Sorry for this post being so long but please read it all if you're interested in breeding Garden Noms :)

Garden Noms don't have breeding seasons. Instead, we have a sort of  "waiting list" and I'll  contact you when it's your turn and when I have the time to do breedings.
To be added to the waiting list, please post your Username in bold. Don't worry, though - you don't have to commit to breeding your Noms if you want to be on the list. You can still say "no thanks" when it's your turn. However, you have to own at least one Garden Nom to be added to the list.

Markings can also be passed on without items. For a body marking to be passed on, both parents have to have the same marking.
A wing pattern definitely will be passed on if both parents have it. If only one parent has it, there is a 50% chance of the pattern being passed on.

To breed a Night Nom, both parents have to be Night Noms. If only one of the parents is a Night Nom, you need a Moonstone to breed a baby Night Nom. You can't breed a Night Nom from two normal Garden Nom parents.
Breeding a Night Nom with a Flight Nom will also result in Night Noms.

When it's your turn, your Noms can have up to 5 babies. It doesn't matter whether they are all from the same pair or whether you breed 5 different pairs. Females can be bred once per turn, males indefinitely.
However, you may only keep 3 babies for yourself, so if your Noms have 5 babies, you' won't be able to keep them all. You can trade them, sell them, or give them away - it's up to you.
They grow up when they're about two weeks old and I would like them all to have a home by the time they're grown up. I can also rehome them for you if you like <3

Once you're done breeding your Noms, you can post in this thread again to be added to the Waiting List again.

This is an example of what the baby lineart looks like.  As you can see, the babies don't have their wings yet but they will have them once they're all grown up ^_^

I'll try to make sure that I keep running regular Garden Nom events and don't get too caught up in breeding, so hopefully you'll be able to get your first Nom soon.

I will also have 2 spare babies to rehome once my Noms are done breeding as I plan on getting 5 babies ^^ I want to auction one (if that's allowed?) and give one away for free ^^

You can pretty much do whatever you want to rehome them - except sell them for real $.

I think I have most patterns written down now.. Except for Vienna's (#009) wing pattern. It reminds me of the Swirl pattern a lot of my other Noms have, but this one looks different. What is it called? ^^ (I don't even know what the wing patterns are called xD I have Fade, Spots, Stripes & Swirls written down)

I was wondering, is it possible to get the Rhinelander marking when using a snail?
I know that pattern is meant to be a bit rare, so maybe you are only allowing it for customs and when breeding Noms that have that pattern.

Yes, you can get the rhinelander marking when you use the snail. You have the same chance of getting rhinelander as you have of getting any of the other patterns :)

I'll have a look at what pets you have up for trade. I do actually like some of your kennel dogs but I think that adoptable is a bit too involved for me.

You can get as active as you want, of course. Just getting a couple dogs you like and maybe breed them isn't that hard, I think prodecures for regular owners got quite a bit easier now that we're on secundi.

I need to make a new thread. I have wobbles, gidgets and maybe one or two air~fish I wanna trade.

How do you keep from inbreeding when there is no visable pedigree?

I keep track of the rabbits' pedigrees so if you really want to know if two rabbits are related you could always ask :)
You are allowed to produce inbred Nom babies if you want to, though. Obviously, lots of people don't want to produce inbreds but there's no rule against it ;)

I would like to have a copy of the pedigree on mine as I know 2 are already related(brother & sister), just doesn't seem right to let them mix with each other. So would like their pedigree so as not to mix them by acident to a relative when looking for a mate.

I have my own Noms saved, but it would be nice to be able to see the others Noms that are out there, especially when planning breedings.
Right now I have to dig up really old topics to find other Noms for breeding.

It wouldn't be too hard to do but the thing is that it's another thing for me to constantly update and I'm really not good at updating stuff. I'll look into it, though. :)

In other words, you're okay to sign up, Kunaisa. You can borrow other Noms for your own breeding purposes when your turn comes (though most people will ask for a Nomlet as breeding payment), you just need to have one of your own to start.

You can use 2 form other people, I did with my last breeding.

It just means that you have to be an owner of at least one Nom before you can join the breeding list. After that, who you choose to breed (even if none of them are your own) is up to you.

Breeding being restricted to just your own critters is a feature of the Feli, not so much the Noms. I can't imagine trying to restrict a rabbit from breeding. XD

I also have a very long list of Noms that are all open for RBs/studs. Most require a Nomlet as a fee (but a lot of them are open to other adoptable offers too)and a select few require a bribe. The deadline is usually about a week but I will say the exact day in the pm. I only really give a deadline if I see that the person hasn't been online for a while.
I'm pretty sure I did tell you when the deadline was in the pm but I don't have it anymore so I might be wrong. >.<

I have a little announcement to make:

I feel like I've really been neglecting Nom breeding - a lot. >.<
It's quite awkward and with too many items and it's all in all a bit of a pain in the butt for me. So I kinda always end up putting it off.
So in an effort to remedy this situation and to make breeding easier for me, I've decided to make it a little simpler.

I still need to decide on a few details but I'll be posting a new breeding thread soon. It'll still be list based so when the time comes, I'll just copy the waiting list from this thread over to the new one.
Hopefully it'll help me motivate myself to do breedings more often. :)

I always loved Nom breedings and the way they worked, but if they don't work for you as the artist then it's time for a change <3

Yeah, I get confused with all the items and uploading multiple litters. >.<

I'll reduce the number of items and you'll only be allowed to breed one pair. I'm also planning to reduce the number of Nomlets per breeding. :/

It's not all bad news, though. All future Nomlets will have a mix of their parents' markings. :D

Though I also did enjoy the old breedings, it just wouldn't be fun if you didn't enjoy it too, Leet. I wouldn't mind if Nom breeding became similar to Feli breeding but I do hope we can still borrow other people's Noms.

You're enjoyment is crucial leet, my only sadness is the smaller amount only because I've not yet had the opportunity to ever breed.

However perhaps lessening the pressure on breeding for you will open up the potential for a few more first generation as well. -wiggles eyebrows- cause I would love to be able to get more involved.

I would also say if it doesn't make you happy how it is changing it will be fine, a shame of course but you have to want to do them
I would be disappointed if the number we were allowed to keep became only 1, even if the breeding only results in 3 nomlets, I would still prefer to have the option for 2 at the least

Echoing what everyone else has said.  However, I do hope certain items will still be usable - I especially like the ones that guarantee which markings the offspring will inherit (I have plans to collect at least one of every basic marking type) BUT if that makes it more confusing for you, then I understand why they would need to go.

I agree with everyone else, whatever makes it easiest for you :) I also think it would be great if we could continue using other people's noms, and keep more than one.

Unfortunately, that won't be possible anymore. The main problem with those items was that I often had to recreate really complex patterns and I was struggling with getting everything precisely right. I'm still planning to use the premade patterns for 1st gen Noms, though. :)
