Tattoo ideas?

I'm getting a tattoo and two piercings...Probably after christmas (near february - my birthday), I'll have to save up but I'm excited and want to plan now xD;

I'll be getting the tattoo behind my ear/on my neck. I don't want anything too big, and would prefer just black...

I like the idea of getting the chinese symbols of 'Dream' and 'Love' or 'Spirit'.

I am a huge ink fan and i believe with your talent you should draw something yourself.  Have it mean something deeper than just kanji (not that there is anything wrong with kanji) just encorporate your own design along with the kanji.

Play with designs and build a relationship with your ink prior to it being stuck...I sure am glad I did and each one of my pieces I love deeply.

I second Sculli, with your talent you should create something very personal to you to get. If you start working with designs now you have loads of time to get it just perfect

My most loved Tattoo is the one that was designed and drawn specially for me by a friend.

I didn't feel fully confident about drawing my own...
But I suppose I could start sketching, it won't hurt.
And then it does make it more personal

I'm mostly decided on having 'Dream' and 'Faith' now, but I'll try and incorporate something personal into it, make it my own

I would adore to be able to draw well enough to do my own. I make do with finding ones special to me and having them drawn for me.

I like tattoos , to an extend, but i don't really like the idea very many young ppl have to "just picking" a symbol og something from a book and get that tattooed on them..

Tattooes are most impressive and fasinating when wheres something personal to them for the person having it .. Like your b-day with something creative around and such

A reference to something can still be personal. My current tattoo says "I Saw Forever In My Never" which is a lyric from a Blue October song. It's not a OMIGOSH I LOVE THIS BAND LETS TATTOO IT. Not at all. Even if I ever end up completely hating the music, those words hold a deep personal meaning and remind me of things I have been through in life. Looking at that tattoo every day gives me strength. Even though the words are from a lyric and not made up myself, it doesn't make the meaning behind it any less strong.

That's how I would feel about the chinese symbols
Dream and Faith would be something that have meaning. (Rather than say 'Love' - which may look pretty but in the end, I decided it has no meaning to me. I'm quite a loving person xD)
Whereas sometimes we need to remember to have faith in ourselves and our dreams...
I always rub or touch behind my left ear when I'm thinking or worried, and I think having those tattoos there will just be a little pick-me-up reminder of why I got them.

But I'll sketch and see if I can incorporate something else, perhaps a little image or design.
But If I think it'll look too messy or crowded, then I'll probably just get symbols ^^;

I have no deep meaning or excuse for wanting the piercings though. I just think they look pretty xD;

Piercings are also fun! I have several of those also. Saddly my husband and family arent body mod fans, so I can get all I would like. Nose can look fab on some people. When you say nose, Im assuming you mean the side? Not the septum?

Nape looks nice too, though I would prolly catch it all the time! Also, if your prone to migration it could be a pain but still   Yay for piercings!

I considered getting snake bites or a monroe piercing, but I think my dad would have a heart attack xD;

My parents are fine with nose piercings, my mum's more relaxed with everything, and my dad is happy as long as I'm happy (but I think he's having a little 'My little girl' dilema xD)
I've not said about the nape yet, but I'd be getting the tattoo and nose first, then decide if I still want the nape

I'm not very big on piercing.... don't even have my ears pierced, but I do have a single tattoo.

I was raised to be the kid that was seen but not heard and when I started going out to volunteer at a barn and getting back into riding, my teacher, aka the person I consider my big sister now, and her husband my big brother, showed me that live was more than that.  They taught me right from wrong and how to stand up for myself and how to speak my mind.  That was when I was 15ish.

When I turned eighteen, Joe (the husband) decided to get a tatoo with me bc I had my heart set on getting a tattoo.  His idea was that he would get his first, make it look painful, and scare me out of it.  His mistake:  He went to the bathroom before he got his and I slipped into the chair instead.  My tattoo is a simple butterfly on my shoulder, but it was the first decision that I ever made for me without anyone else.  Yes, I picked it out of a book, but it means an immense amount to me...  Whenever I'm feeling like I've been abandoned by the world and can't do things alone, that butterfly is there to prove me wrong.  It was the first in a long line of decision that I made for me.... Mostly bad ones, but still for ME.

It is probably MUCH  more personal if you have drawn it yourself, but even a quickly picked tattoo can hold meaning.  I'm sure whichever you choose, will be just perfect for you....

And I desperately want another tattoo.... something to do with my horse, but I've got to wait on that for now...

Snake bites are awesome!! So are spider bites   I have one side of my lip done and *so* baddly wanna get snake or spider but my husband and parents are always nagging me to 'Take that darn ring out' so they are no goes for me My folks are rather old fashioned (you wouldnt think im 30 huh?)

Im focusing on my ears atm since i love piercings there and they cant argue so much.. the latest is an industrial which im loving!

Im also considering getting a wrist piercing or implant.. sure that will go down well too.. lol Esp with my sis who has told me im to get no more stuff done til after her wedding sometime next year.. yeah.. thats not happening
