I do enjoy the game when it's working, although the constant downtime and glitches have worn their welcome. I'm hoping these last few maintenance sessions keep the game stabilized for a while though. I have Skydancers to save up for. =)

The art's awesome, doubly so if you enjoy dragons. If you're familiar with NeonDragon, she's the lead artist and one of the primary site admins. I believe the site in general was her brain child, so to speak. XD
Also, the games and combat system are nice for a pet site. They can be on the buggy side since the site's new and overcrowded, but they feel like actual flash games as opposed to the standard click fare of most pets sites. They're pretty fun too, so amassing treasure doesn't feel like too much of a chore. The dailies are also fairly enjoyable.
The lore really makes it for me though. There's a ton to read, and the backstory of the world and the Gods and the species information is really engaging and fun. There's a bit more to the world than just breeding pretty dragons, although it certainly can be if that's all you're interested in. =)
Keilin hit most of it, I think. I love the site because of the art, the concept, and I can especially appreciate the sheer amount of work the admins have put in.
There is so much information I can't even begin to explain it all, but I have two very handy-dandy links to provide if you want to learn more about the site.
This (http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=wiki) is the site's Encyclopedia. It should explain just about everything to do with dragons (Three of the breeds haven't been written for, but I'll touch up on them a little). If you look at Genes under section four I will note that it only shows the Circuit tertiary gene. We also have one other called Gembond. Some people aren't big fans of it, but I think it rocks, so... (pun intended if you will)
Also, this (https://www.youtube.com/user/FlightRisingOfficial/videos) is their youtube account. It has the cinematic version of the lore, some lovely art videos, and some explanatory videos about the site.
The breeds the encyclopedia don't have just yet are the imperials, snappers, and wildclaws. The only way we can get Imperials(commonly shortened to Imps) now are by breeding, as their scrolls have all been used (I'm pretty sure, anyways) and no more are planning on being created. Snappers are available for treasure, however, and are priced the same as Spirals. Wildclaws can be bought by treasure (On the Auction House), by gems (AH or Marketplace), and by breeding. People love breeding them to Imps because the game treats them as rarer than imps so you are not very likely to get a Wildclaw in that breeding.
That does sound good! Bit time consuming though, is it necessary to log onto the site often? I have times when i've loads of free time, but when i'm working i don't have much. I would be interested in signing up once they reopen registrations, so would be great if one of you could let us know when they're reopened.

I am with Winged, I don't have much time usually but sometimes I have a ton of extra time (school breaks, etc) and I like to waste it on games.
If you log on once a day to feed your dragons, then you get a little more perks, but the dragons don't die on you so if you need to you can leave it be. When the site's not lagging it takes less than 5 minutes to feed your dragons and use your gathering turns (Don't need to use them, but they can give you food which is important if you aren't going and grinding the Coliseum.). So you can play as little or often as you like.
Psh Neo you have a book? I have all three. XD Lol, but they come in handy so I don't regret getting any of them.
If Keilin or toff don't get to it before me, as soon as I hear they opened registration I will let you guys know.

Eh. It was one person doing everything and they fixed it. It's fine. But with the flight-change allowed, a lot of people on the Aywas thread think people will switch to the Ice Flight.

I have no idea, really. I never pay attention to numbers, but yeah. From what I understand, this person was using an app that prevents images from loading so the AH loaded that much faster and they would buy all dragons priced at a certain level and lower, then exalt them all.

What browser are you using Winged? I had that problem last night, when I was playing on my computer (IE). So I pulled it up on my iPad and tried there, and it let me accept the requests. Not sure if it was a browser issue, or if my mouse was being stupid again. But if other people are having the same issue... probably not my mouse XD

I use IE, but i don't have any other browsers that i use, so unless it turns out to be a long term issue for now i don't think i'll bother downloading another browser to use. But you're right that it could be an issue related to the browser.
ETA: Actually, i found that i've already got google chrome (must have downloaded by accident) so i've tried that and have accepted the requests. I also found that i couldn't send crossroads requests with IE.

I'm debating between Fae and Tundra for my first dragon. I did read the breed info on the ยป Encyclopedia, but I haven't read everything about how the site works yet, so I was wondering if there's a big difference/advantage/disadvantage between one or the other as my first breed/dragon? And does it matter much which gender I pick? Of course I can just pick what I think is prettiest, but I'd love to know if there are other important things before I do so XD

YLO, you'll have plenty of opportunities. You can even change the breed later if you don't like it! In fact, both of my starters are no longer their original breed. (You can't really get rid of them, but now you can change anything about them except gender. So.... Don't sweat it.)

Hit the refresh button on the top right hand corner of the image in your lair, it should regenerate the adult image :3
Runi - you can also try putting apparel on it. It might look like a hatchling still, but if 6 days or older, then the site treats it like an adult. Just equip apparel and the image will update.
Bun - she's still sitting in my layer eating my bugs, so if you want her, take her! She's the sister of your other skydancer, Lazzard, but she'd make pretties with your Taisho, especially if you give them a tert gene. They have a pretty wide range there.
Exactly what I was thinking, sky! very pleased with her red tert and I think she'd make some wonderful babies, Lassard has already outdone himself so I'm sure she'll be just as amazing.

I'm curious to know if Flight Rising allows users to make trades on other sites for their on-site currency or items. I find I'm having a great deal of trouble earning enough gold to expand my lair (mostly because I don't want to sell any of my dragons, I like them x.x; ) and I'm curious as to whether I can trade secundi currency for Flight Rising currency, or services such as coloring adoptables on secundi. If not, thats ok, I don't want to break any rules. Just wanted to know ^^;
Good question! I can't see why not but maybe you could ask in their help forum just to be on the safe side. :)
I remember reading something about that.... But I can't remember if it was just for gems or included treasure, too.
How I've gotten to 6 pages is basically exalting. Buy the cheapest dragons on the AH, train them to 5, exalt. It also gives you food so you don't have to gather for it. It takes me less than ten minutes for one dragon and gives a decent amount of treasure. I would recommend picking your favorite dragons and training them. (You can do caster dragons (faes, skydancers, pearlcatchers, etc) if you really want, but it's easier to start out with melees. (guardians, mirrors, wildclaws, etc))
I know some people are against doing this, but honestly I don't mind and it builds up pretty fast.
You're allowed to trade for other site items/currency as long as the other site permits it. It's a pretty standard thing and people do trading for FR currency all the time on other sites. <3
Chiming in to agree with Figment here. There's a bustling GP-treasure currency trade between Aywas and FR, as one example. I'm not sure how the SG-treasure rate would convert, given that SG isn't bought and sold for USD, but I'm sure if enough people start trading between sites, we'll figure out our own rates based on demand in time. =)

So, the fiancรฉ and I have both decided that we are both quitting Flight Rising. I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in trading Secundi stuffs for Flight Rising stuffs? I'm interested in everything, basically. I can do customs of all sorts (LC and Starlight Tavern mostly, but if you remember me coloring for something else I can check with the owner and see if it's ok), regular premades if you don't feel like coming up with ideas, art in general, rbs for anything's next season regardless with who, sg if you want it, and possibly pets (I don't have any up for bid, but there are a few I will trade)

Hrms. Winged can have all the dolls she needs, especially if it's for the achievement, same with runestones. I have no need for plant food as I only have a few plant eaters, but the other three are eaten frequently. Most of the familiars Winged has listed I already have, but there are a few I don't have either.
Treasure/gems I probably want just as much as she does. Who you give what is up to you!
An easy way to convert everything else (I will happily wipe your inventories clean once Winged has what she wants) would be to go by the Sell Value? Just add up the total sell value of everything you want to send me and I can do one kitty for x value. It wouldn't work for the things that are worth 0, but those can be figured out later?

Well I went through and made a list of everything in both accounts, other than dragons. I used your suggestion for most of the items Sky, some of them that I know are worth much more, or that have no sell value/value of 0 I just did a search of the auction house and used the lowest price there. I mostly did that with the familiars, because I have a better idea of who is worth more and there are some really big discrepancies between the sell value and auction value (Dappled Dunhoof sell value is 8500 and auction house is 1000000-- most aren't that big of a difference XD) If you guys don't think it is fair to use the auction price, then we can discuss another way of appointing value.
So the total value of all my stuff (not including treasure or gems or dragons) is 31,085,040.
I also have a count of the food points (except that it is wrong because I totally fail at life, so it is 4 pages more than this XDDDDDD)

Those three are fine to trade, but all are ones that are slightly more on the fence than some other pets, so i'll need a good offer :)
I'd be most interested in tresure and gems, after that i'd like a couple of dragons (probably not all 4 because of lair space, say 2 or 3) and then i'd be most interested in dolls and a few familiars.
I think it's mostly fair enough to use the auction price, but in some cases the value changes so much so perhaps would have to take that into account in cases like the Dappled Dunhoof where there's such a big difference in the two values.
So what sort of value would you give for those three pets do you think? I'm really struggling to think of a conversion for secundi to flight rising at the moment...

The only way I have though to figure out a conversion is to use the conversion of treasure->gems and then gems->USD, then we have an idea of how USD is valued on Secundi so we could based the value of things off of that?
1 Gem=400 treasure (rounding up from what it seems to be on the forums)
115 Gems= $1 (based on the biggest package of gems you can buy)
$1=46,000 treasure
If we do it that way we could just round up to 50,000.
I don't know if that seems fair to you guys, I don't know how else to base it without assigning arbitrary numbers, but I think we really just need a guideline to go off of, not something that we would be really strict to.
I think that's pretty fair, actually. 45-50k treasure per $1. Obviously as the gem-treasure ratio fluctuates on FR, that number will chance, but since I doubt this will take too much time, I'm happy sticking with that conversion.

I am going on hiatus as well, so all my gems, treasure, items, most if not all familiars and part of my dragons are available for adoptable trades :)
While I don't want to absolutely kill myself, I am curious. Would you be interested in tallying up how much you would have if you converted it all to treasure? Items go by the Sell value listed in their descriptions, we are counting gems as 400 a piece, and I value dragons at about 8k if they are adult. (Not your first two. Those are useless to everyone but you.)
That might also give other people interest in what you have. It makes things seem a lot easier when you aren't stuck with your own conversions.
Treasure, gems, scroll: I have 1066 gems and 239K treasure at present. I value my Tiger Scroll at 120K (people sell and buy them for the shop's discount price, which is 121.5K).

Familiars: I don't really wanna sell my familiars at the default sell price, so if you're interested in any familairs I've got in my bestiary for a value more similair to Auction House pricing we can discuss that (but I'm keeping my Downy Fox Rat, Speedy, Lightning Sprite and Golden Bantam Fangar).
Apparel: 12,650t for those with sell value, 30K together for the 4 items without (lowest AH value)
Treasure chests: As they have a default sale value of 0, if you're interested in those we can look into Auction House pricing for them.

Dragons: I value my Pearlcatchers at 10K (I always sell and buy them for around 20K), I also have a 1st gen (not progen) that I value at 15K, but I valued the rest at 8K for you. That would bring all dragons I am willing to part with to 215K treasure (this might change still, see below).

If anyone is interested in any of my dragons to actually keep, let me know. I think Sky wants them mostly for exalting? So if anyone (including Sky herself of course, so I can make sure the dragon doesn't go elsewhere) really likes one of them and wishes to give them a home, let me know before that happens. Same value as mentioned above (10K pearls, 15K for the 1st gen silver Guardian and 8K for others). So basically there are 15 dragons you'd let go for 8k; that would be another 120k. Treasure chests, depending on what you have, can go for a varied amount so I won't add them in just yet. (I don't like using market prices for them. I like them, but buying them off the market place gets you less than what you had before.) This brings you to 935.4k in T, which brings you to $18.708. (This is counting only what I'm interested in. if you add in people who are willing to pay more for the rest of your dragons, it would bring it up more.)

Not sure, to be honest. I haven't kept much track of the FR market lately. They used to be worth quite a bit but a quick peek shows around 10-15k? I'd probably accept most offers on them.
I have no idea how any pricing works on this site lol.
A good way to price dragons is either look at the sales and/or wanted forums for similar dragons or at the AH. I'm selling mine around 15k regardless because if I wanted to, I just train them up to 7 and get about 12k. (I usually do 5 when I have a lot to go through, but if it's casual training then I will go up to the higher levels.) If they are triple gened, or are especially pretty, I will bump them up to 20k.
Items you just look at the lowest of the one that's on the AH.
Ember - If I wasn't prepping my lair for the upcoming dominance battle, I would take them off your hands. However, I don't particularly want to exalt them so I won't be buying them right now. If you still have them after the 17th, I'll gladly take them.

I picked arcane, cos it sounded a bit like me but it seems pretty quiet in the forums even though its a bigger flight and it always seems to be bottom of the Dominance thingy.. but I do wonder if its just a case of 'the grass is always greener'.
I love the eye colours in other flights and hate being restricted to one (unless you borrow/rent a nest) and im not good at planning pairs to breed etc >.<
I also have no time really atm to make treasure, which Im finding frustrating

I'm don't really have any plans or something that i 'do' either xD I'm trying to get a few good breeding pairs, so working on that on and off trying to save up for scrolls to change genes and the like.
For the flight issue, i'm not really sure. I've always liked wind flight, and i love the eye colour. We have fairly good forums, varies how much activity there is and i've never really got into the more chatty threads but i've started to get involved in dominance pushes with a big team system which i find fun (though the last two have been really bad timing for me unfortunetely). We're often at the bottom of the dominance and find it really hard to win, i think because we're the biggest flight which gives us a disadvantage if a smaller proportion of the flight is trying to get dominance. Haven't looked at changing flight myself.
I'd be happy to lend a nest out to any of you guys at some time, just message me :) Pale green eyes are gorgeous.
My time varies for how much treasure i can make, but i'm happy to just let the site be dormant to me when i'm busy, then play when i'm at college.
Don't really have any tips on making a direction... depends what you want out of it i guess. I still don't understand how some people are so successful at the game, unless it's by pumping their money into buying gems.
Hmm... FR I started out trying to get breeding pairs, but my focus now is really just helping with Dominance. It's fun, it gets me treasure, and it doesn't constantly take up time. (Some days I can spend just a few minutes making sure my daily stuff is done, others I can spend hours.)
The possibility of changing flights is still there for me, but for now I'm content with Plague.
I mostly just use FR to waste excess time, if I have it. I've never been very good at the whole forum-based site thing so I mostly ignore the forums in general and just do my own thing. This also includes most flight related activity. I like the eye colour well enough and I picked fire because it suits me, but otherwise I mostly don't even bother checking my flight board.
Right now I just collect pretty dragons and save up for scrolls and the like. The games, more specifically Tidal Trouble, are easy and I often play that particular one while watching tv.
I'm in the same boat add everyone else. I user it as a time water and really so long add I am halt with my hoard of dragons so cats if I'm constantly broke?

I'm not really a color breeder, Ember, otherwise I would. Really dragons are for exalting or training for exalting at this point, for me anyways. XD And I don't think you'll have too much of a problem - it does take a little while for them to sell sometimes.

Yep ^.^ most of the monsters you fight drop as familiars too. Rare would be 5 star and I don't know the rarity when it's one rainbow colored star but less common than 5
Do you know the drop rates for eggs? Those are what I'm actually after, but so far haven't seen any D:
Eggs are really rare. I grind the coli as my main source of income on FR and I almost never see eggs.

I think I've got only two eggs with all the time I've been in Coli, but I'm pretty sure that's extremely rare. (I've gotten more eggs from the Coli than I have from Scavenging, lol.)
If you really want eggs, your best bet is to gather in scavenging, I've heard. But yes, the Coli gives you a lot of familiars. I don't bother buying from MP unless the familiar isn't one you battle in the Coli.
I haven't gotten an egg from the Coliseum - didn't know you could! Have gotten at least 3 from Scavenging though

You get 50 gems the first time they buy gems, no matter the amount. Then you get a small percentage the next time, depending on how many gems they buy. 50 is just the first time.

other than eye color, pretty much the same features. The only difference is you get access to that specific flight's forum only thread on the boards. Other than that and the eye color, everything else is the same.

I just hatched a nice clutch of 5 iridescent/shimmer fae babies (one also has crackle) - some of the colors are a bit odd, but if anyone wants one, let me know! Would anyone be interested in a dragon training service? I'll take your dragons to lvl 7 for free, and higher than that i'd like a trade either treasure/items on FR or an adopt trade from Secundi.
Exact details i haven't worked out yet, so for now i'll make it a case to case basis :) I can either leave all experience points for you, or apply them as per a guide that i've found excellent for training.
If you'd like me to train your dragons to a high lvl, and would like me to stat them myself, then i would recommend them to be physical dragons (or altered to become physical dragons) and have the necessary stones to make them far more effective for you. This we can discuss more if anyone's interested. I might be able to provide the stones if i have them or can buy them.
I possibly? Would you be willing to train them from 5 to 7? I train them to 5 as I get them, but taking them higher wears me out. I don't assign any points, but feel free to if you wouldn't mind doing this.
Sure, no problem :) For the points, i can assign them if you want but taking them from 5 to 7 it wouldn't be necesary. And to assign points, you'd need to tell me what you're wanting them for, is it exalting or using to battle yourself?
After more thought, i'll add to the previous post that if it were to get up to large numbers of dragons from one person in a short period of time i'd look for a small trade. Not making that a hard and fast rule at the moment, will see what sort of demand i have.
Just exalting, which is why they don't have any points assigned. And yeah... I have 50 and counting for training. So if you can do all of them, I definitely wouldn't mind doing some sort of trade. They don't need to be trained by a specific date, but I'd prefer them trained as soon as you can manage.

Anyone having any luck with the Thundercrack Carnivale? I can't find a good venue to grind in AT ALL. You know it's sad when I get a chest from digging before I get a chest from grinding....
I am having similar issues - I can barely get sprockets, let alone anything else >.>
I've found a decent amount of sprockets by battling in the Mire and Harpy's Roost, where I usually level dragons. Granted, I've been grinding exalt fodder for our Dominance push, so I've been spending a ton more time in the Coliseum than usual.
As for chest locations, if you don't want to buy the skins outright, I believe this is accurate. At least it'll help you know which enemies in which venues to grind for each chest:

The Chimera, Double-tailed Warcat, and Charcoal Sprangyroo are all Arena neutral mobs, and I've had a good number of neutral mobs drop sprockets, so you're actually in a decent location for them. I've also heard people reporting good results in the Bamboo Forest.
Sadly, Lightning has fewer than average mobs in the Coliseum as a whole, so you'll have to be patient, but hopefully it'll pay off for you guys in the end.
I've tried just about every location, but it's like all the lightning mobs flee whenever I enter an area. I've already bought all the skins, so it isn't the end of the world, but I like having at least one of every chest, too. It's not like there's a lower number of lightning familiars to face; they just don't seem to spawn as often. Makes it awful frustrating.
And spent the last .... um... however long it has been since I posted that grinding in the arena.... I've almost leveled twice now, and only found some sprockets... and 2 familiars, 1 of which I already had XD Plus all the other random stuff that usually shows up, of course
Yeah, the arena was amazing for light.... Not so much for lightning. Sounds like you'll be reaching the Mire in no time, though, which is something.
did get lots of sprockets last night, and managed to level out of the arena.... might still grind there though, as the skin I like second best is in there XD already grabbed the one I like best, for the male tundra, from the market!

Im just feeling rather poor! I dont tend to have the extra time to spend earning it via the games etc.. ive made like 1000 gems from the sale of strange chests in the first few days but thats bottomed out and everything i want seems to cost a lot!
