{Pecora} Shiny New Thread!

In the Forest of Winter's Kiss, a small herd grazes calmly.  They are surrounded by snow, with only the barest hints of brown branches and green pine needles evident around the edges of their clearing.  Even the sky is a glowering grey, showing no hint of blue or gold, symbols of daylight.  There's nothing particular impressive about this herd; they are the colour of snow, with the same icy markings upon their hides. 

Despite their ease, they are not alone, and it takes only a moment for the lead Pecora to lift his head, white nostrils flaring as he looks around him cautiously.  There, at the edge of the thicket, a hooded woman waits, her cloak a shimmering white, making her nearly invisible against the snow-covered trees. 

The Pecora's stance changes, a move to alert and the other Pecora answer by raising their heads as well.  He eyes the trespasser, but she doesn't move, not yet, watching the snowflake-touched deer thoughtfully.  Silence fills the minutes as they slowly slip past, each inspecting the other.  Finally, she lifts her hands, her voice a whisper on the wind that he can hear and understand.

I offer you a gift; the gift of friendship, of colour, of an outside world.  I offer this to you freely to atone for sins committed in error.  Accept or not, but my time is limited, I'm afraid.

He snorts in surprise, feels the Pecora shifting around him.  They separate into two camps, those behind him, and those behind a younger stag.  It's apparent where the two stances are, though the lead Pecora desires this gift as well.  But some must remain to protect their origins.  He nods gracefully to the other male and his son throws his head up in salute before moving to the woman. 

She smiles and spreads her hands out.  It's only a wave of icy mist that touches them, yet they are profoundly changed.  The colours of the world outside of their Forest, colours of summer, of autumn, of rainbows, and life ripple across their hides, leaving a glorious mural enacted upon their very bodies.  The newly-coloured Pecora mill curiously, inspecting each other, glancing back at their herd. 

The woman bows to the lead Pecora and gestures for the deer to follow her; with a few more glances back, they follow the strange woman into the wood and, soon, into the world beyond.

The last thread was getting long and confusing, so we have a shiny new one.

Breeding
Breeding is not yet open. Maybe it will open soon, maybe not.
Breeding Rules-
-Each person is allowed two slots per breeeding season.
-Females can breed once per season.
-Males can breed unlimited.
-Each breeding requires a normal snowflake, all other snowflakes are on top of the normal snowflake and have different effects on the Pecora. The one exception is the rainbow snowflake; it may be used as a replacement for the normal breeding snowflake.
-An effect snowflake will only effect one baby, so if a multiple birth snowflake is used, then you must use multiple effect snowflakes to have complete control over the births. (EX, if you use a twin snowflake and you want two female Pecora, you must use two female snowflakes)
-There is no limit on the amount of snowflakes you can use in a single breeding, but snowflakes with opposite effects may not be used on the same baby. (EX, you cannot use both a male breeding snowflake and a female breeding snowflake on the same Pecora)
-A magic breeding snowflake may be used but will count toward one of your two slots. Effect snowflakes may be used with the magic breeding snowflake.
-You may use other people's Pecora in a breeding. They must post permission for that to happen though.
-You may charge stud/RB breeding fees. There is no limit on what you can charge/what currencies you can ask for.
-Forever baby items may be used once babies are born.

Just looked at his image name, and he's supposed to be patterned after a Japanese Bobtail. I believe the Japanese call tricolor cats Mi-ke, and they're seen as very good luck. I also believe they're related to beckoning cats, the cat statues with the raised paw, as they beckon good luck to the owner. =)

Aww, SeaCrest quoted my botched post. XD My memory of the beckoning cats is so fuzzy; it's been years since I researched them.

I probably should roleplay, but my creative energy seems to be shot right now. Stayed up real late again last night, and I'm anticipating the family vacation next week, and not in the good way. 3 hour drive to my parents', followed by a 7 hour drive to New York, followed by another 7 hour drive home after a 3 day stay in NY, followed by another 3 hour drive... my body is crying right now. My circulation's kinda poor, so my legs and feet are going to swell like balloons.

And it's also sounding like my Vampire Storyteller is going to stake me in person if I don't finish up my character. She's about 2 weeks overdue for consideration. *whistles innocently* XD
