[Elenaria] Welcoming Event![Closed: name from Keilin]

You have journeyed long and traveled far to be here. The trip on foot from the nearest city is nearly a fortnight, with few villages in between to lighten the burden. None the less, you have finally arrived. The trees clear suddenly into a vast expanse of meadow blooming with wildflowers. To the East it seems that the land drops dramatically before raising again, as if there were a crater breaking up the green.

To the south west a cottage resides. The dark wood is covered in honeysuckle and a sweet smell tickles your nose as you get closer. Smoke curls lazily from the chimney. In the breeze you can hear the nicker of horses and a young girl laughing.

As if he knew you would arrive you find a young elven man waiting for you. His long flaxen hair is pulled back into a loose ponytail; bright blue eyes watch you as sharply as a falcon. The sinking feeling that you are being judged creeps into your stomach before he nods (almost imperceptibly) and allows you entrance.

CREATE OUR BANNER

A bright and bubbly elven maiden skips up to you. "Oh I'm so glad you made it! Did Raeris almost scare you away? Well don't mind him. He's a bit of a stiff but he means well and no one is better with the Elenaria, well no one except me and my sister Saevia!" The girl smiles a moment but then, you can see the worry in her eyes.

"See I'm afraid that people are missing our little cottage because our sign was damaged in the last big hail storm and none of us have had time to replace it. Oh I know!" Suddenly a glimmer comes to the girl's bright eyes. "If you're any good at that sort of thing why don't you make us a new one! And the winner will get their pick of any of our Elenaria. Oh I know they would love it if you could help! What do you say?"


The game is simple...we need a banner! Something that can grab people's attention but is also relevant to the Elenaria and what they mean to us! You have until June 30th at 11:59:59PM Forum time to enter!

Clearly this must be your own original work. Do not plagiarize from elsewhere.

Elenaria comes from a mix of elven and music and means "Song of the Stars" so take that into consideration when you are working on the banner.

The winner will win a full custom Elenaria. Because this is a special event and we will be using this banner hopefully forevermore, this custom can include fantasy colors, but sadly must still use natural horse markings. (Fantasy markings are very rare indeed)

FRANKEN ELENARIA

Walking back outside into the clear blue day you notice the last of the three triplets. She is standing before an herb garden, a few tools laying scattered on the ground nearby, and she is looking out into the treeline, her eyes searching the forest for...something, or so it seems.

"Oh! You startled me." She smiles warmly at you, her strawberry blonde hair floating gently across her face. Her eyes like all three of the triplets are the most stunning deep blue. "I was just thinking about the wild Elenaria. We haven't been able to care for them all you see, and we each believe that there must have been other places where the heavens brought down these magnificent creatures. We've seen them wandering in the woods on occasion. And on even rare occasion they find us and come to live here until we can find the proper caregivers."

"You just came through the forest you say? Did you happen to see one? Tell me what did it look like and maybe we can find them!"


Franken! Together you will all tell us what this wonderful wild Elenaria looks like and maybe we shall just manage to find it wandering near the cottage!!

Natural colors and markings only for now! We promise there are some fantastical and strange Elenaria out there but the most common ones are those that are very natural and they are those most likely to be wandering the woods near the cottage.

(Edit for the future) Our frankens will, for the majority, be guideed frankens due to the nature of Elenaria and the fact that most are what you would find appearing in nature thus sometimes vast options are not available. The triplets can help guide everyone through possible choices and keep things from getting too out of hand.

Why Should I Trust You? (Story Prompt)

Outside in the meadow you once again see the male triplet, Raeris, carefully approaching a stunning Elenaria stallion. He is unlike anything you have seen around the stables, and the elf eyes you with caution as you approach.

The stallion snorts and backs a bit away from you, and the man reaches out a calm hand to steady the cyan stallion. "Beautiful isn't he?" The elven man asks, glancing over his shoulder at the Elenaria who reminds him of the sea. "He is one of the very first Stallions to hatch and that was when we knew Elenaria could really look...quite like anything." The man's bright blue eyes turn on you once more, and again the slow creeping feeling of being judged sinks into you. "I can see you are incredibly interested in him. I know he has grown weary of being cooped up in the meadow, and longs for a life outside, so....tell me why I should trust you." The seriousness in his voice brooks no argument. You will have to convince this elf that you are the best home for one of his beloved Elenaria.



Rules

Raeris is a very discerning man, and he will not allow any of the Elenaria to go home unless they go to the very best owners. It is your job to convince him of just that. In 700 words or less explain to him just what having this first fantasy colored stallion would mean to you. What would you name him? What kind of place would he live in? Be creative!!

The work you do must be your own. It should be your own! Speak from the heart. He isn't as hard as he may first appear.

You have until June 24th at 11:59:59PM server time to complete your story. Judging will occur on Monday June 25th.

After having listened to everyone's petitions, Raeris finds that the stallion has wandered off tot he far side of the meadow. He excuses himself and follows, seeing what the clever colt is up to.

That's when he sees a young maiden lying in the sweet grass. She and the stallion seem quite drawn to each other, and the girl converses quietly with him.

"Seems he has chosen instead of me. Congratulations Kahlira. Feel free to come by the house and fill out the paperwork for him a little later." With that the elven man nods to you both and heads back inside.

Raeris clears his throat and picks up his journal. "Yes I see you are interested in some of our Elenaria. Simply fill out this paperwork and everything should be fine. It just gives general information...so I know where to find you..." You aren't positive, but you can hear a dagger's edge to his voice.

We have a number of these beautiful creatures looking for new homes. The meadow is large, but it cannot contain the amount of Elenaria we have who come to us, so it is our responsibility to find them good loving homes.

Natural Elenaria are the most common Elenaira, with stallions being slightly more rare than mares. That does not mean that fantastically colored Elenaria do not exist. They are just very rare. There has even been rumor that some Elenaria have markings that have never been seen on a horse before, but these have yet to be seen.
