Notice: I have seen some people already posting trade threads. I won't complain about nobody waiting to see how trading works, because it shows interest, and that is a good thing for me. However, I do need to post my rules on trading:
I will require that any individual fish wait until all breedings it is involved in are finalized before it can be traded. That is currently my only restriction. As they are not certed, they have no rehome fee.
There was a mistake by someone with a mod-hammer, the first thread was deleted. There is no undo, so, we need to start over. I'm so sorry! I have a couple of pending transactions that I dont know which fish was meant to mate with which other fish. Please repost if you haven't recieved your eggs.
If you do have your eggs, or I have your form in the huge quote post (which means it was on 2nd page and recoverable) you don't need to do anything.

Gallery is being a tiny bit snotty with me right now. I'm trying to update keywords, so that you can still search every starter once they are named. It is quite possible I missed a digit or added too many, I've already caught a few mistakes I've made. Will look once Gallery stops telling me my pages don't exist!

It does show the colors. There are body, fin, and eye colors geneticly shown on the egg. The patterns are just for fun.

I believe there was 1 item on the first page lost, I'm not certain if it was a breeding form or a naming, I just seem to recall a to-do on the first page.
@Lectral, I haven't decided. I color the adults and eggs at the same time, so the hexes on the eggs are a true match. I'm considering making them hatch in 1 week, or sooner if the workload allows it. I want them to be eggs long enough that people get excited for them to hatch.

So, probably a stupid question, but if we don't donate our eggs to science, do we not find out anything about the new babies? and if so, how do we figure out anything about our Fish genetics, etc?
If you didnt donate anything to science, you have to try to break the code by comparing with other eggs. Or, read up on the compilation of codes people are sharing in the breeding forum. Eventually, there will be enough fish out there that breaking the code will be possible without any hints. They just make it faster and easier.

The first person who breeds a fish that shows a mutation gets to name that mutation.
In the cases where more than 1 person was involved in the breeding, (or the fish was donated) the person who actually gets the fish is the one who gets to name the mutation. This is in the name of science!

If both parent carry a different color, anything is possible. Also, keep in mind, there are 3 color segments on your fish. Just because the eyes are the smallest part, doesnt mean the eye color parts on the egg will be the smallest part as well! I use true hexes, but not always true ratios!

Are our fishies allowed to breed more than once during each "breeding session"? Because somebody may use my female if they want to pay the blotting fees.

Females are allowed to breed once per season, males can breed 3 times per season
Females are once per season, males are allowed up to 3 breeds per season. I am still deciding if that will be the long-term arrangement. Female owners pay more, usually get 2 eggs, and have an easier time finding a mate from the looks of things. Male owners can breed more for cheaper, usually get 1 egg each time, but fight over the available females.

Since I got Roshan as my starter......I somehow became obsessed with the bright and warm colored gene pool fish OTL (since it seemed to me most were dark or cool colored XD) So I want to breed like crazy to produce more bright and warm colored fish X3

005 and Quincey have correct genetic codes. In Quincey's case, the gene expressed a bit strangely, but my art program insisted that his color is, in fact, a darker expression of the base color.
I had wondered about that XD and good to know on the genetic codes (and glad I helped you find an error X3 I know it must be difficult to look through them all by yourself and just be overwhelmed with genetic numbers XD)

All I am concerned with is that we keep it simple for Garney. Garney gets 1 custom form from 1 person and payment from that same person.

It's aslo quite possible to buy "extra" fish yourself with the Garney trade deal, and then trade them off later. There are no limitation on how many starters a person may aquire from trades. I still have not had anyone buy 2 fish at once, so I haven't been able to get any kennel dogs. hint hint anybody X)

SplitX, I have to stick by my own rule of only 1 starter from me per person. The only way of getting more is from trading with others, or supporting Garney and helping pay for the server. I debated with myself quite a bit before offering that last one, but I want to do my part to help, and haven't got the funds myself.

For the record, I "am interested" in a lot of adoptables run here. I made the rule for myself, to keep myself from overstocking the starter pond. There is a good chance I may get myself a starter fish and begin accepting bribes for his babies each season.

Guys, I need to make a request, because it is becoming a problem. There are threads where interested people can post if they wish to breed. Unsolicited messages really don't need to happen, as we have a board for that. Please only PM someone about breeding if they have expressed an interest in breeding with you and you are working out details.
Of course, I welcome any PM's to me about the adoptable for any reason. But please respect that some may wish to refrain from putting thier fish up for breeding, or aren't ready to decide, and messaging them may feel like pressuring.

Note: to try and make this a bit easier for you, I have separated the breeding's into 4 sections. 3 breeding requests per section, each section uses the same male. That way, you don't have to jump around, you can have the males genes handy, figure all 3 breeding's with his various girl friends, then move on to the next.
Also note, two of the breeding's are Silvanons, using my fish. (of course, she obviously has my permission lol) I shall colorize the two forms that are for her in green, to separate them out as hers not mines.

well, its sad though. I've had that money sitting in pay pal for quite some time, avoiding using it for anything, saving it for kennel customs. The only reason I got so many gene pool fishes is because my shuttle compy died, and with it gone I lost all my custom forms I had prefilled out, all the ref pics of doggies etc. i did try searching for new pics, but this comp is awful, pictures look like blobs, it just wasn't worth it. I was SO close to accomplishing my kennel goal of a breeding pair of each breed.. seriously, I was near tears.
But.. 1. I love gene pool too, and had planned to get a few anyway, so why not just use the monies and get more? 2. Gene Pool starters are limited, kennel doggies aren't. So while there will never again be a chance to get starter fishes, kennel dogs have lots of oportunities for me to adopt them.
So, I got more fishes. They are lovely, and appeased my broken heart over losing all my kennel forms. *snuggles fishes*

a lot. I had made excel sheets to list all the dogs i have, how many of each breed, how many of each breed I still needed to get etc. I had lists to tell me what names I've already used (cos I have so many dogs now) and I had lists to tell me who I wanted to breed with who, I had lists of forms I had prefilled out and ready to go, lists of forms I had Almost filled out just needed names..
I can't even contest my pets properly now, because the lists of who competes in what is on my blasted shuttle.
And.. humiliatingly, I had to call my bank and request the url to the bank website, and ask them to reset my pw, because its all save don shuttle and I couldn't remember it. I was so frazzled, I couldn't remember the banks web url was just there name with a .com after it.
A ton of things i use every day, a ton more of things I don't use daily but still need anyway.. and if they cant get shuttle fixed, then its all gone. So, it wasn't JUST the kennel doggies, it was just them that brought home exactly how totally screwed I was.
Oh my goodness that's terrible ;o; you poor thing!!
I can't even imagine what it must have felt like to lose all that data, and much less the mess you had to clean up afterwards OTL
I'm glad at least the fishies could appease your broken heart to some degree X3

The last thing I could locate, you were discussing the possible trade, but the final outcome wasn't posted.
I try to keep track of trading threads and transfer fish once they have been agreed on, but you really should at least post it in my thread (both parties) because I have too much on my plate already try to filter through trade post conversations in search of confirmation. I have been very accomidating so far, allowing trades even though I never posted a trade season, didn't require a trade form, and even tried to sift through chat for trades. I simply can't do that anymore, or I'll never get any eggs up!
Don't take this personal, red_uni387, it is not directed at you or because of you. It is simply that I need to make trading more professional if I wish to continue doing thing smoothly.
As of this post, all trades MUST be posted in one of the active Gene Pool threads, by the person who is sending the fish off, or they will not happen!
After this month, there will be a designated trading period with an official thread, instead of the random chaos during other events.

It could possibly be, but I have stated publicly that the patterns on the eggs do not reflect the fish inside, so dont be suprised if a plain egg is actually a fancy fish, or vice versa.
I don't use brushes on any creature I color. Eggs give me a chance to use fun brushes once in a while.

Feebas is an awesome fish Pokemon. It then evolves into a beautiful water dragon (like... super feminine Gyrados, but not XD) after you get it to level 20 with maxed Beauty stats. ^-^

Ah, I mentioned those two because both have a 2 in the most recessive fin shape gene, and none of the other gene 1s match. So I assume a 2 and a 2 will definitely produce a 2, and since none of the other genes can produce a 2, they'll always have that fin shape mutation show and no other :3
Oh Gene Pool, question on the fin/body color mutations (unless it'll be answered through hints or something later XD), what is it that determines the color of a color mutation? (I noticed it seemed like Peaches "splatter" fin color mutation took on his body's color. but on Ravvana's 101 the fin color mutation don't seem to follow any other body/eye color XD). I didn't know if it was determined by the actual genes, or if you just selected something at random XD (seeing as to how this adoptable is all about the genes, I would assume it came form there somewhere, but if not, I'm just curious about it XD)

To be completely honest, I didnt edit Ravvana's mutation from the original templated colors. I after decided to keep mutation colors matching thier genetic colors, possibly any of the 3 that I thought looked good. However, I dont wish to go back and change hers.
Having colors of mutations match colors already coded in the fish means there can be some very pretty "hidden" mutations.

I think it means if a fish's colors are close to each other, they may have a visible color mutation that you can't see, because it's almost the same color as the base color it's on top of XD

His fin color is different here than on the website. o_O;
The fins are semi-transparent, so yes, they look different on a white background than they do on a dark one.
By my count we've got one more body color mutation, one more fin pattern mutation, and three more fin shape mutations still to be revealed. I'm pretty sure I know what two of the three fin shapes will be like, but I'm very curious about the third one.
O___O -swoons- I KNEW it. Is he the only one with that? :3

Edit: And to answer your original question, yes, the spots on his body are indeed a mutation.
