On the southern end of the island of Secundi, a small tribe of drakes has made the bank of the Winter River, so named because the water is turbulent enough to be constantly capped in white, their home~

Ice Queen is the tribe's Lead Drake, due to being the largest and most willing to throw her weight around. The others in the tribe follow her as she chooses the best spots for napping in the sun, stalking open fields for small critter prey, and deciding when the tribe retires to their tree nests for the night.

Although Ice Queen doesn't seem to settle on one drake partner every season, she is often seen with Owl Feather, the oldest male. He is her second in command and backs up all her decisions, and is best at breaking up squabbles between the other drakes in the tribe (which Ice Queen just ignores cuz that's beneath her).

Ice Queen had a clutch of three eggs with the Foundation drake, Toren, and she is very proud of them. Other than Owl Feather, they are the most important drakes in the tribe. The first of her brood is Amazon Rain, a smart female that takes after her mother in many ways.

Winter Blaze is Ice Queen's second child. She's a daredevil who loves taking risks. She'll fly in any storm. You always find her closeby her mother and watching Owl Feather to learn from his experience.

Rain Puddle might be the second in command if Owl Feather and the children didn't have seniority. He's a headstrong young male and very smart. Almost too smart for his own good. He hasn't made a move to be Lead Drake, but he might be just biding his time and watching Ice Queen.

Funny enough, the next drake in the tribe hierarchy is also the youngest. Star Eyes is barely out of his hatchling stage, and still has a lot of youthful energy and enthusiasm. He likes to poke his nose into every other drake's business, and the only reason he rarely gets punished is because Ice Queen is so indulgent of him. Perhaps he reminds her of her hatchlings.

If the tribe had an 'omega', it would be Spotted Plum. He doesn't seem to fit in much and gets blamed the most during tribe squabbles. Luckily those aren't often; the drakes get along pretty well for the most part, and prey is plentiful enough near the River that no drake goes hungry.

Jester is the brightest colored and also the newest member of the tribe. She seems to have a great sense of humor and plays pranks on the other drakes in the tribe, but she's always in such good spirits that they don't seem to mind. For now.

After a wild wind storm passed, Ice Queen and Owl Feather patrol their territory and run into Northern Wing. This handsome drake with a keen eye and strong wings was quickly driven off by the two Lead Drakes. They just took in a new mouth to feed, they don't want another! But Northern Wing is undeterred. He hangs around the edge of the Winter River territory... watching....

Northern Wing isn't the only lone drake hanging around the Winter River. A brightly colored older female, Dragonheart, doesn't seem to have a tribe to belong to. Despite this, she seems to get along quite well living on her own. She's quick-witted and looks plump and healthy. She's not as young as she used to be, but she's smart enough to survive on her own.

There's also two other drakes who aren't part of any tribe, but perhaps they will form a tribe of their own. Mille-fleurs and Marbeled Moss are both females and a mated pair. They are sometimes found near the Winter River, but they will also travel to other locations to search for food. Mille-fleurs loves to preen and will sit prettily for hours.

Marbeled Moss is mated to Mille-fleurs. She's a very calm personality and is happy to relax, often found sleeping. Because she blends in so well with her surroundings, when she's sleeping she's very hard to find.

Down the river from Ice Queen's tribe, another tribe of drakes has claimed a spot on the same river. This territory includes the river delta and the drakes enjoy the lush growth of the area. They are a quickly growing tribe that Ice Queen keeps an eye on, fearing they might grow too big and become a threat to her family.

Battle Scars is a very old female that has obviously lived a very active life. She still has a lot of energy and seems to rule her tribe through sheer strength of will, and with the help of her second in command.

Stormflash is Battle Scars' much younger second in command and perhaps her mate. He is fiercely devoted to her and if any other drakes in the tribe move against her, he will quickly retaliate.

Torrent is the third of Ice Queen's brood! He takes his name from his father, Toren. Surprisingly, as soon as he reached adulthood he left the Winter River tribe and set out on his own, perhaps clashing with his mother's personality. Soon he was found in the River Delta tribe and, with intelligence and cunning, quickly rose through the ranks.

A generally happy fellow, Forest Elf is a peacekeeper in the tribe, soothing ruffled feelings and helping wherever he can. In a tribe of explosive personalities, his contribution is important.

Young and flighty, Cirrus seems to only care about goofing off and hanging fun. He spends a lot of time flying around. He is often chastised by the others in the tribe.

Passion Storm wants to do more in the tribe and have a higher rank, but for some reason Battle Scars mostly ignores her and doesn't give her much to do. As long as Passion Storm doesn't cause a fuss, Battle Scars is happy to let her stay in the tribe. Passion Storm spends her time taking care of her younger drakes.

Caramel Stallion is full of himself and spends a lot of his time preening. Every mating season he shows off but never seems to catch the attention of any females. Maybe next year will be his year.

Thin and weak, almost starving, Fearless joined the tribe after a particularly harsh winter. She recovered and became an important part of the tribe. Like her name suggests, she has no hesitation and will jump into any situation.

Wild Eye, named for the impressive markings on his wings, is the newest member of the tribe. He seems to have come from a territory far away and might be a different subspecies altogether. He keeps to himself on the fringes of the tribe and the others are intrigued by him but also seem wary of letting him get too close.
