I only use it for games, and amazingly enough to talk to my boyfriend, who I have had some major issues with, but we found that using facebook to talk helps, he sits at his comuter I sit at mine and we talk, no yelling and it is civil

I think mostly it's a 'word of mouth' thing (so to speak). You see your friends' status updates with the games and then you click on them to play yourself. ^^;;
