SkysongCashew Patties
- 2 cup cashew pieces
- 2.5 cup fresh bread crumbs
- 2 cubes chicken bouillon, crushed
- 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup ricotta
- 3 T soy sauce 4 eggs, slightly beaten
Finely grind cashews in a blender or food processor. Pour into bowl and stir in crushed bouillon and bread crumbs. Add remaining ingred. and mix well. Shape into patties and fry over medium heat. Arrange in baking dish and cover with sauce: 2 10oz cans mushroom soup and 1 can water (chicken broth also works). Bake at 350 for 20-30 min.

DierdreRussian Tea Cakes
1 cup butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
3/4 cup finely chopped nuts (mixed nuts work awesomely)
1/4 teaspoon salt (might want to nix this if using salted nuts)
mix ingredients together, form into balls, bake at 400 for about 10-12 minuets. take out and let cool till handle-able then roll still warm balls in powder sugar. becareful as they are fragile

RiverwindBest Sugar Cookie Recipe
YIELD: 3 dozen cookies
PREP TIME: 30 minutes
COOK TIME: 6-8 minutes
TOTAL TIME: 38 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 Cup unsalted butter
1 Cup granulated white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 cups all purpose flour
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350° F.
- In the bowl of your mixer cream butter and sugar until smooth, at least 3 minutes
- Beat in extracts and egg.
- In a separate bowl combine baking powder with flour and add a little at a time to the wet ingredients. The dough will be very stiff. If it becomes too stiff for your mixer turn out the dough onto a countertop surface. Wet your hands and finish off kneading the dough by hand.
- DO NOT CHILL THE DOUGH. Divide into workable batches, roll out onto a floured surface and cut. You want these cookies to be on the thicker side (closer to 1/4 inch rather than 1/8).
- Bake at 350 for 6-8 minutes. Let cool on the cookie sheet until firm enough to transfer to a cooling rack.

3 large granny smith apples, peeled and sliced
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 large egg
1⁄2 cup butter, melted
Put apples in the bottom of a lightly greased 8x8 inch baking dish.
Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon and egg until it looks like coarse cornmeal.
Sprinkle topping over the apples.
Pour melted butter over the entire dish.
Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Serve with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.

EmberGingerbread Cheesecake Cookie Cups
INGREDIENTS:
COOKIE CUPS
3/4 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1 egg
3 tbsp molasses
2 cups all purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
pinch of cloves
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cornstarch
CHEESECAKE
12 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger
DIRECTIONS:
1. Coat cupcake pan with non-stick cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cream butter and sugar together for 5-7 minutes, until light and fluffy.
3. Add the egg and molasses and beat until well combined.
4. Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl, then add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until smooth. Refrigerate dough for about 30 minutes.
5. Make balls of about 2 tbsp of cookie dough. Press cookie dough into the bottom and about 1/2 way up the sides of each cupcake cup, forming a cup shape. Using a measuring tablespoon usually works well for this.
6. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
7. Remove from oven and allow to cool for about 10 minutes. Use the bottom side of a measuring tablespoon to press in the cups of the cookie if needed. Remove to cooling rack to finish cooling.
8. Once cookies have cooled, make the cheesecake filling. Blend the cream cheese, powdered sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and ginger together until smooth.
9. Pipe or scoop cheesecake filling into cookie cups.
10. Store in refrigerator until ready to serve.
I've found I usually have plenty of the cheesecake filling left over which I find tastey enough on its own or could be used for other things as well.

SaturnaliaEasy Baked Fish with Mustard Dill Sauce
For this, you can use whatever fish you have filets of. Salmon and bass are very good.
Ingredients:
Fish:
-Fish filets of your choice
-Olive oil
-Salt & pepper
Sauce:
-Dijon mustard (such as Grey Poupon)
-Butter
-Lemon juice
-Dill
-Capers (optional)
Directions:
Fish:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. Put the fish in a foil-lined pan with some olive oil, salt & pepper
3. Bake in oven for ~20 minutes, depending on thickness of filets
Sauce:
1. Melt a few tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over low heat.
2. Gradually stir in grey poupon, a dash or two of lemon juice, as much dill as you'd like, and, if you want them, capers. This is a recipe where you can add as much or little of things as you want to get a consistency and taste that pleases you.
When fish is done, put it on plate and spread some of the sauce upon it.

Don't you all love games and presents and random fun? I'll be combining all of those things in a game of White Elephant, a gift swapping game known by many different names however will be run in the fashion that YLO came up with!
The way this game works is that the first player on the list (randomly assigned) will select a present from the pile and open it. After that each player during their turn has the chance to a.) steal a previously opened present from another user OR b.) pick a new present from the pile to open.
If you get a gift stolen from you then it will immediately be your turn again. You will then be able to steal any unfrozen gift
except the one that was just stolen from you OR pick a new present from the pile.
A gift can only be stolen
3 Times before it is then "frozen" and cannot be stolen again.

Cashew Patties
- 2 cup cashew pieces
- 2.5 cup fresh bread crumbs
- 2 cubes chicken bouillon, crushed
- 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup ricotta
- 3 T soy sauce 4 eggs, slightly beaten
Finely grind cashews in a blender or food processor. Pour into bowl and stir in crushed bouillon and bread crumbs. Add remaining ingred. and mix well. Shape into patties and fry over medium heat. Arrange in baking dish and cover with sauce: 2 10oz cans mushroom soup and 1 can water (chicken broth also works). Bake at 350 for 20-30 min.
This is my go-to for the holidays. It takes a bit of work, but has always done well at gatherings for me.

Russian Tea Cakes
1 cup butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
3/4 cup finely chopped nuts (mixed nuts work awesomely)
1/4 teaspoon salt (might want to nix this if using salted nuts)
mix ingredients together, form into balls, bake at 400 for about 10-12 minuets. take out and let cool till handle-able then roll still warm balls in powder sugar. becareful as they are fragile
my BF's mom introduced me to these. she makes them every year during the christmas season.

Best Sugar Cookie Recipe
YIELD: 3 dozen cookies
PREP TIME: 30 minutes
COOK TIME: 6-8 minutes
TOTAL TIME: 38 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 Cup unsalted butter
1 Cup granulated white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 cups all purpose flour
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350° F.
- In the bowl of your mixer cream butter and sugar until smooth, at least 3 minutes
- Beat in extracts and egg.
- In a separate bowl combine baking powder with flour and add a little at a time to the wet ingredients. The dough will be very stiff. If it becomes too stiff for your mixer turn out the dough onto a countertop surface. Wet your hands and finish off kneading the dough by hand.
- DO NOT CHILL THE DOUGH. Divide into workable batches, roll out onto a floured surface and cut. You want these cookies to be on the thicker side (closer to 1/4 inch rather than 1/8).
- Bake at 350 for 6-8 minutes. Let cool on the cookie sheet until firm enough to transfer to a cooling rack.

Put apples in the bottom of a lightly greased 8x8 inch baking dish.
Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon and egg until it looks like coarse cornmeal.
Sprinkle topping over the apples.
Pour melted butter over the entire dish.
Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Serve with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.

Gingerbread Cheesecake Cookie Cups
INGREDIENTS:
COOKIE CUPS
3/4 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1 egg
3 tbsp molasses
2 cups all purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
pinch of cloves
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cornstarch
CHEESECAKE
12 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger
DIRECTIONS:
1. Coat cupcake pan with non-stick cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cream butter and sugar together for 5-7 minutes, until light and fluffy.
3. Add the egg and molasses and beat until well combined.
4. Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl, then add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until smooth. Refrigerate dough for about 30 minutes.
5. Make balls of about 2 tbsp of cookie dough. Press cookie dough into the bottom and about 1/2 way up the sides of each cupcake cup, forming a cup shape. Using a measuring tablespoon usually works well for this.
6. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
7. Remove from oven and allow to cool for about 10 minutes. Use the bottom side of a measuring tablespoon to press in the cups of the cookie if needed. Remove to cooling rack to finish cooling.
8. Once cookies have cooled, make the cheesecake filling. Blend the cream cheese, powdered sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and ginger together until smooth.
9. Pipe or scoop cheesecake filling into cookie cups.
10. Store in refrigerator until ready to serve.
I've found I usually have plenty of the cheesecake filling left over which I find tastey enough on its own or could be used for other things as well.

Easy Baked Fish with Mustard Dill Sauce
For this, you can use whatever fish you have filets of. Salmon and bass are very good.
Ingredients:
Fish:
-Fish filets of your choice
-Olive oil
-Salt & pepper
Sauce:
-Dijon mustard (such as Grey Poupon)
-Butter
-Lemon juice
-Dill
-Capers (optional)
Directions:
Fish:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. Put the fish in a foil-lined pan with some olive oil, salt & pepper
3. Bake in oven for ~20 minutes, depending on thickness of filets
Sauce:
1. Melt a few tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over low heat.
2. Gradually stir in grey poupon, a dash or two of lemon juice, as much dill as you'd like, and, if you want them, capers. This is a recipe where you can add as much or little of things as you want to get a consistency and taste that pleases you.
When fish is done, put it on plate and spread some of the sauce upon it.
