Introducing Planet Zar's working-line German shepherd dogs! We use real GSD colors and genetics for our dogs, but even rare/disqualified colors are possible in our kennels. To introduce our dogs to Secundi we're holding several events for some fully grown and pre-trained adults. All these dogs are looking for good homes, but there are some requirements you need to meet before participating.
- Do not direct link images! Please save them to your own server!
- You need to set up a kennel here on Secundi in the records boards, so your GSD have somewhere to live. The format is explained in the following post.
- If you purchase a GSD, we do expect you to enter them in competitions when they're open. You won't lose your dogs, but you won't be able to breed them if you don't trial.
- If you'd like to page your GSD off of Secundi, please link back to the website (http://planetzar.com/gsd)

Once you've adopted your first GSD, you need to set-up a kennel in the boarding area (http://www.secundi.net/forum.php?board=23.0) or the notary office (http://www.secundi.net/forum.php?board=22.0) of Secundi. Alternatively you may make a kennel off site, but the basic format is the same.
Your kennel will need the following:
- A unique kennel name (not used by any other Planet Zar Kennel)
- Breeding policies. Eg. stud usage/cost, any colors/coat-types you wish to specialize in, etc.
- Competition goals. Eg. Which sport do you wish to specialize in, if any? Sports are listed under 'compete' on the website.
- One post reserved as a 'whelping room' for puppies.
- A prefix or suffix to be used on all dogs adopted or born into your kennel.
(Prefix example:
ZAR Men in Black)
(Suffix example: Men in Black
vom Zar)
-- For suffixes, you may use vom, von, of, or from.
Dogs should either have
one post to itself OR
be separated by gender, so females are all in one post, and males are all in another. Please don't post males and females together in the same post.
You need to include ALL stats given for each GSD in your kennel, along with the image of the dog.

@Kahlira: Oh no! Hahaha. I love genetics-based adoptables. There is a chart and a color chart (http://planetzar.com/gsd/colorchart2.html) with genes on the website, if that helps you out any. And I'm always available to answer questions too.
I can read every chart there is, I just don't understand em. Pretty x pretty = pretty. And don't breed two whites together because the pups could have problems. Or something like that. Unless it's a white breed like the malamute.
Oh yeah, whites are fine in this breed. It's extreme white piebald that MAY cause deafness (panda markings, not "white" shepherds.)
And shepherds don't have merle or harlequin, so there are no worries there.
Some breeders IRL worry about blue dilution carrying genetic defects, but there haven't been any cases of it in the GSD. Happens in dobermans though.

The custom I'm getting is based off the GSD my boyfriend had growing up. I don't have any pics of him, but he gave me a decent description of him so I feel pretty confident that he will be close. I can't wait to see him ^-^

Yes, he was one of those you don't come across very often. We want to get one a s a puppy to raise around the kids. I love them, they are such beautiful and loyal dogs. There are a few other breeds we are thinking about getting if we can't find one similar to him.

@Country: GSDs are certainly one of my favorite breeds! c: No kids for me, though, but my one boy... who was NEVER raised around children, thinks kids are the BEST. THING. EVER. I swear, I'd get a spot on perfect heel if I had a toddler tucked up under my arm.

I wish my parents' dogs where that well behaved. Tey ahve rat terriers...or terrors as I call them. They can be sweet but they are extremely possesive. My dad's had bitten me numerous times and brought blood just because I've walked by and gotten to close when he was in my dad's lap.
I bought my boys for the purpose of doing schutzhund, so it's been training every day since they stepped foot in the house.
I LOVE terriers too, but they sure can have a lot of attitude! Definitely a breed that needs steady guidance and plenty of training. I have a "working" cairn terrier, who was trained enough to have manners, but he's mostly rodent control so no formal obedience for him.
I'd love to have a Jagd terrier in the future.
These three have manners when they choose to have them, they are just spoiled beyond rotten and they rule the house. The hog the chouches, chairs, beds, seats in the vehicles. Its awful. My dad's is trained to hunt, they all are used for hunting, but he is the one who has had the most training. He is also the most spoiled of the three.

Because he has so much shading, he's probably Ay fawn (although, equal chances of him being ee. Red is just a difficult color to determine). I think I see some black hairs on the inside curl of his tail? Hard to tell.
I'm going to make him a light red fawn with panda, and his 'panda' marks will cover up the mask he'll be genetically carrying. He's not ticked either, as his white parts are solid. He's a gorgeous boy, and it's fun trying to figure out what his genes are! Do you know what he's a mix of?
Can I just change the whole form to Artist's Choice? Lol. I fail at genes. And was in a hurry to make sure I got a slot.
His paws, though you can't see it too well, do have a white base with tan ticking, but that's the only place on him that you can see it, and only after a bath. Lol.
And his tail does in fact have a hedge of black, as do the tips of his ears.
He was listed as a white german shepherd when we adopted him from a shelter three-four years ago, and my best guess is a lab, and others have said the same. But not definite idea at all!

He definitely has some sort of spitz breed in him, for that urajiro pattern. He's not really piebald at all, but GSDs don't have urajiro so I must cheat. Hahaha.

Yeah, I had a picture of my little girl Baby, but thats on my old computer which died (Just my luck that the part of it that died also contains pictures/other various things you save to a picture); buscuit had a couple pictures but my dad has those, and either threw them out or they're behind alot of junk in his storage shed; Shy I'll have to search for, there MAY be photos of him somewhere here; the white sheperd we had was EVIL, so I dunno if I want a mimic of her.. XD; and Holly I seriously doubt my mom had any pictures of her, sense it was so long ago. D:

I'm Canadian, so I use DAY/MONTH/YEAR, but just to make everything easier I changed the end date to 'November 9th'. Yay, words! C: No confusion there.
@Wild: Oh man, so many shepherds! The two boys I have now are my very first (I did have a pet quality show-line female before them, but I sold her to a pet home), and I also live with two of my boyfriend's dogs (a Cairn terrier and a maltese/poodle mix). I had a couple dogs as a wee, wee child but my parents were no good with animals and none of them lasted for very long. There was Buddy (a sheltie), Carvan (a black lab), and Bella (a GSDxKelpie mix). I only have the one photo of Buddy from my childhood dogs.

XD Yes, we are a GSD hoarding family. I plan to carry that on to my family, when I have one. German Shepherds are my absolute FAVORITE breed of dog, ever.
Shy was the only half shepherd we'vve had. Not sure what he was a mix of, we think lab. But he looked just like a shepher, but shorter and less of that lean 'imabaddass' look XD
We have only ever bred our shepherds once, and that was with the white shepherd (Ill have to ask my mom her name, she was there before I was born)
Mom was pregnant with me, and the white gal had puppies one day. Wellll, she sort of demolished them and ate them AS THEY CAME OUT. So mom made my dad get rid of her... She was an evil beast. D:
