[Miniwyvs] The Glorious Return [Closed!]

A scent wafts along the breeze, familiar and yet... not. There is an electric buzz, one that your nerves have felt before, and, through the air, a melody can be heard, faint, but it pulls at the corners of your mind.

You follow the sound, the scent, the hum of electricity, until you find the forest glade.

They swoop through the air, some ridden by fairies, some on their own. Some splash in shallow pools of water near the trickle of a little stream. Some rest, sunning themselves.

They have returned.

For those unfamiliar, Miniwyvs are little dragon-like creatures that seem to survive on magic. They have detached wings, which they don't actually seem to need to fly. Some prefer water, some prefer air, and just about all of them tend to be mischevious and eager to mingle with other creatures.

They come in a few poses, with many, many mutations and attributes that are still being discovered, and in every color of the rainbow. (Some colors are more common and likely to pass down than others.) They also associate often with fairies, occasionally wear accessories, and sometimes even collect little pet buddies of their own.

Males & females share the same poses, but will be marked.

The Shallow Pools

You approach the pools of shimmering water, where Miniwyvs splash and play. Some are the Aquawyvs, with fins and tails suited for swimming, but some regular Miniwyvs are enjoying the cool water, too.

A fairy watches over them, and he looks up as you approach, tiny wings fluttering as he rises through the air to greet you.

"Well met, traveller! The long sleep is over, and we have awoken once more, fae and 'wyvs alike!" He grins. "Would you like to select a friend to come home with you? There's a catch, though. You don't get to choose... the 'wyv gets to choose!"

The Berry Bush

You approach a bush dotted with berries, each one a different color of the rainbow. You've been taught not to eat strange flora, but, well... you're pretty sure these are probably ok. You reach for a berry.

"Hey, wait a second!" a tiny voice squeaks. A little fairy appears at your elbow, holding a rather long scroll that falls nearly the the ground. "You can take one, but you'd better think carefully about which color berry you take. They don't all do the same thing!"

...do the same thing? Maybe you shouldn't eat these berries, after all. But... well, it could be interesting. Do you take a berry? If so, what color?

You'll get something random as a result. (Is it a 'wvy? Is it an item? WHO KNOWS!)

The first one has been given away, onto the second! Everyone can enter again!

Set up near the center of the glade is a little circular stage, small in diameter, but raised up quite high into the air... and floating. Fairy magic, you figure.

A pixie near the stage beckons you over. "'Ello! Some of the 'wyvs really want to find new homes and go on adventures, but they're rather picky. They each have their preferences. If you think you can appease one, you should try! Maybe they'll go home with you!"

The Miniwyv currently on the stage is draped in rainbow finery!



This Miniwyv likes colors and poetry. Everyone who writes a haiku about a color of their choice will be entered into a random drawing to take her home! Her favorite haiku will get one extra entry.

You sit for a spell, enjoying the lovely scenery and the splashing of the little creatures. Finally, one emerges from where she plays in the water, and flits over to you, spraying you playfully with the droplets of water that still cling to her. I think this means that she likes you!

What a gorgeous color this berry is! You can't resist it. When you bite in, images of the ocean immediately burst into your mind. You can practically smell the salt on the air, and hear the waves lapping... one seems to wash across your foot.
When the vision fades, you look down, and see a little silver giftbox next to your toes.

You sit next to the pool, enjoying the occasional splash from the 'wyvs that play there. Soon, you feel a nudge on your hand, and look down to see a little female Aquawyv! She wants to come home with you.


The Berry Bush - Riverwind
Red seems like a safe choice in berry. Lots of other delicious berries are red, after all! You select a plump, juicy fruit from the bush. It tastes like candy. Like... fake berries. But in a good way!
As you're turning to leave the bush, the fairy calls out to you. "Oh, hey, take this 'wyv with you, ok? She's lonely."
Well then. I guess you have another new friend!

You've barely even sat down when a Miniwyv comes zooming over, making ridiculous little squeaking sounds. He flies in fast circles around your head, before finally landing and settling in your lap.



The Berry Bush - YourLoveOnly
The rich blue berry calls to you, and you can't resist popping it into your mouth. It's delicious, the perfect mix of sweet and tart and exotic, and you close your eyes to focus on savoring the flavor. And then something bonks you on the head from above. You look around, but see no one, and no 'wyvs around who might have dropped it... but there's a little vial of Green Dust at your feet.

As you sit by the pools of water, flashes of color keep catching your eye, but never quite in your direct field of vision. Something bright seems to be flitting around in the leaves of nearby plants, occasionally darting out... but it doesn't want you to see it. Yet. You stay still and patient, and are eventually rewarded! She finally flits up to you, seeming to have decided to accompany you home.

A purple berry seems like a good choice. Every berry is a slightly different shade though, and you select a rich, dark purple. It tastes like... chicken? Really delicious chicken, but it is definitely a chicken-flavored berry.
As you confusedly swallow, you see something else hidden in the bush, and pull out a little vial of Pink Dust for breedings!

You sit near one of the pools of water, watching the Miniwyvs at play. Some of them swim over to inspect you, but then return to their games. One particular Aquawyv catches your eye, though, as it seems aloof from its friends, watching over the happenings like some sort of tiny, regal king. Eventually, it lazily swims over to you, staring intently. You should probably take him home with you!



The Berry Bush - Nako
You select a very bright berry and pop it into your mouth. It's quite sour, but in that delicious, candy-like way. It is the most fun berry you've ever eaten, truly a party in your mouth.
When the experience of eating that berry is over, you turn to leave, and nearly trip over a little bottle of Pink Dust half buried.

As you go to sit near the pool, a little squeak grabs your attention. You look around, and finally spot a 'wyv nearby, sunning itself on a rock, and staring intently at you. It squeaks again. Insistently. He seems to want something from you... maybe you should bring it home?

You have your eye set on a berry in a lovely shade of lilac. It looks plump and juicy and delicious. You reach for it... and a Miniwyv darts in and snatches the berry, chomping it down in mid-air.
Well. No berry for you, it seems.
But the 'wyv flits over, and she seems quite friendly, so at least you have a new friend!

You sit down. You wait. You enjoy the quiet splashing and occasional chirps of the 'wyvs. In fact, you enjoy them so much that you doze off... and when you wake up, a little 'wyv is curled up on you! Aww, you should probably take him home with you.

What a richly colored berry! You pop it into your mouth. It tastes like chocolate, a little bit, with a hint of fruit. It's a very complex flavor.
As your turning to leave, the fairy flits over, carrying a vial of Pink Dust. "I think you dropped this," he says, dropping it into your hand before you can object. Well then!

The Stage - 1 - Results!

The little fancy Miniwyv darts from flower to flower, happily inspecting all of them. She seems to genuinely appreciate the offerings, though she lingers at two of the blooms longer than the others. In the end, she settles on Kahlira's flower, because it matches her nicely and she likes its weird shape!
