Description Profile
Starwing of the Brightside has an enormous sense of honor and responsibility. He feels obligated to protect those in his care, no matter what the consequences.

He is true to his friends and loyal to his leaders. His actions may be foolhardy at times, but he is driven by his will to do the right thing. If he thinks his actions may do some good, he will plunge headfirst into quicksand to pull someone else out.

He doesn't give in to pain or exhaustion easily, but will advice others to rest or recover. He loves to bring out the best in others and tries to give them the chance to show off their own skills.

He still feels guilty about losing part of the herd that had been entrusted in his care during his first Wintersday Journey and may carry that guilt for years to come. He is worried the same thing will happen again in his second Journey, especially with his greatly enlarged herd. This may lead him into strange actions, hoping to avoid a reoccurence.

Starwing loves the Fields of his home and strongly believes even plants have a will of their own, which is part of what's hindering the development of his Earth Powers. Even though he has a strong Mental Control, he seems lacking in any control of his Element. Because of his respect for ALL life, even soulless plantlife, his Powers usually only come to life when strong emotions come into play.

History
Starwing is an orphan, who got lost in the Fields where Chaos Angel found and raised him.

After Chaos Angel left, Starwing traveled the fields for a while, until he found a small valley to the side. The valley was uninhabited and he settled down, leaving clues with some other Faes, just in case Chaos Angel would try to find him.

One day, the Faette Sunbloom entered his valley, lost and confused. Starwing welcomed her to his home. He offered to aid her to find her herd and he did. They found her family, but she stayed with Starwing, becoming the first member of his herd.

Soon, they were joined by a young Faequine stallion, Yruvian, who was looking for a place to stay. His previous herd leader only kept his daughters close, afraid to be replaced as leader. Starwing, who never even thought twice about being a herd leader now too, didn't hesitate to welcome the newcomer.

Starwing has joined the first Wintersday Journey only because his young friends wanted to. Losing part of the herd has hurt him deeply, even though he tries not to let it show too much. The memories of that first Journey will no doubt have him hesitant to join a second one. Even so, the obvious child-wishes of some of his herd will drive him into coming along, to protect those in his care. He will leave the Faettes under the care of Sunbloom, knowing they'll be safe.

Starwing has been blessed by divine intervention in some way during the first Wintersday Journey.

The foals that were born during the Wintersday Journey, together with new arrivals from the Fields and, during the Halloween Search, from the forest, have made his small herd explode. Starwing isn't sure he can handle a large herd like his has become. Physically, he may be one of the weaker stallions of the herd. Even so, his sense of responsibility will make him try his best to keep the herd together. He is not much of a fighter and will try to solve trouble peacefully.

If left no choice in the matter, Starwing will fight, to the dead if need be, to protect those in his care. He will never fight to protect only his own life, but he feels the weight of responsibility for his own herd, the Fields themselves and the entire Fields herd... even though he is only a small herd leader, he believes they all have to share the burden of the huge Fields herd.

Starwing is currently looking for a way to keep his own expanded herd together. The current splits are starting to bug him and he may be giving more authority to those that have shown potential during their time together. He is carefully looking for at least a fourth Fae to join their small council. At this time, he is considering Hallowyne, Archangel Gabriel and even Melfian Blackstar for the position, but he hasn't made up his mind yet.

Breeding and Romance
During the first Wintersday Journey, it seemed Astarte and Starwing may become an item, thanks in no small part to Taft.

Since that day though, Starwing has fallen deeply in love with one of the newer members of his large herd, Lady Love, who has since born him his first and only child.

Powers and talents
Starwing is a herd leader, mostly. He uses his high level of mental control mainly to keep order in his small herd and to show them all the face of an inflappable, calm and steady herd leader. He uses his mind more than his muscles, trying to rule his part of the herd with fairness and compassion.

So far, he hasn't used his Mental Control to try and talk to the human Leviange, but he is considering trying to, even though his telepathic powers are rusty at best. He is strong enough for it, but he tries not to intrude in anyone's mind.

Even though he should be able to control some part of the Earth around him with his Elemental Power, he seems hesitant to use it. Maybe the moment someone lets him know plant life doesn't have a mind or a will of its own, he may start training it more. Right now, he doesn't show much actual use of his powers, even though his affinity to his home obviously stams from his connection to Earth.

With his rather high Purity level and high Mental Control, he should be able to hone the small level of Elemental strength he has to perfection, if he puts his mind to it. When the Tournament started, he didn't have a clue how to control even part of his powers. At the end of it, he still doesn't, even though his powers have shown themselves to those watching.
