no way to tell that they're from the same litter and I always thought inbreeding was calculated with the actual pedigrees rather than what litter they're uploaded with. I don't know for sure, though. It's just what I've always assumed.

Anyway, if you create a litter and leave the mother's and father's IDs blank, it should just come up as "off secundi mom" and "off secundi dad".

I did this last year with Gliders, so it can definately be done. I'm pretty sure all you have to do is leave the parten IDs blank and i think i uploaded them all as one litter. None of them come up as having siblings, so you should be okay.
If that doesn't work, let me know and i'll have a look at the upload page and try and figure out what i did last year :)

When I did it for SC's, I think I uploaded each gift box as a separate litter, just in case, no parent ID's.

All right guys, thank you very much. Winged, if you wouldn't mind double checking me, can I PM you the password to my agency when I get the uploads done?
